Stellar Painting & Remodeling

Contacted them January 31st, 2015 to come an estimate the job. Someone picked up on Saturday and took down my information, even though they were not open. Set up a date and time 10 days later for them to come out. After they came out on 2/10/15, I never received another communication from them. I was told they were busy so it would be "a few days" before I received a quote. Does not speak to a professional business when they put off a job worth around $2000 and fail to communicate with the customer. They were attending a home show at the convention center, which was the reason given. I hope future customers receive follow up, professionalism and better customer service from them.

After not hearing from Troy, I called 5 separate time between October 20 to November 20. I never received a return phone call. One of my calls was to the office and I was told I had to speak with him directly. I called the office again on November 20 asking that someone give me a call back. Troy finally did call back after I went thru the office to leave a message. He said they could not do the project because the condo is a "commercial" space. This is not correct. His excuse for not calling me back was that he sent an email and must have had the wrong email address. He did not explain why he didn't just call me back from the 5 messages I had left him over the past month. The frustrating part is while trying to gather quotes, Troy simply could have told me upfront he wasn't interested in the job. Very poor communication and excuses.

They advertise themselves as a carpentry and remodeling company. I made it very clear that I wanted an estimate for a large exterior carpentry job on my home. After waiting 2 weeks, they sent out a painting estimator, who said he was not qualified to give me a carpentry estimate, but told me the carpenter would be out in a few days. After waiting another week, they sent an estimate for painting the carpentry but no estimate for the carpenter. After complaining, they responded a week later saying no carpenters were available. A big waste of time.

I might try them for something else, but after this experience it soured me on having it done at all - moved onto a different remodeling project.

The project is pending our start date-but so far the communication has been excellent! I am so excited to use this company!

In summer 2011 I had extensive remodelling done on my home by Stellar Remodeling. Earlier this year (2014) my master bath floor started crumbling (grout breaking up and tiles becoming loose.) Stellar has refused any responsibility and has simply said that there is no warranty and when and if I decide what I want to do about it, they could probably do repairs for cost.Another issue involved a water line installed improperly by them to an outside spigot. Water collected in line and froze, breaking line and water dripped into wall. Stellar intimated their guy knew what he was doing and surely not their fault. Plumber said differently. I would have recommended this company to others prior to this fiasco but no longer. If you've used them in the past, be aware that they do not like to take responsibility for their workmanship! Good business guys????? Not in my book!!!!

We had used this company for some interior painting and had a positive experience so we used them again for exterior painting. We have a stucco home so using a standard paint was not something I wanted to do for a number of reasons. I know that Stellar uses an elastomeric type paint for stucco and although its more expensive than ordinary house paint, I would highly recommend it for stucco houses. The estimate was quick and very detailed, the project coordinator answered all of my questions regarding the job and followed up on my questions. While overall the follow-up was good, I would not expect an immediate response all the time. We worked with Stellar in the spring and that of course is the peak of painting season so they are pretty busy. Email communication worked best and phone calls were returned in a couple of days. The crew was quick and efficient yet the quality was still there. The paint color matched what we were expecting on all colors chosen. They did not miss many spots that I could see and the paint looked to be uniform in appearance on both the main color and trim. They did a fine job on cleanup and were happy to do a final walkthrough of the area once completed. As I indicated before, I liked the fact that they've worked with elastomeric paint and have lots of experience in applying. I was more than pleased with the overall work as my already high expectation based on this price point were exceeded.

During the quote, we were impressed with the owner and the salesman. They told us 3 days for the job. We explained that we had guests coming the weekend of July 4th. They said it wasn't a problem and would be able to work on Saturday and Sunday, if necessary, to finish on time.When we got the printed quote, it stated 5 days for the job. As we both work, we were concerned. Again, they told us the crew would work weekends. When they called a week ahead to confirm, they quoted 6 days. They were with us 8.5 days and there are still places that need to be touched up.The 2-man crew did not arrive on time even once. One day they failed to appear at all, after we had taken off work to be there. The next day, I worked from home - which is frowned upon at my office - and they arrived 2 hours late. They told me that they didn't show up the day before because one of them had been picked up by the police and held in a case of mistaken identity. Later, they told my husband it was something to do with his car that had him in trouble with the police. They also refused to work on several days, including some weekend days.They got paint on EVERY light fixture and door handle in the the areas they painted. They lost a switch plate. There was paint on the wood floors, granite counters, wood cabinets, wood banister, and brick fireplace. They had drips of paint on the walls, patchy areas on the walls where old color showed through. They ripped wallpaper off the wall in line around the chair rail in my dining room. They also only put one coat of polyurethane on the front door, though the contract stated 2. The contract stated they would match the colors we chose to Benjamin Moore paints. They used everything but Benjamin Moore. The formal living room and dining room colors are 2 shades off of the chip we provided.They sanded the front door with it open into the house and managed to get (no joke) a quarter inch of dust on EVERYTHING on the first 2 floors of my house. Seeing this, I cancelled my guests' trip. I spent the entire holiday weekend cleaning up after the crew.On day 8, they told us they were done except for some touch ups in the formal living room. We arranged to have the foreman come to see the myriad of problems. He was completely unapologetic and disinterested. He kept pressuring us for the check for the remainder of the job. My husband told him, and quot;Not until the work is finished.and quot; They did another coat in the formal living room, and cleaned up paint on the banister and the fireplace. However, I still have paint all over fixtures, a missing switch plate, and ripped wall paper. There are still drips of paint on the walls that would need to be sanded and repainted to fix. In the end, the crew refused to fix any more, and my husband paid them to make them leave our house. The owner's only response in all of this was to and quot;let us finish the job.and quot;I have owned 3 properties in the Denver area in the last 14 years. All of them have been painted by professionals because I trust them to do a better job than I could. Stellar Painting is, by far, the worst experience I have ever had with a painter. I would have been better off asking friends to come paint for payment of pizza and beer.

It was smooth. They came in and did the work on my schedule. I was visiting my son and was in the home for a limited time. They came In when they said they would. Everything is over seen by their staff. Always calling to make sure we are pleased with the job. They cleaned up after every day they were there. We are extremely pleased with their work. And plan to use them for future projects. They want their clients to be happy with the finished product. They are a alittle pricey but the quality is very high.

The siding was replaced and the house painted. Stellar worked with us patiently to get the colors we wanted. The final product looks great. There was a problem with cleanup. The painters spilled paint laden water on our patio. I contacted Stellar about this and Guy was very diligent in getting this corrected. The effort Guy put into getting the spill removed actually impressed me more than if the spill had never happened in the first place.

It was great. Overall their service was good. We think their pricing was good. It was probably about the same as the others. The quality of service was great. We weren’t here when they were painting though. We’re actually relocating to Texas but we’ve referred them to people who’ve asked us.

I did not use this contractor YET. I will use him when I decide to follow through with the bathroom remodel project. I realized after getting a couple of different proposals that the remodel job was bigger than I had originally thought it would be and that I was still pretty undecided on exactly what I wanted. Jack communicated with me several times trying to help me come up with a solution for the very small space I have to work with. He made a few different detailed drawings and seemed very invested not in getting the job but in helping me solve my space dilemma. His quote was reasonably priced; his professionalism was exceptional. I will definitely be using him in the future.

We had a good experience. They were prompt and timely and courteous. I felt that the price was pretty much market price. Pretty reasonable or common.

Their bid was just too high. It was way out of the price of what I thought it should be. I thought it was a couple of hundred dollar job.

The two painters were punctual, professional and did a great job. They finished right on time so I didn't have to pay overtime (I had gotten an Angie's List deal for 8 hours/2 painters. Everyone from the owner to the office staff to the painters is polite and great to work with. And, the family room and stairway look fantastic!

They were awesome. They were very thorough and made sure they covered everything up. They were very careful and timely.

They were professional, punctual and the fee they quoted was fair.

It was very satisfactory. They were courteous, effective and efficient.

We were very pleased with how the job was done. We chose our own materials, most of them we bought ourselves, however we did get significant discounts by working with Jack. Jack was very helpful making useful suggestions during our project. The team was professional and we were not disappointed. What we wanted the most was a job very well done, attention to details and a contractor who would take care of everything from A to Z, as both me and my husband have very busy schedules. And we got exactly this.I keep getting compliments on my bathrooms every time someone stops by our house or sees the pictures. I have already recommended Jack's team to all my colleagues that are planning to take a remodel project in the future.Stellar does not come cheap, however they are not the most expensive either. And we did get other bids from other contractors before we started this project. However if you want a quality done job, then you need to be willing to pay more for this. I also liked the fact that Jack stayed very close to the initial proposal and we had no surprise expenses at the end. At the end of every week we got a detailed bill (both by email and by mail) that included both the various receipts for the materials, as well as the detailed hours for each of the workers. And we knew they were all accurate, because we always had someone from the family at the house for the entire project (which I do recommend) and so we knew exactly what was going on and who came when and who left when. It is important, because you do pay these workers by the hour.Everything promised was delivered and we would gladly hire Jack's company for our next project !

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. It ended up going very well. They ended up showing up two days after I made the purchase so it was almost immediate because they had the time and we were willing. That was great. I didn't spend any additional money. It was supposed to be 2 painters but 3 painters ended up coming over so we adjusted the hours and it worked out well. They were able to do 2 forms of painting because I had some shelves that I wanted spray painted. They spray painted the shelves one color and the walls another color. It was a big plus for me that they were able to work in both manners. They were competent and knew what they were doing. There was one guy that was the foreman and seemed to be the head of the 3. He asked for a different type of base to do the shelves. I went out and grabbed it and came right back so they were very flexible with me. They were very professional. They were crazy fast. I couldn't paint as fast as they did. They showed up 10 minutes early. I would use them again if I see another deal like this because their regular price is out of my league. I am keeping my eye out for another deal.

They were very responsive to our needs, the entire scope of the project, changes needed as we went along. They were very good at meeting with us thru out the project and to go over the end project and addressing any concerns we had. We would use them again.

They do very careful work. They are doing work for me now so I can't comment on how it will turn out. So far, as an example, they've replaced a bunch of interior doors and they've fit perfectly, so obviously we're off to a very good start. They stood out to me because they were they only one who could do the whole job, both the carpentry and the painting. With the other companies I talked to some could only do the carpentry, some could only do the painting, and only Stellar Painting & Remodeling could do both. I didn't really want to have to coordinate between two different contractors. Price-wise they were also very competitive and I couldn't tell about the carpentry price until I get a final amount of all the work that was done. But so far they are doing excellent work. They are also very good at answering all of my questions. Top drawer so far. I've got other work to do that I will consider them for as well.

Remodeled a small bathroom, the work was done very well and on budget!
