On an initial phone call with Levi, I described the general scope of the project and also stressed that the work needed to occur during a very specific time frame. Levi expressed interest in the job, and affirmed that Paramount would be available during the period requested. Based on that affirmation, I provided contact info for my current tenant in order for Paramount to set up a time to inspect the space. And immediately after the call, I emailed a very detailed list of the work I wanted completed. Levi affirmed receipt of that email the next day, and I awaited the bid from Paramount. Approximately 2 weeks later, I received a wildly inaccurate bid that included multiple elements I had never asked for (eg, a new vanity, baseboard heating, a bathtub), and omitted critically important elements that I had specifically asked for (eg, a walk-in shower, window replacement, etc). When questioned on that day (both via email and telephone), Paramount could provide no explanation for the inaccuracies. They also revised the bid on-the-spot (on the phone), which resulted in updates that were slightly ridiculous (eg, price of the project would be EXACTLY the same if a walk-in shower were added but unnecessary items were removed). At that point, I requested more specific information regarding the bid and how costs were calculated. The next day, Paramount contacted me to let me know that they were no longer available for the project. In subsequent correspondence with Levi, I was told that the inaccuracies of the bid were due to internal communication errors (with no further details as to what that means exactly). He also explained that the companyand acirc;??s inability to accept the job was due to my tenantand acirc;??s failure to allow access to the unit in a timely manner, which critically delayed the bid, thereby allowing other contracts to be signed. The delays attributed to my tenant were unknown to me until that conversation (ie, Paramount never contacted me during the process to express concern about gaining access in a timely manner, etc). All in all - from my perspective and acirc;?? the actions of Paramount were unprofessional and inconsiderate. Their processes and/or staffing seems fairly dysfunctional. The excuses they provided for problems encountered were somewhat difficult to believe. And ultimately, they and acirc;??bumpedand acirc;?? my project for another and failed to honor their verbal promise of availability.
Description of Work: I contacted Paramount based on angieslist reviews to potentially hire them for a bathroom remodel of a rental unit I own. I don't live in Denver, and wanted to secure the services of a company to perform the work within a specific time frame (when I would be in town). A couple weeks after contacting Paramount, they provided a bid for the work, and simultaneously told me that they wouldn't be available for the project.

It was a very short and unfriendly conversation.
Description of Work: When somebody called back yesterday - he was telling me he only installs 4 different cabinet vendors and I can't use the one I choose - that's how he does business...totally blew me off.

wasted my time.
Description of Work: Had contractor over to get ballpark estimate in pretty straight-forward addition and "get to know him" in advance of plans being drawn. Waited 3 weeks after guy said he would put together basic estimate without response. Emailed and called and finally heard back a week later saying it would be 1 1/2 months before he could even do an estimate? Wasted my time. Seemed like scope of relatively simple but a bit too challenging. If you value your time, consider before asking for estimate.

They came. They estimated. They worked. They left us satisfied.
Description of Work: Repainted small outdoor areas of our house. Sanded, braced and painted the deck. All work was done with craftsmanship and attention to detail. I would recommend these people.

It went fine. Scott is highly responsive and did a good job. As a result of his caulking, etc., the house felt less drafty almost instantly. We gave him all "As" except for a "B" on price. The first visit, where the bulk of the work was done, was priced very reasonably, but I thought the tab for a second, brief visit (hanging the door) was a little pricey. We strongly recommend this guy.
Description of Work: We had an energy audit that recommended, in addition to some major things, a bunch of minor repairs. These included caulking, adjusting exposed insulation, etc. Unrelated to heat retention was a need to correcting a leak and the location of some pipes in the maintenance room. We also needed a sliding door re-hung. We asked Scott to do those repairs for us.

He also cleaned his work areas.
Description of Work: I found Scott on Angies list and I am so satisifed with his work.I called and explained what I needed and we set an appointment for the following day. He was on time and looked carefully at all the smaller drywall repairs and two larger ones. He called me back with an estimate that day and had the next two days available to do the work that was what I had hoped for which was great. Some repairs were easy and some more difficult but he worked constantly and carefully. On a larger 2' x 2' patch we could not even see the seams. He also matched the texture . I will call him again and plan to have him remodel a bathroom in the next few months. It is good to have someone so experienced and ready to work.

HIRE PROFFESSIONALS- this guy is a clown. To his credit if you need something simple like blinds hung up for you he is your man. If your looking for someone who conducts himself in a PROFFESSIONAL manner and works look elsewhere. I have so many negative things to say I couldn't possibly cover it here. Few things that will cover this guy in a nutshell: 1) gives you a decent quote- but not a contract RED FLAG FOLKS 2)contracts a lot of the work out to others he just met -like the felon he had in my home where I have small children that he met the day before for the first time. 3) he constantly reeks of Marijuana ( but he'll say he has a legal license- sorry but I don't believe your medical marijuana license covers you on the job) 4) big promises on start dates and times he plans on showing up- then never does. 5) is real quick to take your money and run. 6) had an issue with theft of jewelry while his subcontractors and their children (who they had working... Ummm child labor laws??) where here, even after I repeatly mentioned that I was not comfortable with that. 7) This guy is paranoid to all h*** ( marijuana????) And quick to blam me or anyone else for what went wrong. All I can say is I paid him way too much on time and he did not deliver. Like I said, there's so much more than this and if you would like to speak to me personally I would be happy to fill you in and steer you clear from Scott Edwards and Paramount Renovations. Feel free to email me at snowtwinpeaks@aol.com Sorry, after having a good laugh at the response posted I just would like to say that I appreciate the length you have gone to try and redeem yourself on paper. Had you put half that effort into your work you would be a respectable contractor. Us- scammers? You are the one with my money and I am left with no work completed. Your responses lack any credibility, its basically completely falsified, and I sincerly encourage you to seek help for your drug abuse as it is obviously clouding your memory. I encourage anyone who is even considering using this guy to tread carefully. My husband and I both work respectable jobs in healthcare and do not have a need to "scam" anyone. I would encourage anyone to please contact me (snowtwinpeaks@aol.com) and I will be happy to provide contractors/ painters/ handymen we have used that I can vouch for their character and as they can for mine. I would hate for anyone to have to endure what we have with Scott Edwards and his paranoia. I will leave it at that as I have already seen how inaccurate and false anything you respond to will be. Let the videos and photos I have taken show you his work, and his kids on the job, and you can decide how comfortable you feel about hiring someone who is cleary denying what I have video proof of. Bottom line folks, why even take a chance???

Response from Paramount Renovations
Its unfortunate how things turned out. After a month and a half they still wouldnt get permits after promising them. I did everthing i could to get them moved in rapidly and they kept pushin and promising, so I accomodated. They went to my helper behind my back to get a bid for work that I should have accrued to save themselves money. The work is finished to a point of completion where inspections can be performed and money has been paid. A bill including all work performed was sent, and when I was told that the money wasnt there, I could not continue to work for free. All requests made by the client were accomodated above and beyond the call as is my reputation. My reputation is at risk because I believe I have, for the first time, been privy to scammers. When the necklace was found there was still accusations that implied guilt. As the residence backs to a park my child and my helpers children would play there the duration of the day. As for the marijuana, I have no idea. As for the work performed I have pics I can post. As for the bill, I am owed money. I think that they have done this before. I have witnesses as to the conduct of the business ethic of these people. I had to make sure I wasnt taken advantage of any longer. Especially after being accused of stealing a necklace, and steam generator, and told that money wasnt there after so many additional accomodations were added on. They seem to be proffessionals at getting high end work for nothing. Its impossible to do business with people who lie and expect something for nothing. I could not let them continue like they were..it got way out of hand. My apologies for all of this rebuttal, but the venomous allegations in the complaint had to be answered. Id never do that to anyone, but the severity of whats suggested shows, in my opinion is someone who is angry they didn't get their way. I also apologize to all Angies list viewers. I have never had to deal with this in 20 years of working, and I have references if this incident is a factor on your consideration.

Hanging window blinds is not a big deal for some people, but I have two left thumbs, so I needed a handyman. Although Scott was very busy and this was a small job, he made time for us, coming about 48 hours after we called. He did a very good job---the blinds look quite sharp---and everything went quickly, and the price was very reasonable.
Description of Work: Handyman hung two new window blinds
Well I think I told the story above I am very happy with Scotts work and will always include him in my future projects. Basement remodel will be next on the agenda for my personal home.
Description of Work: I have hired Scott three different time now. I have a couple of rental houses in the Denver area and hired him to do some handy man work the first time at one of the houses. He did a great job at the repair list I had made up and his price was more than fair. The second time was to take care of some landscaping problems with the sprinklers and the front yard was a mess. I called Scott thinking he may want to do this work. He told me I do Everything!!!. Well again Scott did a great job on this rental house. The last time I used Scott was to remodel a bathroom. We took this room down to the studs and Scott did all the work. Drywall, plumbing, tile, cabinets. Another Great Job Scott. Scott is my first call for my construction needs.

They are very reliable. They are definitely doing quality work. They are honest and offer an extremely reasonable price.
Description of Work: He did an addition to our house. It was on the first floor. He is building another room onto the house.
