HERE ARE MORE DETAILS We are senior citizens with a limited budget for our move and decided to stay with GoKingMovers.com because of their quote, the website and their website stating an senior citizen additional discount. GoKingMovers.com WAS notified multiple times of the incorrect address on our quote and that the 2nd Pickup location was not on that form NOR either of the 2 emails. The 1st of 2 trucks truck DID arrive at our Georgetown home around 10 PM on the 28th, but the 2 movers in that truck did not finish unloading (without a dolly of any sort) until ~4:30 a.m. on the 29th and my husband had to help ?pry? the back door open as it was filled so tightly, they only had a borrowed flashlight from us to see and the only piece of furniture on the truck ? our sofa ? was used to prop boxes to keep them from falling!!! The 2nd Truck did not show up until 9 a.m. on the 29th and NEVER called us NOR the other movers NOR their company dispatch between the time they left Broomfield and the time the other movers left ~ 4 a.m. The morning of the 29th, the 2nd Truck driver stated he had been ?tired? the night before and had ?pulled off the road behind a McDonald?s? ? 10 minutes away and He told us HE DID NOT HAVE any telephone numbers to let ANYONE know where he was nor why he DID NOT SHOW . . . we had police looking for them, thinking there may have been an accident . . . the police couldn't find the truck. The representative who had given us the original quote said he would send 2 new movers up in their own car, have them unload the 2nd truck and then he would PROVIDE ANOTHER TRUCK AND MOVERS TO COMPLETE THE MOVE OF OUR FURNISHINGS FROM THE APARTMENT IN BROOMFIELD UP TO GEORGETOWN AND UNLOAD AND SETUP AT ?NO ADDITIONAL CHARGE? the following morning due to the extreme circumstances of the move up to that time. We HAD to pay the $1875 BEFORE Robert would allow our belongings to be removed from this truck!!!! Two others movers arrived, and followed through with the unloading of the 2nd truck, placing the boxes stacked in our garage the night before in the appropriate rooms in our home and helped us note ALL THE DAMAGE to our furniture as it came of the 2nd truck ? most had not been shrink wrapped, blanket wrapped, nor secured during the drive from Broomfield, furniture was leaning on the sides of the truck and other pieces of furniture or just lying on the floor of the truck, skidding around during turns, etc. Even our queen mattress had over a foot of up to 1 1/2" splinters on the side where it leaned and rubbed against the wood railings during the drive up to Georgetown! My husband and I were at the apartment early the next morning . . . and the next and the next day, too! IT NEVER SHOWED UP! I asked to speak to the OWNER and was told he was out of town until TUESDAY and that HE WOULD GIVE ME A CALL FIRST THING TUESDAY MORNING HE NEVER CALLED US EITHER We DID contact the credit card company gokingmovers.com had charged our move to prior to permitting our furniture to be removed and requested they reverse/withhold the charges. THEY DID REVERSE the charges and gave gokingmovers.com 45 days to re-submit. A couple of weeks later is when I received the call from the Claims departments saying they wouldn't resubmit the charges IF I DROPPED THE CLAIMS REPORT. When I said no, I was put on hold and told one of the owners, Jason, was now on the speaker phone and after telling him of our horrid experience, was told he would have the Furniture Doctor call that day to make an appointment to look at our damage, get back to him and come out to make the repairs promptly. Then, he'd talk to us about further compensations we requested. After nearly 3 weeks, we still haven't heard from either the Furniture Doctor nor Jason. The Owners of GoKingMovers.com should be totally ashamed of their employees? representation and lack of respect and handling of our move.
Description of Work: A representative came to our apartment and gave us a written quote for a 4 man, 2 truck, 8-hour move from Broomfield, CO to Georgetown, CO . . . 6 pieces to be picked up from our parent's home 15 minutes away, all furniture to be shrink and blanket wrapped . . . knocked down and set up . . . their FULL SERVICE service. They NEVER gave us the 10% senior discount their website said to request "after" their quote was given us. They showed up 4 hours late . . . 9 hours later when they still hadn't packed 1/2 of the large furniture pieces, I asked them to stop and head up to Georgetown around 8 PM. One truck showed up at 10 PM and didn't finish unloading all the boxes and commercial tubs into our garage until 4:30 AM The other truck didn't show, nor call, nor answer any calls from us until 9 AM the next morning and couldn't unload UNTIL WE PAID 100% for the move as quoted. The representative PROMISED he'd send another truck the next day to complete our move, place and set up all furniture and bring the boxes into the correct rooms in our home that were in the garage. THIS NEVER HAPPENED . . . My husband and I, both in our 60's had to compete the move in 6 round trips in our own truck and vehicle. They called us 2 months later, apologized, and said they'd have the Furniture Doctor call the same day and come out to repair nearly EVERY PIECE of furniture we own that was scratched, dented or torn due to NOT BEING shrink/nor blanket wrapped. We had presented gokingmovers.com with a 48 page damage claim with photos . . . over 40 pieces of furniture and belongings were damaged. It's been nearly 3 weeks now, and we still haven't gotten that call. We filed a claim against the $1875 they collected that day . . . paid a $50 deposit . . . plus, we paid the workers $700 cash . . . provided lunch and dinner and snacks . . . had to pay for a motel for 2 nights AND 6 round trips for our 2 vehicles and more! Go King Movers NEVER completed the move!

It actually went GREAT! They sent and On-site specialist to my home to give me and estimate of the cost so there would be no discrepancy with the cost. Therefore, the cost was acceptable for my budget and fair. Then the mover arrived and padded and wrapped my belongings very neatly, which I appreciated. Then they unloaded and my belonging and put my bedroom set in order. They later sent a Professional White Service Safe Crew to install my SAFE DISCREETLY. THEY WERE SUPER!!! TRY GO KING MOVING AND STORAGE 303-751-7714
Description of Work: The company did my and they were very professional and courteous. I loved the customer service that I received from office personnel and the mover as well. I would recommend GO KING MOVING AND STORAGE they are very great!! HOWEVER, I HAD INITIALLY CONFUSED THEM WITH KING MOVING AND STORAGE THEY ARE A DIFFENT COMPANY!! This company is better and the prices are compactable with todays economy.

They did an excellent job! When first meeting the movers they greeted me with a smile on their face. From then on they treated all my furniture and belonging with the best care. They made sure that everything made it to my new house with not even a scratch. They were also very timely with the move and with consideration to driving time, and how much stuff I have they did a great job! Usually moving can be very stressful but they made it fun and exciting for me and allowed me to enjoy my new home.
Description of Work: The movers came to my house, wrapped all my furniture and did everything from there to the new house and handled all my belongings.

I used Go King to move my mother out of her five bedroom two story house in Lowry to a smaller ranch style home in Hilltop with a short stay in storage . I had spoken with other moving companies and they were very quick to give me an estimate sight unseen over the phone. My concerns about blind estimates were immediately allayed when I spoke with Paulina. She scheduled a visit for that afternoon and arrived promptly. As we walked the house Paulina offered us great advice on packing and wrapping valuables and even provided us with a checklist we could use (regardless of which moving company we used). The Go King estimate was about 20% higher than the phone estimates I?d received but I was confident that it was more accurate and complete than the generic phone estimates so we booked. Seven days before the move the contractor informed us that the work on the new home wouldn?t be complete in time for the move. Panicked, I called Go King to postpone the move. Paulina was out sick so I was connected to Bruno; rather than postponing the entire move Bruno offered to store my mom?s entire house in their warehouse, for FREE. Another weight had been lifted from my shoulders! Move out day came and the Go King crew was prompt, careful, and professional. The move took about six hours and was completely painless. After about two weeks the construction was finished and the move in from storage went even more smoothly than the move out. I strongly recommend Go King to all my friends and will use them any time I need anything moved.

1. I asked for Neighbors Moving & Storage and that's who I investigated, not King movers! 2. I asked for an extra person so that my stuff would be protected while moving from the Apartment to the truck and while in the truck. This did not happened!! I went down stairs after about a half an hour to see what was taking place and the movers were stacking up all of my equipment and beds, etc.. in the downstairs (1 floor) common apartments area. Many of the residences stated that I was blocking their path to walk from the elevator to the dinning (common area) on the first floor. I asked specifically if you could move the items from the apartment into the truck directly and then I paid for a 4th man to watch the truck (and no he can't see all of the items inside while sitting on the truck - and I didn't want the items sitting in the common area anyways). 3. The all got made at me when I said they have to take it from the elevator to the truck, said they were professionals and they're not going to be treated this way? I tried to explain it wasn't about them but they were made the whole time anyways - so you guys in MGT didn't communicate the expectations of the move? I asked if you were OK with the expectations and if you weren't then I would have called other movers who would have agreed to the arrangement! 4. They wouldn't listen when I said how to get the couch down the (the top portion has to face down and inside toward the corners), so they burned an extra half an hour since they no more than me and the reason I know how to move it down the stairs is because the original movers had the same issue moving it up the stairs! 5. I was told they would follow me and then as we were driving west on 13th and I turned on Corona, they continue straight. Then I caught up with them on Broadway and they were heading South and I got in front of them and was going to turn right on 8th Ave. but they kept going straight, then they turned left (east) on Alameda. I circled around and found them in McDonalds and they said they were getting lunch? After they got lunch I said OK where are we going now? They said were following you, I pulled out and went left on Alameda (now going west) and they went straight North down Lincoln? The lead called the manager who contacted them and they said they didn't see us go left? 6. They finally followed me to my new Townhome and everything was going OK unloading and then the lead guy said they only had a half an hour left and had to just unload everything in the garage. They did move some items into the dinning room, but the majority of my boxes marked Master Bedroom or MB are now in the garage. 7. Now I have to hire a day laborer to come over and move my items up stairs, which weren't moved by King moving. 8. Ancillary issues: They didn't inventory anything, so I don't really know if anything is missing. Every other company at least puts stickers on each box they move and has this as an inventory. The movers kept stating they knew what they were doing and this is what they do for a living, I've moved ten times in about 8 years not to mention moving myself with my brothers many times while I was younger and I know how to move stuff also, I'm 57 and I'm not moving stuff any longer!! That doesn't mean I don't know how!! I paid well over the original quote (over $1000) and didn't even get the boxes moved into the "3" locations I discussed with the lead before he unloaded the truck - 1. HiFi equipment into the Dinning room - was completed except for a few boxes, 2. Master Bedroom I asked that all boxes marked as Master Bedroom or MB were moved into the second bedroom - 15-20 boxes in the garage, 3. The remaining boxes could stay in the Garage - OK.

see my note for Neighbors Moving. This is the same company! I have moved several times and have never seen the damage and cost overrun as these guys. The estimate over by more than $2000.00. Furniture broken, lost, damaged, not stored/wrapped properly causing more damage. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!

2 movers arrived mid morning and asked to see what was to be moved to gauge the amount of material, furniture etc. Said that everything possible need to be boxed except furniture pieces and similar items. Determined a larger truck needed and returned to Denver to obtain it.This is about a 60 mile trip each way. Returned about 2pm to begin. Spent afternoon packing truck with items from both garage and apt. Pleasant enough and seemed to work pretty steadily, very chatty and at times made some pretty poor comments about the quality/honesty of others they worked with. About 4:30 they took packed truck to storage to unload so they could return and get the remained of items.. Proceeded to do this while daughter ran an errand. Part way through unloading they stopped and said they could not unload the remaining 1/2 of the truck unless they were paid. This seemed srtange and since business was now closed and no communication available with mgmt. I provided a credit card, he filled out the contract specifics and said he needed to make an imprint of the credit card but could not at that time, but would back at the apt. Finished unloading and we went back. They then wanted to make the imprint of the CC and wrote the numeric info down. They would not provide a copy of the contract but said it would be mailed. Rather than move the remaining furniture, TVs, boxed clothes, dining room chairs, side rails and slats for 1 of the beds previously moved they griped about wanting to get out on the road back to Denver. This they proceeded to do since thry had my CC number etc. We spent the next day and 1/2 moving items ourselves and with the help of some of her friends. I have subsequently found out this company has operated under 7 different names, via bankrupttacys and the Colorado PUC has developed a good sized file on them. No copy of the contract has been sent.

My husband set up this service, he didn't know I had an Angie's List subscription, and I didn't check it out because I never asked him the name of the provider. After waiting two hours, we called and got a voicemail and looked them up on the List and saw how horrible they were. We already have another service from another company lined up for tomorrow and are thinking the no show was a blessing in disguise, at least all of our stuff won't get destroyed or lost somewhere in the five mile move. We do need to get our deposit back, though. Update 6/3/13: First off, I need to say that the actual movers were GREAT, we really enjoyed them. Our refrigerator got a little dinged up but otherwise everything was great. However ... we contracted for a three man crew and only two arrived. They worked for five hours, and we were charged for the three man crew. Since movers pretty much hold your stuff hostage on the truck until you sign and pay, we didn't have a choice right then but to sign the Bill of Lading. I called the original guy we set up service with at Father and Son at 303-573-1500, and he sounded like an entirely different person. Whereas Friday he was chipper and helpful, this morning he sounded sullen and uninterested. He directed me to customer service. I called her and she said I had to call King at 303-751-7714 and talk to Chuck or Robert. I called King and got a voice mail. I then called the number on the Neighbors invoice, and it's disconnected. Now trying to go through the Neighbors site ... their live chat isn't really a live chat, their "call me" service on the site has their robodialer call and then basically calls and says "nobody is available" and hangs up. Now trying their quote line, of course they pick that up. Guy on the phone at Neighbors is super nice, but he is in Florida and he wants me to call King (at the 303-751-7714 number) because even though Neighbors is on the invoice and he knows everything about my move to the penny, apparently they're not responsible. He called King and let them a message to call me ... so we'll see. Update 6/6/13 - No call back, but got a number off the prior job confirmation (that nobody showed up for), talked to the sales manager Robert who seems fine with getting this corrected. Will update as we progress. Update 6/21/13 - Several emails now, one response from Wade saying he'd take care of it, but no refund processed yet and I've sent a few emails. Update 8/15/13 - I meant to update this a few weeks ago, summer intruded. We did receive our refund, but it sure was a lot of work. So all in all, the movers didn't break anything and were great to spend the morning with, but the back office support both in setting up the time they would be out (calling at 11:00 PM) and afterwards left a lot to be desired.
Description of Work: Nothing. They didn't show up. Update 6/3/13: They didn't show up on Friday, the contracted date. We called another company, Father & Son/Neighbors, and set up a move for 6/1/13. The guys who showed up were wearing Father & Sons shirts, but driving a King truck, and the invoice said it was for Neighbors. Very confusing, I don't know who we're working with here.

This move went terrible from the beginning when they were one hour late and lied about the reason they were late. They had no shrink wrap or tools on the truck. They were careless in handling my furniture and I saw them dragging my Tempurpedic mattress and they stacked things recklessly in the truck. They borrowed my tools to take a apart some of the furniture. When they got to my new apartment they began stalling. My daughter and I kept checking on them and they were sitting in their truck smoking. What should have taken no more than 2 hours went well into the evening. We started noticing damage on everything they brought into the apartment. A broken wooden piece on an antique mirror, grease on the cover of the mattress, scratches on glass tables, a cracked TV stand and a huge hole in a hand made wooden computer desk that my husband had made for me. They had told me not to empty my clothing dresser or my file cabinets because they had shrink wrap. My daughter saw them drop my clothing on to the ground when they carried the dresser up side down. The contents of my file cabinets were bent and scrambled. They had stacked a filled metal file cabinet on top of my hand made wood desk. It put a huge hole in it. They did not assemble my bed correctly, as they said they would and it fell apart while I was sleeping. After waiting several hours, the owner came to my new apt to inspect the damage. He said it was inexcusable and they would pay for or fix the damage. I was only charged for one hour..168.00. From this point forward I went through a two and 1/2 month nightmare. Every time I called this company they lied to me. They hung up on me. they said they'd send me money, they did not. They said they'd send me a claim form, they did not. Finally I filed a claim with BBB. As a result an insurance adjusting company had me fill out a claim form and I faxed this to them with pictures of the damage. They received it and said it was processing. Finally they sent me a letter stating that they could not process the claim because while moving me they used the name Empire Relocation, and in reality it was now KING moving and storage, and they did not have any insurance under that name. All a scam. BBB continued to try and get this company to resolve my case. They did not. They kept saying they would, but never did. I never received one dime from them or any help to fix my things. BBB closed the case as un-resolved. This company was deceitful and disrespectful to me from the start. I am devastated that I worked so hard to plan this move and make it easy for them and trusted them and hired them in good faith and then spent months trying to get them to help me and they never did. They keep changing their name back and forth with a fake GOOD REVIEW showing on their website. If you go to BBB you can see how fraudulent they are with over 200 complaints against them. Again KING Moving and EMPIRE Relocation are one in the same moving company with the same owner at the same address of 2153 S Wabash st in Denver, Co. The owners email is Jprice@king-movingandstorage.com. and they have numerous phone numbers including 720-250-9197, 800-828-7219, 303-751-6715. They moved me from 12150 Washington Center Parkway in Thornton, Co to 14770 Orchard Parkway in Broomfield Colorado, only 15 minutes away.
Description of Work: This company, King Moving and Storage, located at 2153 S Wabash St in Denver Colorado is the SAME company as Empire Relocation Moving and storage at the same address with the same owner and all information. I hired this company to do an easy job of moving some large furniture (no boxes) from one apt to another only 15 minutes away.
