Description of Work: Initially, I wanted them to fix my gas log fireplace. Unfortunately, the system was not fixable, so they recommended I order a new log kit, and they could install it. Once my logs arrived, I made an appointment and they spent about an hour and a half installing the logs.

Description of Work: Clogged vacuum lines at my dental office..... no suction.

Description of Work: A toilet in our new home leaked through to the floor below. Lord and Reiser came out on the same day we called with two techs. Work and communication was professional and personable. The problem was diagnosed quickly and the repair has held up after rigorous use.

Description of Work: I came back from a business trip to discover that my hot water heater had finally given up. I contacted L&R because of Angie's list. I know next to nothing about hot water heaters, however I did a little web research. When I explained the situation to L&R every reccomendation they made matched with what I had found. They gave me a fixed price for the water heater and install. I should add that the house is a 1957 build. Once the old water heater was out, certain issues were found with the sub floor and surrounding tile. L&R showed me the issue, and explained several options for how to solve the problem, and the positives and negatives of each option. I don't feel like they compelled me to choose either option, however because of their thorough explanation I chose the more expensive option. They immediately went out and purchased supplies, and did a top notch job of completing the installation. Once everything was complete, they showed me the bill, and explained that it would be cheaper to do the entire job as time and materials, rather than go with the fixed fee for the installation, and time and materials for the extra work. This was amazing to me because basically they were very efficient and timely with what they did, yet felt compelled to offer the profit for their efficiency to me. I will be calling them again for sure.

Description of Work: Kitchen faucet replaced. Cleaned out a bathtub drain.

Description of Work: Diagnosed problem of a toilet leaking at the floor of a basement bathroom,and installed a floor collar into the concrete flooring. They al;so replaced two O rings in kitchen sink faucet.

Description of Work: We needed a Moen shower replaced. The plumber came by promptly and fixed the problem in no time. They also checked the condition of the master water valve for the house.

Description of Work: Our amateur attempts to clean out a clogged bathroom lav drain resulted in melted pipes! Icky drain-cleaning chemicals everywhere - it was a total disaster. Reiser showed up on time, replaced all of the damaged pipes promptly and professionally, and completely cleaned up after himself. Great job at a great price!

Description of Work: All 3 bathroom sinks had faucet leaks due to age & wear, requiring a few small parts to fix them. One toilet needed only to have its old, worn-out flapper replaced. the other toilet (a low-flow) developed a constant slow leak from the tank, emptying & refilling all day and night. Also, its fill valve would stick so that we would have to manually start the fill after the tank emptied. I called Lord & Reiser Plumbing to set up an appointment after visiting Angie's List. Since we wanted these problems fixed, we didn't opt for a cost estimate before having them repaired, but Rich and Derek explained to us what was needed, and got our OK on cost before proceeding.

Description of Work: We had a leak from our kitchen faucet. It is a single handle type with hoses from the supply lines going up into the main body of the valve The water would leak down those hoses whenever we turned the water on. I thought that the whole assembly would have to be removed and repaired or replaced. However, it turned out that the connection to the spray nozzle on the faucet was loose, and tightening it stopped the leak. Lord and Reiser Plumbing not only analyzed the problem immediately and fixed the leak, they took steps to make sure that the cause of the leak was corrected. Great people, and a pleasure to do business with.

Description of Work: water dripping from the ceiling in the basement bathroom They had to cut the ceiling and found a copper pipe leaking (had a pin hole). Replaced the pipe.

Description of Work: They repaired a leaky pipe in a very hard to reach place of a finshed ceiling. They also replaced a wax ring in an toilet. Their advice as to next steps with the toilet was very useful, in case the ring replacement didn't work. I'd had problems with that toilet and had replaced the ring myself several times.They didn't suggest that I replace the ring but after talking with them it seemed a best and cheapest triage step next if necessary comes the smoke test. The leaky pipe was cleared up quickly and apparently easily, I would have had substantial problems doing this myself and probably would have had to call someone anyway after I was done. They cleaned up after themselves so that my wife had no complaints. I think they charged less than they might have. As far as I was concerned the price was more then excellent. They gave a clear statement of their availability, they called a half-hour before arrival, they were personable as well as professional. I would recommend them to anyone (even my mom if she needed that kind of work).

I used a coupon from Angie's List for the Service call, but that was not subtractedfrom the labor charge as most companies do.. They didn't have the right part and had to go to the store to buy it and charged me for the time it took to run to the store. He noticed that the water to the sprinkler system hadn't been turned off and fixed that for me.
