*********UPDATE: The owner did come a few days after this entry and did mow and weed-eat the yard, and cleaned up the fall leaf debris. He was not able to aerate, but I told him that I didn't want him to return and do any more work. He did spend time doing work and I felt it was enough to have earned the cost of the service I had bought. *****
The job went very well. Stephen and his men were easy to communicate with, pleasant and hardworking. They did what I hoped they would do and more. All debris was taken away, my pathways were totally cleaned and cleared. The areas looked so much better then I ever could have imagined. Everything looked fresh and well cared for. They even cleaned and swept my driveway, sidewalk and street. Stephen followed up to make sure everything was done to my satisfaction.
I will definitely have Starrworks Enterprise return to do more work for me.Two males arrived in the early afternoon, assessed the work needed to be done and set to work immediately. They worked for a solid four hours. Ryan returned the next day and worked very hard to finish the job. Once completed, he told me all that was done and asked if I was satisfied. I was extremely happy with the effort that was made.
My only complaint was that an appointment was set for work to commence @ 9 a.m. I called at 10:30 to inquire when the employees were due to arrive and was told that they should arrive momentarily. They didn't arrive until approximately 2 1/2 hours later. If there is a delay for any reason, I appreciate a phone call to let me know. My time is valuable too!!! That being said, I appreciate the effort made by Ryan and the other man (sorry that I did not get his name).
I purchased a package deal through an Angie's List daily special for Spring lawn aeration, fertilization, and power raking combo. I contacted Starrworks Enterprise and scheduled the date for service at 11:00 am on the 4/6/2012. My wife waited for four hours and nobody showed up...not even a phone call. My wife and I repeatedly called them all afternoon and left messages asking for an explanation and nobody returned the calls. On the the morning of the April 8th, Mr. Starr showed up unannounced to perform the service which he completed off and on throughout the day between equipment malfunctions (can't blame him for that). The power raking was poor as our lawn showed no difference after the service, if it was done at all. Unfortunately, since Starrworks arrived without scheduling, we had other appointments that day to attend to so we weren't able to stay home and monitor the service. We also discovered that they had broken a sprinkler despite the fact that all were clearly marked and I had personally pointed out their locations to Mr. Starr when he arrived.
I called them daily from the 10th to the 13th to complain about the service and only received an answering machine with no call backs. Frustrated, I repaired the sprinkler myself. On the 14th, my wife and I returned home to see that our lawn had been mowed but the power raking still wasn't done. Deciding that it wasn't worth the hassle I let it go.
On the morning of April 25th, I turned on my sprinklers and noticed that Starrworks had broken another sprinkler with their service from the 14th. Aggravated I called them again and actually spoke with a real person who assured me that Mr. Starr would return my call and repair the sprinkler. Nothing heard until the morning of the 27th, when we received a call from an employee stating that he would be at our house between 0930-1030. At 1130, Mr. Starr called and said that his employee was enroute. Nobody showed up or called again. I fixed this other sprinkler myself this morning (28th).
Poor customer service, unsatisfactory work, and no follow up all deem this business unworthy of my future business and I absolutely would not recommend this company unless you have low expectations of yard work and customer service. A $75 deal sounded great but I would have gradly paid twice that not to have experienced all this aggravation.
