They need to have all their equipment, in good working order when they arrive on the job.

I purchased the big deal coupon for this service and it took him a while to get here.  I just had trouble scheduling it because he had equipment problems.  My experience with him was neutral I guess.  Once he got the equipment fixed, I was able to schedule it.  It was kind of back and forth, about when he was coming or when he wasn’t coming.  His price was good though.

They did all A's and they were good.

The appointment kept getting rescheduled and rescheduled because they didn't show up when they were supposed to.  And that was only because I called them, they didn't call me.  It was one excuse after another.  I finally told them that I wanted to cancel the contract and wanted a refund.  The next morning, they showed up, unannounced, and did it anyways.  Not a good experience at all.

We made an appt. with Starrworks but they had to cancel at the last minute. It took some time to finally reschedule because of the volume of work they had due to the coupon special.  On May 1st they came out and completed the job of the back yard, but what impressed me the most was the additional service of the front yard at no cost!  They apologized for my having to wait so long for my appointment.  I really appreciated that.

It was fine.  I did have to have his crew come back to get some areas that I thought should have been leaf-blown.  And he did send his crew back and took care of - in a prompt manner.

They were very professional.  The prices very very competitive and the work was exceptional.

Guy was super nice, but left too many spots

I don't have anything good to say about them so I wouldn't refer them.  I felt the price was too high for what they did.  It was overall lousy service.  It took me a month to set up the service with them after purchasing the coupon through Amazon.

Foreman, Steve, assigned person to seal leaks on roof before hail storm.  Roof was later slammed by hail.Steve did a great job on repairing stucco on and in window wells and painting them.  He is eager to do a good job but often has too many things to do and has difficulty finishing a job but it eventually gets done.  I pay  a flat fee/hour rate and he will do work for that.I want him to bid on roof repair, gutter replacement and garage door replacement as my insurance company is involved.

Upon my return, I left a couple more message before getting a call back.  I was told there had been a family emergency, but that they were ready to come back to work.  I can understand that, of course.  Mr. Swan said he would come on 5/8 but it rained, so I got a call saying they would be to my home on 5/9. They did not come and I don't know why, but then on Saturday afternoon I returned from errands and there was a note on the door stating Mr. Swan came to do the work but no one was home. We had already talked about the fact I didn't need to be home, as it is only the front yard I wanted work on. No one had told me they were planning to come on Saturday in the first place, or I could have been home that day. I called and left a voicemail again, and did get a call back Saturday or Sunday and he said he'd gotten things confused and would be out on Wednesday 5/16. No one came 5/16 or today 5/17. I've left messages again the last 3 days, and have not heard from anyone. Time to do the yard work is passing, and is probably now too late to see much improvement.  I'm not satisfied at all with their customer service or responsiveness.  They apparently wanted to do the work since the Angie's list coupon was online, and they scheduled time to do it, but never showed up and completed the job.  They are not responding now and I don't appreciate being taken advantage of.  My yard has been in horrible condition, it was a foreclosure home and has needed a lot of work. So... now I'm going to have to find someone to come and deal with even worse conditions since the leaf debris is now covered by some grass and weeds. At this point, I've asked for my money back. Please, consider carefully before pursuing doing business with this company. I'm not sure what has happened, perhaps they over-extended themselves with so many online offers in a busy time of year for yard work.  I had even been interested in having more yard work done to my larger back yard, and mentioned that on one of my first voicemails, but they never responded to that question.  By then I had gotten a bad feeling about how this was going to go.  I will be looking for another compay to do those improvements in the back.  If I get any kind of resolution to this issue, I will update this posting.  I've had good success with Angie's list previously. 

*********UPDATE:  The owner did come a few days after this entry and did mow and weed-eat the yard, and cleaned up the fall leaf debris.  He was not able to aerate, but I told him that I didn't want him to return and do any more work.  He did spend time doing work and I felt it was enough to have earned the cost of the service I had bought. *****

The job went very well. Stephen and his men were easy to communicate with, pleasant and hardworking. They did what I hoped they would do and more. All debris was taken away, my pathways were totally cleaned and cleared. The areas looked so much better then I ever could have imagined. Everything looked fresh and well cared for.  They even cleaned and swept my driveway, sidewalk and street. Stephen followed up to make sure everything was done to my satisfaction.

 I will definitely have Starrworks Enterprise return to do more work for me.

We took advantage of special Angie's List deal.  They came when I wasn't home, but job well done.

On one repair, I don't think the contractor correctly diagnosed the problem and cause more problems when he did the repair.  He made the situation worse.   On the second repair, the contractor started the repair, and then disappeared for a week with the job half done.  After we tracked him down, he finished it, but agian the workmanship was of prro quality.

This was a short notice request from me and they performed the work within the requested time frame. The two gentlemen were quick and thorough and cleaned up afterwards. I would hire Starrworks again for this work.

It was an Angie's List special. They did not call me so I had to keep calling them to find out when they were coming to do my yard so that kind of ticked me off. I had paid for it and then never heard from them. I had to email them and then finally they emailed me back. They were not easy to get hold of. They did do the work; they were just a little slow. They were very difficult to reach. They didn't have a receptionist and I had to leave a message every time I called or emailed them. They did eventually get back within 24 hours so I could tell they were a mom and pop job, which was fine. The price and quality were excellent. I was not there when they did the work. They were nice when I actually talked to them. I would not use them again because they were too slow.

Initially, they were very good about contacting me, however they were 3.5 hrs late the first day and didn't call me to let me know, so I thought they were a no-show.   After they were an hour late, I called and the lady who works their office was surprised they weren't here.  It took almost another hour for them to call me back and explain that another job had run long and that they would be on their way soon, however I informed them that it was unprofessional to just not show up without calling and letting me know about the delay.  Soon turned into another 1.5 hours.  Once they were here, they were very pleasant.  The works ended up running into the following day.  They got about 75% of the specific things I asked and I felt I got our $150 worth most definitely (+$25 for the rubbish trailer to take everything to the dump).

Mr Starr suffered equipment failure with the aeration machine when it had to be repaired.  That delayed the project for 3 days.  The crew chunked the job down into three parts over 3 days and got it done.  Mr. Starr offered to give me a free mow to make up for the hassle.  I have yet to take him up on it, though.

I purchased an Angies' List "big deal" for a Spring Lawn Clean-Up, Shrub Trimming, etc.  Within a day or two, I received a phone call from Steve to set an appointment for the yard work.  We decided that I would call at a later dated to set up an appointment.

Two males arrived in the early afternoon, assessed the work needed to be done and set to work immediately.  They worked for a solid four hours.  Ryan returned the next day and worked very hard to finish the job.  Once completed, he told me all that was done and asked if I was satisfied.  I was extremely happy with the effort that was made.

My only complaint was that an appointment was set for work to commence @ 9 a.m.  I called at 10:30 to inquire when the employees were due to arrive and was told that they should arrive momentarily.  They didn't arrive until approximately 2 1/2 hours later.  If there is a delay for any reason, I appreciate a phone call to let me know.  My time is valuable too!!!  That being said, I appreciate the effort made by Ryan and the other man (sorry that I did not get his name).

Some of the poorest customer service that I've seen in a long time.

 I purchased a package deal through an Angie's List daily special for Spring lawn aeration, fertilization, and power raking combo. I contacted Starrworks Enterprise and scheduled the date for service at 11:00 am on the 4/6/2012. My wife waited for four hours and nobody showed up...not even a phone call. My wife and I repeatedly called them all afternoon and left messages asking for an explanation and nobody returned the calls. On the the morning of the April 8th, Mr. Starr showed up unannounced to perform the service which he completed off and on throughout the day between equipment malfunctions (can't blame him for that). The power raking was poor as our lawn showed no difference after the service, if it was done at all. Unfortunately, since Starrworks arrived without scheduling, we had other appointments that day to attend to so we weren't able to stay home and monitor the service. We also discovered that they had broken a sprinkler despite the fact that all were clearly marked and I had personally pointed out their locations to Mr. Starr when he arrived.

 I called them daily from the 10th to the 13th to complain about the service and only received an answering machine with no call backs. Frustrated, I repaired the sprinkler myself. On the 14th, my wife and I returned home to see that our lawn had been mowed but the power raking still wasn't done. Deciding that it wasn't worth the hassle I let it go.

On the morning of April 25th, I turned on my sprinklers and noticed that Starrworks had broken another sprinkler with their service from the 14th. Aggravated I called them again and actually spoke with a real person who assured me that Mr. Starr would return my call and repair the sprinkler. Nothing heard until the morning of the 27th, when we received a call from an employee stating that he would be at our house between 0930-1030. At 1130, Mr. Starr called and said that his employee was enroute.  Nobody showed up or called again. I fixed this other sprinkler myself this morning (28th). 

Poor customer service, unsatisfactory work, and no follow up all deem this business unworthy of my future business and I absolutely would not recommend this company unless you have low expectations of yard work and customer service. A $75 deal sounded great but I would have gradly paid twice that not to have experienced all this aggravation.

The yard is now clean enough to eat off of.
