"I'm disappointed that ProCare's service was not to your satisfaction. ProCare does employ several Independent Contractors (IC). During initial consultations, it is our policy to mention that scheduling may require the use of one of those ICs in order to provide the service requested. It is true that one of my associates did visit your home on 18 June 2014. I did accompany her on that visit. When she returned for the next visit on 19 June, she was bitten rather severely by Krispy. I then took over for her and returned for visits on the 20-24 July. During my visits, Krispy did make several attempts at biting me. He ripped my shorts on one occasion. I did appreciate the fact that you compensated ProCare for medical expenses and would have enjoyed serving you in the future if not for this unfortunate situation. I’m also disappointed that throughout our communications following the 18 June incident you did not raise any concerns until writing this review over one year later."
"This client is a pet sitter who was hired by the property owner to take care of the pets while the property owner was deployed overseas. The client (pet sitter) hired us to fill in while they themselves travelled. If you can imagine being a pet in this situation. The stress of being cared for by a pet sitter while your owner is away on a long absence, and then being cared for by another group of people you don't know - the pet sitter's pet sitter. We have hundreds of satisfied clients and we encourage them to let us know if there is ever anything they are unhappy with about our service. This client did not express any dissatisfaction with us, and it further speaks volumes that after our first three series of short visits they did not put forth an effort to locate another pet sitter when they went on vacations four and five. The client did not complete their intake paperwork, which is where they would have written instructions regarding how to take care of the pets and the home. ProCare filled out the paperwork for the client during the consultation and filled in the notes as completely as possible. Consequently, the client has indicated that there were a few things missed such as where we disposed of the cat food cans. (ProCare now has an online client portal where the customer can log in at any time to fill out and update those instructions.) Three of the complaints this client has made are weather related issues: the dogs outside play time, the outdoor fishpond, and the property owner's vehicle. The property is located in a heavily wooded area; there were massive amounts of snow and the temperatures reached below zero. The dogs played outside for as long as they wanted; ProCare did not force the dogs to stay outside in massive snowdrifts and sub-zero temperatures. The heater on the fishpond could not keep up with the weather; ProCare updated the client regarding its condition and paid for the repair even though there was nothing we could have done in our limited service agreement to prevent the damage. Neither the client nor the property owner had anyone clear the long uphill driveway of snow drifts (it is the responsibility of the client to ensure the property is accessible) and ProCare damaged the property owner's vehicle attempting to maneuver the drifts. ProCare paid for the damage to the vehicle. As to the client's other complaints. We were present in the home when one of the cats knocked the plate off the kitchen counter. The client said desk papers were ruffled and that a hutch cover and statue were knocked on the floor; there is no doubt the cats are capable of doing these things. The client asked why a light/ceiling fan were left on; ProCare rotates lights in the house each day to make the home look lived in. The client said there was a rash on one of the dogs; there was no such rash present while in our care. With apologies to the public for taking this long to respond. ProCare felt that any response to this review would exacerbate an already very difficult relationship and situation. As time has passed we have come to understand that every review needs to receive a response. Certainly, this relationship was out of the ordinary. We learned a lot from it and are a better company because of it."
