P.S. I am generally pretty suspicious of anything and anyone that has to do with cars, car repair, and car maintenance...If this is shtick, these guys deserve an Academy award! :) I honestly felt like I was back in my little hometown in the Midwest, and that is saying something.

No doubt I prefer them over the Lexus dealership or any other questionable business that is trying to make more money by attempting to add more services that I don't need.

You would think the failure was due to something related to the 240k maintenance that was just completed but Paul told me that the distributor assembly had failed and needed to be replaced (i.e., this problem was not related to the 240k maintenance). To keep costs down, he ordered and installed a non-OEM replacement (which I didn't mind, as long as it was reliable). He also gave me back the original distributor assembly since the bearings and other parts of assembly were still good and could be used in the future. On top of that, he capped the cost under $400 (it was a lot more than that) due to the situation of just having to pay for the 240k the day before.
Why would I go back? They were honest and sympathetic. It was clear they just wanted to do the right thing and they were trying to make best of my bad set of circumstances.
Another short story: back in November 2012, they were conducting another maintenance on the same car and found that some of my tires were worn dangerously thin on the inside side of the tread (where no one could see it unless it was up on a hydraulic lift). My tires were suffering from uneven wear - they looked okay when you looked at them but they were worn down to the cords on the inside treads of the tire. These guys found something that was a very serious safety issue - those tires could of blown out at any time.
It is examples like these that make Japanese Connection a great place to go for car repairs/service.n

What a pleasant experience I had with the folks at Japanese Connection Inc Auto Repair! Not only are they good at what they do, but they really take good care of their customers as though the customers are their friends. Two mechanics spent about 20 min of their time on the diagnosis and fixing of the problem, and they did it for free. I wanted to pay for their work, but they insisted that it was a small problem and declined my offer of payment.
The least I can do is to give them a thumps-up; I definitely recommend them to any one with a car repair need in Colorado Springs, and I will go to them again if I have any car problems in the future.

It took 2 days to finish the work because the transmission had to be removed and remounted, but they have a courtesy van (with no waiting!) for drop off and pick-up, so no problem there. They also gave you a list of recommended repairs and make sure you understand what repairs may be dangerous and should be done immediately and what can wait. Another thing I really appreciate is that the guys at JC do not give me the hard sell on services I don't need. The waiting room is not posh but they do have wireless internet, and you don't get the feeling your paying for the "free popcorn", leather seats and gianormous big screen TV's they have at the dealerships!
Overall, I would highly recommend Japanese Connection. The guys are friendly and knowledgeable and their prices are very fair. I did not get an estimate from the dealership but I know it would have been far more.
