He came over the house a few times to move light fixtures and replace them with ceiling fans.  In addition, he made a gate for deck.  He also removed a closet door and was asked to replace it with another door, but the door needed to be painted.  He painted the door and after the first coat he quick the job.
His attitude was more like doing a chore instead of a job.  He got paid for whatever he was asked to do.  He was scheduled to come over a few times to finish the work, but he did not call to cancel, call late, or other times did not call at all.  Many times I had to text him to find out if he was coming or not.  When he quit, he did not have the courtesy to call me or my husband in person, instead he sent a text message!
He knows what he is doing and makes a good job, but he is unreliable and unprofessional.

Greg stopped by the day that I called and gave me a verbal estimate.  He returned in very cold weather the next morning on time and installed braces on the fence gate, aligned it and made what had been an inoperable gate very easy to open, close, and lock.  He did need to replace a pale and took extra time to go to the store to get it.  His workmanship was excellent and I would highly recommend him.

Gregg started out well as we had a lot of tasks to get our old house ready to sell. He did good quality work at a decent price. We overlooked his starting late or leaving early, since he was so cheap, and after moving, we started using him for tasks in the new house. However, his failure to show up became chronic, and he missed several days, a couple of them w/o advance notice, saying he had to work overtime at his "regular" job. Today, again, he simply failed to show up w/o calling first, and my husband had taken time off work, expecting to install a swing set with him. If you can handle the lack of reliability or need someone for a quick one-off job, he knows what he's doing.  But if you are looking for someone dependable for more or larger projects, keep looking.

Mr. Valdez showed up right on time --- amazing how hard it is just to get THAT these days. He removed and replaced a light fixture in our 2 story entry/foyer. He also removed blinds and curtain rod from window 2 stories up in entryway. He was careful not to scratch walls with the ladders and paid special attention to detail including the appearance of the cord inside the chain, the height of the fixture and so-on.
In a freak accident, a link of chain fell while he was adjusting the height, breaking one of the glass globes. He immediately went to Lowes and obtained a replacement.
I had him look at a few other projects around the house and expect to have him back. His price was about 20% lower than what another handyman had quoted me so he got the extra 20% in tip anyway :)
He has over 20 years experience in construction and can do most projects except new installation due to his license.

It was and excellent job from start to finish.  He did everything I requested and was very reasonable in pricing. The gate is working fine and he repaired the wood rather than replacing the main post the gate was hanging on.

He came over and fixed everything!  Repaired and painted over the holes, securely installed hangars and just made it look great.  I shouldn't have waited so long to have the work done.  I have some more work and need to call him up to get on his calendar (I think I had to wait a week or so last time, but quality work is worth it!).

He did what he said he would do and charged the price that was quoted.  My floors look great and the I can't even tell a patch was done in my ceiling.  He made it look like it was before the water damage.  He did an amazing job.

One job in particular was a pipe or something was leaking in to the garage.  I noticed a wet spot in the roof on the side.  I called Mr. Valdez and we made an appt.  We opened up a small hole in the garage to see where it was leaking.  He followed it and realized the leak was coming from my master bedroom bathroom and it turned out to be a washer  that needed to be replaced in the knob under the toilet.  I would have never found it.  A nice and quick job and fairly priced. Boy was I relieved.
