while water heater replacement was completed satisfactorily, installer replaced lengths of copper piping and faucets with an alternative. although asked to leave behind the copper removed and agreeing to do so, the installer did not leave the copper behind, giving the appearance of stealing copper for resale.

On Friday December 16, 2016 in response to a complaint from a tenant in my 4plex apt. building I called Affordable Plumbing to repair the furnace. Michael Reeves responded and told me that a circulating pump was defective and to replace it would cost $510. The pump is attached by two bolts and replacement should take less than hour. I have since researched the price of the pump to be $150 so they must have been charging $360 labor. I asked the company to explain how they determined their charges and they flatly refused saying they did not divulge charges for parts and labor charging only by the job. During the repair one of the two bolts broke. Mr. Reeves told me that the bolt could not be repaired and that I had to buy a new furnace. He sent me an estimate for replacement furnaces ranging from $11,000 to $15,000. I told him that I had four families without heat in subzero temperatures, that I would not buy a new furnace, and that the repair had to be done. On Saturday December 17, 2016, Ray Martenson came and removed the broken bolt. He charged $400 to remove it plus the original $510 for a total of $910. After minor adjustments a final amount of $895 was charged to my credit card. On January 08, 2017 the company added an additional unauthorized charge of $210 to my credit card. On January 11, nearly a month after the work was done, I received an invoice stating that I owed $210 as payment for “diagnostics” that that were done on Friday December 16. That was when I was told that the furnace could not be repaired and I would have to replace it. None of the $360 labor was applied to the diagnostic charge since they claim they only charge by the job. The total charges to remove one bolt and install a $150 part are $1,115 and since I refused to pay the unauthorized credit charge I am being threatened with having the $210 charge turned over to a collection agency. Affordable also gave me a list of estimates for repairs and maintenance to the furnace they had claimed could not be repaired and had to be replaced. Their estimate was $1,787. I had the work done by a well established plumbing company and the actual charges for the work were $357 for materials and three hours labor for a total of $662. They said that there is absolutely no reason for the furnace to be replaced. Affordable was estimating about $1,400 more than what the work actually cost. Summary: 1) Affordable Plumbing charged $1,115 to replace a $150 part and remove one bolt. Of that, $210 was a “diagnostic” fee to falsely tell me that I had to replace a furnace that did not require replacement. They are threatening to turn that fee over to a collection agency. 2) The company’s exorbitant charges are demonstrated by their estimate of $1,115 versus the actual charges of $662 to do maintenance and repairs. The reason that they refuse to disclose and justify how they determine their charges is obvious.

They made it so easy! We love our new furnace and can't wait to use the central air. the humidifier is wonderful especially here in Colorado where it is so dry.

Tech went to furnace, jiggled,poked, prodded and generally looked busy. He told us that he could not do a full diagnostic check due to a bad circuit board. I asked about the smell and he said there's excess gas leaking and that's the problem. He said we would be better off getting a new furnace because the parts to fix the old one would run about $750-$1300. He then charged us $75 for showing up and another $65 for a diagnostic he said he could not complete. We called the utility company to check for gas or CO2. They inspected and tested inside and out and said there is no gas or CO2, he said the tech was just trying to "UPSELL". We called a separate company to come out, they said the 1st tech never ever took the panel off the furnace for his supposed diagnostic. We basically were ripped off! Not to mention the use of scare tactics to sell a new furnace to people is just plain DIRTY BUSINESS! Do NOT trust these people. I want my money back.

That repair was alright but he called in someone else that did water damage work, they said we had asbestos who we weren't happy with. When he came back we wanted him to put in a line for a refrigerator ice maker. His company wouldn't let him cause of asbestos. We aren't please with that we aren't pleased with the water damage people. The young man who did the repair was super. I am unhappy with the company. He was a young kid, happy to whatever. He was friendly and left the area clean. I wasn't happy because of the thing about the asbestos thing and the calling in of the water damage people who were outrageously over priced. Them not allowing him to do the connection of the ice maker. All he had to do was drill a hole. They just have a flat rule about houses at a certain age.

I received a new furnace, installed by Affordable Plbg and Htg, and was extremely pleased with the work that was done and the service provided by the crew, including Earl, Josh, Brandon, as well as the managers who were involved. I chose the bid for this work, because of the fact that the price quoted was so affordable! I could not be more pleased with the amount of furnace that was installed, and will now use this company for all of my plumbing and HVAC needs. Everyone that I worked with at Affordable was courteous and professional.

They were really nice and really helpful and explained things just that I can't afford to get it done yet.

They were a little pricey. They were friendly and they came on time.

Stephen is a very pleasant young man who knows what he's doing. He explained to me what he was going to do and that it would all go fine. He had all the equipment he needed and did the job very professionally. He is a very friendly person and must be a valuable member of the Affordable Plumbing team. He arrived early which is a change for me - this was the second choice company for me - the first plumbing company were hours late and I cancelled them. Affordable Plumbing is my first choice from now on and I would recommend Stephen to anyone who needs plumbing done. He has made my day by not only doing the job but by being the pleasant person that he is. Thank you.

The work was all done within 90 minutes. The technician, Steve, came up with a way to replace a leaky valve without the extra time and expense of draining the entire tank, The work was done professionally at a fair price.

Overall I was impressed with APH. Their technicians were very knowledgeable and transparent with me regarding the work they were doing. The quality of work and level of service were impressive, but it is too soon to know if any follow-up repairs will be needed. The work was a little more expensive than I had anticipated, but again, the quality has matched the price so far. The only area that I thought could use improvement was in their punctuality and clarity of scheduling - APH uses 2 hours windows in which the homeowner needs to be present, unfortunately one of the windows was missed by about 1.5 hours due to the technician responding to a last minute utility emergency elsewhere. Normally not a big issue if good communication is there, but we were left waiting without notice and had to call in multiple times to check that we could still complete our work. Luckily the majority of the work was still able to be completed that day and we had running water available again.

It went great. I found Affordable Plumbing and Heat before I ever joined Angies List and had them do work for me before so I knew they were a good company. I think they are fairly priced and do good work. When I need plumbing service, I always call them. I did not receive any coupons or discounts due to Angies List but I was still very pleased with my new hot water heater and its installation. I purchased the high efficiency hot water heater from them also.

The person was on time and did not have the part on the truck, in spite of my telling them I suspected the sprayer was the problem when I called. I was charged for the call, the part, his time do do the repair which was not much time, less than 5 minutes, and I was charged for his time to go get the part. The total was $327.81 for 5 minutes of work. I will never use them again. They should have had that kind of part on the truck and if they didn't I should be charged for him to go pick up the part. There is NOTHING affordable about this company.

Called and receptionist said that they had a cancelation and could have someone out the next day between 10 and noon. Said they would call when on the way. Waited and technician showed up around 11:40. (I never received a call). Showed technician broken water line and he said it was an easy fix. Completed the repair in approx. 30 minutes. Used the on line coupon to save $25. He did give me a quote on replacing the manifold assembly for my sprinkler system, but I passed as the cost was higher than I was willing to pay. I do not know who they compare to other plumbers in the area. $50 just to show up and then add labor and parts charges on top of that. Work he preformed has a 1 year guarantee. Stephen was the technician and was very professional.

Scheduling was painless. The technician, Tim Brown, called and arrived on time. Tim was very professional and listened to me when I explained the problem and the history of earlier attempted repairs. He explained everything he was doing in detail. Within an hour had the system up and running. Checked everything in the the system to make sure all was well. Excellent service.

It went exceptionally well. Marlon did a great job in the time allotted. I so appreciate Affordable Plumbing taking my information on a Saturday and on Sunday morning (Fathers Day) they were able to get our sink installed for us.

During this project many issues arose including weeks where the crew was only out to my property 1 or 2 days for the week, two trees were removed from my property without my permission first, and damage was done to my neighbors fence (which affordable eventually agreed to fix) After about a month on my property, the company claimed the work was finished and went on their way. That week I had a general contractor come out to install the carpet and drywall to get the finishing touches done. The general contractor called me with some awful news, there were things done by Affordable Plumbing that were not done correctly, the sump pump was installed above the floor threshold instead of flush, no proper electrical routing to GFCI, my wooden fence outside was swaying in the wind because it wasn't reinstalled properly, and the biggest kicker - there were NO PERMITS pulled on the sump pump that was installed, and the biggest item: Affordable Plumbing and Heat did not get the LICENSE, ENGINEER DESIGN, INSPECTION, or PERMIT for the perimeter french drain. This is a big deal because that is the one item I paid the most money for. Please realize that since the company did not properly get the french/perimeter drain inspected and permitted, that there is no way to prove that the work was done, that it was done properly, and now I cant sell my property. My first step was to settle a dispute through the company that gave me the loan. The city of Colorado Springs and the loan company helped to put pressure on Ted the owner of Affordable Plumbing to do the right thing and go back in to my home and fix all the issues. Ted agreed that the sump pump needed to be lowered flush with the basement floor, the fence needed to be fixed, the electrical needed to be fixed, and I have emails that show their company admitting that the work was not done to professional standards. They came back with an amended contract agreeing to fix most of the items, HOWEVER, at this point Ted and Affordable Plumbing and Heat are REFUSING to come back and get the French/perimeter drain properly licensed, engineer designed, inspected, and permitted as required by the city of Colorado Springs. His reason for refusing? "Because it would require digging back up the ground and [we] are just not going to do that at this time".... I'm sorry but I paid $19,000 for the work to have been done properly the FIRST time. Had the work been done properly and met the city requirements in the first place, we would not be at this point. -- It has now been a YEAR since my home flooded and I am still fighting with this company to make things right. It is my opinion that the company doesn't want to come back and dig the french drain back up and get it inspected for one of two reasons - 1) either the work was not done properly and they know it wont pass inspection, or 2) they didn't do the work at all. Either way, without the proper inspection and permit from the city with a stamp of approval, there is no way of knowing if the work was done or if it was done correctly. Now I am basically held hostage by not being able to list my property to sell. This company has not been easy to work with at all, and I feel taken advantage of since they now have the full $19,000 and I am still left with sub-par workmanship and un-permitted work not done to code-all I want is for them to come out and get it done right or give me some money back so that I can pay someone else to come and do the work right. I think this is a fair request considering $19,000 is an exorbitant amount of money to get treated this way. I feel as though I deserve a properly done project just as other customer have gotten.

After reading reviews on Angie's List, I called Affordable Plumbing & Heat to come out. I needed to install new faucets in my children's bathroom with a double sink and wanted a new toilet in the master bath. Scheduling was easy and they were available on relatively short notice. On arrival, the plumber was courteous and seemed knowledgable. However, the rest of the service time was a nightmare. He dove right in and struggled with removing the faucet from our old porcelain sink. (They may have been original and were definitely stuck.) So, he removed the entire sink and brought it down to the garage where he had to forcibly remove the faucet. I think he said he had to saw it off. (I founds pieces and parts all over the floor of our garage after he left.) Then, he ripped open the box of the brand new faucet kit . . . only then did he realize that I had purchased the wrong one. This part was on me! So, now I had a sink missing its faucets and just sitting on its vanity plus a box with a brand new faucet that was un-returnable. He apologized for not checking the materials before he began the work. In the meantime, after he had disconnected the faucet, the valve must have been leaking because my son noticed dripping in the foyer directly underneath that bathroom. The plumber tightened the leaking valve in the "off" position and continued with the task at hand. All was not lost because I still needed to have the toilet in the master bath replaced. And, I was able to use the brand new faucet to replace the existing faucet in the master bath. However, while the plumber was working in the master bath, the valve had completely burst and was causing a waterfall from that bathroom into the foyer . . . because it sounded like a shower, it took me a few minutes to realize what had happened so I had a disaster in the foyer. While I frantically cleaned up the mess, the plumber shut off the water, replaced the valve, and came down to help clean up the mess. He finally finished with the master bath and we called it a day. I paid the bill; thankfully, the plumber offered to waive the trip fee for this visit and for the future visit when he would come back to replace the faucets with the correct set. At this point, I was feeling completely beaten down . . . but the day was not over. Later that day, I discovered that the cold and hot faucets had been switched. When I called Affordable Plumbing & Heat, they were able to send someone out later that evening. There was no charge for this visit. It was the same plumber and he was very apologetic for his mistake. After the replacement faucets arrived, I scheduled another service time with Affordable Plumbing & Heat for the following Monday. However, on Sunday morning at 7:30am, I received call from Affordable Plumbing. Of course, I didn't answer this call, but they left a message offering to come out that morning to complete the work. THIS WAS ODD! First thing the next morning at 7:40am, I called Affordable Plumbing to confirm that my appointment was still on. The person I spoke with told me that the plumber was on his way. I called back 40 minutes later and was old that he was still on his way. Over 1 hour later, he pulled into our driveway. I met the plumber in the driveway and informed him that I needed to know how much time he thought he would need before he was to begin any work. When he came into the house, he reeked of cigarette smoke, filling up my home with the stench. He told me that it was going to take longer than hour to complete the work and he told me that he was going to have to replace the remaining 3 valves. I promptly escorted him out of the house, telling him that I was frustrated and disappointed with this whole situation.

Plumbing leak was quickly found, Because of the location of the leak, the commode and vanity and a section of drywall had to be removed which they coordinated with a renovation company.

Jonas called before he arrived. He was friendly, efficient and took the time to explain every problem found and options for repair. Also costs were explained up front. All repairs were accomplished. The cost was a bit higher than I had thought however exactly what he & I had discussed. I was trying to put together a floor lamp and having no luck. Jonas gave me a hand and soon I had one more thing to thank him for. I would definitely recommend Affordable Plumbing esp. if Jonas is the repairman suggested.

Chad and his crew were incredibly responsive and professional. I would recommend this company to anyone.

We have used Affordable multiple times for our heating and plumbing needs. This time as with all previous times from customer service to the service person they have been timely, friendly, thorough and professional in completing their work. Brandon V. checked furnace operation and gas leaks. He performed this service last year as well. He also cleaned the mainline pipe which has a tendancy to get blocked with tree roots. He answered all my questions. He is always thorough and cleans the area before he leaves. I trust Affordable as they have never given me a reason not to.
