About us

In everything we do, whether it's in the office or in your home, we strive to do what's right. But what does "right" mean to us? What standard are we measuring ourselves against? The answer is hidden in our company's name. A "plumb line" is a string attached to a weight. Its purpose is to ensure that something is upright and straight. It provides an objective standard against which one can measure what he has built. Our "plumb line"—our test for doing what's right—is doing what's true, fair, and upright according to the moral standards set by God. Jeff Belk, our founder, used that standard to create our company's Core Values. These values inhabit every nook and cranny of Plumbline Services. Meaning these are the values we hire by. Fire by. And—most importantly for you—live by.

Called Plumbline, they had a service professional in within 4 hrs. Man was very professional and courteous. The lady that scheduled the visit did not tell me that it was fixed pricing and is based on a list of pre determined services. This ended up in me having a longer discussion with the service professional that showed up regarding the cost of the job. Once we had settled on a price everything went perfect after that. Work was done quickly and professionally. The final work looked clean and perfect. He took great care to make sure the pipes were all lined up properly and the joints were good and clean.
Description of Work: Installed a sand filter for the sprinkler system. Sprinkler system was already there, work involved cutting a 1" copper pipe and installing the filter between the two ends and interfacing to a PVC Drain pipe. This involved about 8 connections. The connections had to go from 1" pipe to 3/4" pipe.

Excellent. Jeff checked the main pipes and determined that the clog was limited to the kitchen drain. He had the clog cleared and the garbage disposal running again within 15 minutes. Before beginning work though, he asked about any other slow running drains and I told him our bathroom shower drain was hardly moving water. He looked at it and determined it was primarily a hair clog. He showed me how to remove the stopper and how to use needle nose pliers to remove hair from the drain. After he finished the kitchen drain, he tagged all the water shutoff valves in the house so I would know where to go to turn off the water in an emergency. He also checked the house water pressure and determined that it was on the low side so he increased the water pressure to the house, which has improved water flow overall, particularly in the shower. Our sprinkler system has not worked for the past year, so I asked him to look at the outdoor plumbing section. That section turned out to be completely broken and needs a total replacement, for which he gave us a bid. The bid to replace the sprinkler section seemed high ($600), but the value we got for that day's work ($183 minus a $25 coupon) was outstanding. We hired Plumbline knowing that they might be somewhat higher priced, but we feel the value was worth it.
Description of Work: The service we contracted for was to clean out a clog in the kitchen drain. Plumbline performed additional services (clearing hair out of a slow drain, changing the water pressure in the house, and giving an estimate on a broken sprinkler system) without charge during their visit.

We noticed a sewer backup in our basement at about 8pm on Friday. Called Plumbline immediately. Since it didn't seem to be spreading, we told them to come out the next day. He was there at 9 am. The work proceeded as described above, and there were no special Saturday rates. Here's where it gets interesting, though. When he put the camera down our sewer line, he determined that it has a couple of spots where water gathers, and it needs to be replaced. This is an enormous job, requiring a 9' deep trench to be dug across our front yard, and potentially jackhammering the basement floor. If all of that is required, they told us it would be $9,300. I have gotten bids since then for the same work that were almost $3,000 less, but they can't get out here for 2 or 3 weeks. Moral of the story: if you need a job done right away, Plumbline is a good call. They are very responsive and will do high quality work. If you have time to get some estimates and can wait, you might want to shop around.
Description of Work: Our sewer line backed up. Plumbline snaked the line to clear out obstructions, snaked our basement toilet, which had become backed up as well, and snaked the basement shower drain. He put a camera down the line to evaluate the cause of the backup. He also had to replace our clean out valve as it was cracked leaking some water. The whole thing took about 6 hours, and he worked without a break.

Plumb Line answered the phone (no machine!) and said they could come the next morning between 8:30 and noon. We had an overnite snowstorm, I figured they might run a little late, but the gal called at 8:15, said the plumber was on the way and to expect him in an hour. Doug Hammond arrived at 9:15, put on his protective booties and came in, assessed the problem, explained the solution and the fee, I approved the work and he had it fixed in no time. He asked if I had any other plumbing related concerns in the rest of the house, I did, he looked at them and offered advice and his professional opinion. He was very knowledgeable, kind and efficient. He explained the work he needed to do, did it and then explained the warranty on the work he had just done. It was a pleasure doing business with him. Doug left and 20 minutes later I got a follow up call from the dispatch gal asking if I was satisfied with the work! I recommend this company to Angie's List and everyone in the Denver Metro area!
Description of Work: They came out to fix my kitchen faucet that had come loose from the countertop. After weeks of dealing with my loose kitchen faucet, I called Plumb Line Services to come and fix it. It needed a special tool to properly tighten it; something that was not done with the right tool when it was installed a year ago in my new home.

They came out the same day I called. They had good ratings on Angie's List. I got bids for several other items but I thought the bids were way too high, so didn't do all the work I wanted and got an estimate for. During the work time, the service man told me that a valve was broken and needed to be replaced. When I really pressed him, he got it working and said he'd made a mistake. I think he was trying to get extra work and put one over on me. They charged $180 to drain my water heater, and I later realized that all he did was hook up a hose to it, drain and flush it. I basically feel they overcharged me for everything. I ordered the work done because the guy was there and I needed it done. I will not use them again because of the rip off factor.

After a pipe broke on the outside of our house in the middle of the night, they were able to send a professional out within an hour to take a look. The plumber gave a thorough estimate and explained everything well. They did the work the next business day and were professional, quick and again thorough. They fixed the pipe on the inside and outside of the house, handled the excavation outside. We were very pleased with the service we received.

COMPETENT BUT RIDICULOUSLY EXPENSIVE. Plumbline was very prompt in coming to my house on a Saturday night. When I called, I was advised there would be a minimum of $125 trip charge. I agreed. The technician was pleasant and competent, and quickly isolated the problem to a blown fuse and a cracked igniter. By that time, it was too late to call anyone else. The tech then presented the costs for the job--$294 for the cracked igniter and $160 for the blown fuse, plus the $125 trip charge. The tech had no flexibility on pricing--Plumbline techs carry a "book" which lists a flat rate for each repair they do. The charge of $160 for the blown fuse--a part costing no more than a dollar or two and taking less than 5 minutes to diagnose and repair, was absurd. I called Plumbline to complain and they agreed to reduce the cost of the job by $60--not adequate in my view. Including the service call fee, I figured I spent about $450 labor charge for less than an hour's work by their tech.

***Electrical cat.*** I thought I was going to have a fire start and they came out quickly to address the issue. I would use this company again if needed and would recommend them to others.

The receptionist answering the call thought she had hung up on me, but she had not. I heard her proceed to call a service technician, and tell him that she had done all she could do to convince me to put it off until Monday, that she thought I had too many beers to drink (? I don't drink??), they laughed about whether I knew I could run an extension cord out to the refrigerator, etc., etc., etc. I called them back and told them I would find another electrician. I would not recommend these clowns if they were the last electricians in Denver.
Description of Work: I called Plumbline Services because I had a GFI outlet trip out in my garage and it was causing all my garage outlets to trip. There was a burning smell near the outlet, and we were worried that the problem may be more serious than just a bad outlet. Since I had a radon control system and a refrigerator in my garage, I told them I'd pay the $125 emergency weekend service charge.

I think they do great work. Over the 2 year period that we have used them, their technicians have always been courteous and friendly. My 4 year old son follows them around and they take the time to talk with him. They are always punctual. They clean up any messes thoroughly. They offer a membership that provides discounts on future services.

I was amazed at how expensive they were. The gentleman that came out was very professional and did arrive on time, but I was appalled when they came back with the estimates. I would certainly not use them. I ended up farming out the jobs to maintenance people I knew and didnt spend anywhere near as much money.
Description of Work: Plumbline came out and charged me $38 for an estimate. The estimate was to repair 3 Kohler faucets at $780, replace 2 faucets for $1566, replace a kitchen faucet for $640, install 2 faucets that I would supply for $890 and replace a toilet for $950.

Overall, Plumbline was punctual, professional, thorough and had the right equipment to the job. However, they are the highest price plumber I have ever used. Seemed like every little thing cost money, although, they did explain the charges before doing any of the work. These guys are the "Lexus" of plumbers.....if the price was a little better, I would have given them an overall rating of an "A". But the "B" was for the cost. Very nice people and cleaned up very well after the job.

Again, these 2 gentleman came out in the pouring rain (I guess I have a thing with rain and snow) and were kind, professional and very well educated in their field. Dallas was the formans name, and I apologize but his apprentice name has escaped my memory. They showed up and educated me about the grease trap (I am from Houston, TX, so it looked at first to me like a septic tank) and when and why it was used, and also that it should have been bypassed and correctly filled in many years ago. They quickley replaced the 4" pipe from that particular T (kitchen sink drain that Td into main sewer for rest of house) and got their snake out, told me to run the sink and bath tub-I quickly did dishes and flushed the toilets while plumbers where here since everydish in the house was dirty and toilets full due to not being able to use any water due to break in pipe. Our joy was quickly dampened as if the rain put out our fire-the snake came out in a big sink hole-stopped due to no more cash.
Description of Work: When my husband and I dug up where supposed leak in yard was, we found grease a pre-WWII trap still hooked up to house/sewer line. Line had broke. Plumbline put 4" pipe in (my husband and I had already dug up and bi-passed grease trap) to hook us directly to pipe going out to City Sewer in alley. When they were finished, they put snake in to confirm clean pipe, snake popped up in a sink hole behind garage approx. 4 feet from City Sewer/Alleyway- (barely) with chunks of rag/towel/rug. At that time we had to let it be because we just paid them our mortgage to do the above services and had no more money-$3000.00 or more was quoted to send cameras, and dig up concrete to even eval. what probs remained. Turns out we have had to call DURA and qualify for $20,000 in repairs due to raw sewage being dumped in sinkhole for God knows how many years-have to rip out driveway, porch and alley just to see if on CitySewer-found 1940 license plate where someone had patched 60 years ago and lied to City

They showed up at the wrong time, which made me leave work. They installed all products. The plumber left without fixing the leaky pipes, which weren't leaking before. After the plumber left, the faucet was dripping and hard to turn from right to left. We have been playing phone tag on and off, and he has returned 2 of my calls. I called other plumbing companies, which told me that it should have only cost $410-$450 for that job. I believe that they priced gouged.

The Electrician named Rob was there when they said he would be. He listened well to what I had to say about repairs that needed to be done. He wrote all of it down, and then went over all of it with me, so that I had a good understanding of what was to be done. He told me the costs right away, so that I had the choice to continue or not. I was very pleased with the work done, and shall certainly be ringing again should I need their help. This Company works not only on electrical problems, but plumbing, heating and air conditioning. I found them in the Yellow Pages of the Highland Ranch telephone book.
