Matt arrived a few minutes early. Very professional with good attitude. Got right to work. Could not clear blockage on first try. Snaked again with smaller end piece and partially cleared blockage. Presented several options with prices for future permanent fix. Honest work, did not try sell premium package before starting work, like previous two plumbers. I was very impressed.

They are very good. After having two other plumbers here giving me a price to install a kitchen faucet, I bought the faucet myself and their price was really ridiculous. So I called Angie's List and they recommended Ed Paster. They came out and they were very professional and very nice. He did a good job and I was very pleased. The price was also very reasonable.

Brian & Dan came when they said they would. Both were very friendly and polite. They worked quickly and efficiently at both jobs and all was finished in short order. They were careful to avoid making any mess. Brian warned that some of the old pipes under the kitchen sink were starting to show signs of wear and rust. Both men were very professional. I would not hesitate to use this company again and will recommend them to friends & neighbors.
Description of Work: Checked & fixed a stopped up, slow flowing faucet in the bathroom. Checked a backing up drain in the kitchen sink and used a flexible snake to clean the pipes from the inside at the sink and from outside the house going in the reverse way.

I accidentally found a plumbing problem when I looked under the table in our laundry room. The plaster wall looked rough and the paint was peeling. I then called my regular plumber, Darren's Plumbing, but he was out of town on vacation. I had used Ed Paster before and was satisfied with his service and price, so I called them. Someone came out promptly and showed me that the drain pipe from the washing machine was leaking. I asked for an estimate and was told it would be $585, so I asked him to go ahead. He spent 2.5 hours on it and fixed it satisfactorily. I began to suspect that he had over-charged me so I went to Lowe's and priced out the parts used. They cost $35. After subtracting for parts and travel time, it works out to be $183 per hour, an exorbitant amount, even for a plumber. I gave them a B on quality because I was told by a least one contractor that the code calls for 2" pipe instead of the 1.5" used, which was the size of the original pipe.

My shower was clogged and I could not reach the clog. I called a different plumber that I had used before, but Paster plumbing answered as they have taken over for my previous plumber as the other owner retired. They came the next day and fixed the clog. The plumber was very efficient and careful not to leave a mess. I was charged $122. I am not sure how that compares, but I think it is fairly average. There were no problems or issues. I don't really know how to judge quality for something like this. So maybe they should get an A. But I think an A should be for more than just doing a good job on what they were supposed to do. Too bad I can't give a B+. I just feel funny sometimes when owners transfer customers without letting customers know. I might use them again, but if I don't it isn't because there were any problems.

Went as smoothly as could be expected. I called Saturday morning after discovering the problem and let them know I had found them on Angie's List. The phone was answered promptly and the gentleman on the phone said he could schedule me the same afternoon between 1-4. He explained that they couldn't offer a quote over the phone because they couldn't be certain about the cause of the problem, but he said the $39 service call fee would be applied to any repair. Matt calledabout 1:30 and said he'd be here in 15-20 minutes. He arrived and immediately starting looking into the problem, and after a brief review, said the price would be $118. He covered the washing machine to protect it, snaked the standpipe, then took care to clean up the splatters on the wall before moving outside to snake the kitchen cleanout. While doing that, he asked that I run another load of laundry, and it still backed up, so Matt took our hose to wash down the driveway where it had splattered. When he finished his work, he asked that I run one more load to ensure the problem had been addressed, and only then did he pack up to leave. The entire project took about one hour, and Matt was great. Very nice, personable, and professional. My one minor complaint, which didn't occur to me until after Matt had left, was that he didn't ask whether I had an Angie's List coupon, although I had mentioned that Angie's List was how I had found them. My fault for not printing one out, which could have saved $20, but had he asked I could have gotten one. Very small issue though, as their price seemed in line with what two other plumbers had suggested might be the cost. All in all it went very smoothly, and the fact that they don't charge a premium for coming out on a Saturday was a big plus!
Description of Work: Pipes were backing up when the washing machine drained, spilling water near the washer and leaving residue in the kitchen sink. Matt from Paster started by snaking the standpipe near the washing machine, then used a larger snake from the cleanout outside the kitchen to ensure he'd addressed the problem.

This was about the second full day in my newly purchased house. While showering in one bathroom I heard the toilet in the same bathroom making gurgling noises. After showering I flushed the toilet and it was slow to drain. I checked in another bathroom and saw that the bathtub there had become something of a cesspool. I flushed the toilet and all of the water backed up into the tub. I tried a plunger which did no good. I tried to snake out the drain but the snake barely went anywhere. I found what I thought was the clean-out cap toward the back of the house and opened it. It gushed a filthy mess. Again the snake - no good. I checked Angie's List for a recommendation and chose the nearest plumber listed. I showed Jay, the plumber who came out, the clean-out I had found and he told me that that one was only for the kitchen sink. We found another clean-out behind an access panel at the front of the house. It still wasn't the main one. Jay said he could probably use it but that it was so old that the pipe would probably break if he tried to loosen the cap. He was going to saw off the cap when a neighbor happened to be walking by and said the previous owner of the house had a clean-out put in about five or ten feet somewhere from the front wall of the house. Jay used a screwdriver to poke around the most likely area of the yard and found the main clean-out cap. About a hundred feet of rootering cut through the obstruction of roots that prevented the free flow of whatever someone previously had flushed down the toilet. I thought the $128.00 (after Angie's List $20.00 discount) was maybe a touch high but it did take quite awhile to find the main clean-out and I was happy to have the plumbing flowing smoothly. Also it was a whole lot less than the $4,000 to $5,000 Jay told me it might cost to replace the pipe run to the city main line connection. Jay was professional, knowledgeable, patient, conscientious and informative throughout. My thanks.

Right away we liked and felt comfortable with Brain Paster when he came in to assess the repiping that needed to be done in our home. So we were happy that his estimate also beat all the other estimates we'd received. We needed to replace the piping in our entire home (1380 square foot home with two bathrooms) with copper piping. We'd already taken down the walls, so no patching or painting needed to be done. As scheduled Paster Plumbing employees Matt and Miguel (both nice guys) came in on time, worked efficiently and got the job done on schedule, just as Brian Paster said would be done. We'll gladly hire Paster Plumbing in the future.

Well, I wasn't so pleased with their work, which I thought was really sloppy and unprofessional -- and more expensive than they estimated. They tried to tell me that the brand new tub valve I had purchased wasn't "to code" and would be rejected by the city inspector (because they didn't want to install it because it turned out to be a tougher installation than they had estimated) -- but the city inspector had no problem with it at all! (I'm not talking cheap products here -- I purchased high-end Newport Brass fixtures, which they tried to talk me out of.) Because they didn't want to install the tub valve, but I insisted, they did a horrible job, leaving a pipe sticking out beyond the wall. I was shocked when I discovered it and had to call them back to fix it -- which took numerous calls to make happen. Meanwhile, my boyfriend was the one who actually wound up fixing the pipe sticking out of the wall -- the plumber just fixed the part of the pipe that my boyfriend accidentally dented while fixing their crummy work. The plumber who did the work was a very tall guy, so another major problem I had (and still have) is that he installed the new faucet handles in my shower quite high -- much higher than I wanted them. We had discussed where I wanted everything, but when he finished the job and I looked, he had raised the handles several inches -- with no good explanation of why. Very unprofessional. And if that wasn't enough, I had also requested a couple of estimates which he promised to give me, but then never delivered. Not that I'd ever want to use them again anyway, especially after he sent a bill which was nearly $100 more than his original estimate for the lousy work that he did. Thumbs down on these guys.
Description of Work: They did some major work for me in my master bathroom -- installing new piping and valve in my shower (which I had gutted and was completely re-doing), including raising the shower head, and new piping and valve in my tub.

The service performed went perfectly. They did not rush the process but took their time and explained everything along the way. The equipment and tools they use are one of the benefits of partnering with them. Other plumbing companies I have seen may have great plumbers but do not have the cameras, tools etc. to perform the job without tearing up your house! Pastor Plumbing treats their clients regardless of how big or small the job is with respect, curtious and educates them about what they are doing. I feel very comfortable having anyone from their team coming back to either of our properties in a heart-beat based on the 3 experiences I have had with them at 2 different properties already.
Description of Work: When we had a major plumbing problem that Rooter Rooter original came out to fix 7 months ago we called them thinking it was the same problem. They were so unproffesional, and did not take the time to demonstrate they were knowledgeable at all. The team member that actually came out was bad-mouthing the other team member that came out to do the work 7 months ago. We did not feel comfortable with him in our house so I decided to try out Angie's List for my first time and that's when we found Pastor Plumbing! Since there first visit about a month ago we decided to do some additional work with them as well as bring them out to our rental property. They are honest, on time, reliable, knowledgeable and very respectful of your home. They have someone there that answers the phones on weekends and Saturday's are considered "normal" business day's. They have quick response time and explain all your options. Jay was a wonderful and knowledgeable team member they sent out. He told us what we needed to do now vs. what we can wait on and also gave us options. They are truly a plumbing company I would refer to anyone who wants the job done correctly the first time and not charging an arm and a leg. We originally had Jay come out to clean out a blocked main line, but then we found out that he can create a solution but it would be only temporary since he said there are roots blocking the plumbing. We re-scheduled him to come back to do the second phase with the special equipment needed to pin point where the roots are so he did not have to tear up much of anything. They were so neat, respectful and very helpful. In-fact, when we had a potential problem in our rental unit the following week I did not bother to look up anyone else but called Pastor Plumbing immediately. Once again they went above and beyond and are very thorough and exceeded expectations.

One bathroom had problems that were slowly getting worse. Finally the hot water didn't work at all and the cold water faucet had a slow leak at the base of the faucet. I tried to shut off the water to see if I could fix the problem myself, but found that the cold water shutoff valve did not work at all. So I call Paster Plumbing. They came the following day. It turns out that my house has copper pipes but galvanized nipples sticking out of the walls. Those nipples rusted over the years. Paster was able to remove the nipples, re-tap the copper, and install new nipples and shutoff valves. They noticed that the drain trap was rusting, and replaced that as well. At that point both faucets worked again, although the cold faucet still had a slow leak. I decided to have them come back on another day to install new faucets, which they did. Paster came exactly when promised, the work was done as promised, and the work was professionally done. They spent over four hours. I would use them again.
