Ed Paster & Son Plumbing & Rooter

We had a major flooding problem with an upstairs toilet that clogged, and then overflowed when it ran all night. The flapper got stuck open. The water damage to our house will likely run into several tens of thousands of dollars. I called Paster and Andrew arrived promptly. He diagnosed a faulty pressure regulator, which he replaced along with the relief valve. The toilet, a Toto that had been sold to me about two years earlier by Paster as the Rolls Royce of toilets. It replaced an American Standard that chronically clogged. Total cost for ithat toilet, including installation, was well over $900. While it didn't clog as much as the American Standard, it still got stuck more than it should. Last summer, we started hearing loud "singing" pipes. It seemed to be coming from the Toto or in the pipes behind it. The noise started after the water company dug up the street in the neighborhood and turned everyone's water off a couple of times for several hours each time. The noise slowly diminished over time, but never went away. I was unable to duplicate the noise when a plumber visited. I had the water company, a gardener and two different Paster plumbers out here and ran the problem by the them all. (The Paster plumbers were here to repair a sprinkler problem and replace an outdoor hose bib.) Everyone had a different theory about what the problem was, generally involving water pressure, and they usually pointed at someone else's work. I still don't know what's behind those noisy pipes. Andrew said he could do a camera study for $300. He suggested that there may be something in the pipe causing clogs. He may well be right but I passed as the camera study as it sounded expensive. Besides, I had other problems to deal with and was losing faith in Paster. The expensive Toto toilet not only didn't solve the clogging problem, but it also failed in spectacular fashion. That toilet was like Paster, expensive, but really no better than the American Standard it replaced. Andrew, in fact, rebuilt it with Kohler parts. Paster consistently charges on the high side, but their work is not consistently high quality.

The work was done smoothly and in a reasonable time.

Brian came with a helper. I thought they might have to remove the toilet in order to work because of a shelf that hung very close to the top of the toilet, but they managed to do the job without removing the toilet. They were on time, professional, and successful. I would certainly use them again.

The leaky toilet water supply hose was fixed and the plumber was professional. Their prices were very steep however, both for that repair and for two other estimates for work that I got from them but did not have them perform.

This was an emergency job since our side yard was flooding due to the heavy rains and the drain was blocked by roots. They responded quickly, fixed the problem all at a very fair price. They are my constant 'go-to' guys when it comes to plumbing needs. I have used them many times and they have always been outstanding!

Provider completed the job removing a rag stuck in the pipe to clear the line.

First let me say that we used Paster Plumbing before, to install a new water heater, and we were extremely satisfied with their price and their work. So when we discovered we had drainage issues outside in the deck around our pool, I called them first thing. The guy arrived the next day, and was on time. So far so good right? Well he quoted me $228/hour with a minimum of 2 hours to clear my drains. While he didn't guarantee he could do it, he seemed optimistic that he could. I should have stopped him right then and there when he quoted me the outrageous price, but with a huge storm headed our way, I was in a panic that the patio would flood and that our house might have problems. He worked very hard. I have no issues with how hard he tried. But after 2 hours he was still not able to make any headway in the 2 really bad drains. He led me to believe he thought he could do it. I stupidly let him go another hour. He didn't clear those 2 really bad drains. In fact, he made it worse. Because when the rain hit, the other drains backed up and mud came pouring out of those 2 drains he worked so hard to try to clear. My patio is a mess. He should have told us that the pipes are probably broken under the concrete, and not continued to try to clear them. I feel stupid for even letting him start, and then for letting him continue. And requiring a 2-hour minimum charge before assessing the situation, is outrageous. I was so impressed with this company the first time I used them, and now I would never use them again. I should have shopped around and not assumed they would be good, just because of my first experience with them. I learned a very expensive lesson.

The woman I spoke to on the phone was very kind, even though she was very busy. She gave me a 3 hour window for the Plumber who arrived during the time frame I was given. The Plumber was professional, courteous, cheerful and very helpful. He worked quickly and thoroughly to clean our drain. I thought the price I was charged was reasonable. I have hired Fisher Plumbing before and I would highly recommend them. I will definitely hire them again.

When I booked Ed Paster and Son Plumbing & Rooter, I was given a 2 hour window, 12-2pm for the plumber to show up. I was not asked any questions about the access to the drain to be cleaned out (roof), just the nature of the service needed (main drain clearing) . The plumber did not arrive until 4pm, 2 hours after he was to show up. I did receive a call telling me the plumber was running late, and a call when he was finally on his way, which I appreciated. When he appeared, and asked about the location of the drain access, he refused to go on the roof where the access is located. He told me customers usually tell the company the access is on the roof, and the company tells them they won't do those jobs before booking an appointment. No apology. I told him I'd have to start all over finding a plumber. He shrugged, then he left. Now it is going to be very difficult to find a plumber this late in the day. And our plumbing, including toilets are still unusable.

Failed to show. Appt was scheduled for between 2-4 pm with a courtesy call first. Rec'd call from dispatch around 3 pm saying the tech is running late and to be patient. Didn't hear anything more until I called them around 6-ish, and was again told that the tech assigned to my job was still running late. Asked me if I wanted to reschedule for another day. To me, this is a red flag that this company any doesn't know what it's doing. If it can't even keep a 2 hour window and doesn't offer anything up to "make it right", then it's not worth doing business with.

We called Ed Paster and Son on Wednesday because we smelled gas coming from the dryer and SinkTop switch for the garbage disposal had corroded and needed to be replaced. First, the disposal: the guy said that in order to fix the disposal, they would have to either remove the countertop or they would install a new one under the sink?!? We said no thank you. After some quick research online, we discovered that it's a $20 part at home depot and we repaired it ourselves in less than 30 min. Doesn't instill much confidence. Then, the guy looked at the dryer and said that the hose from the dryer was leaking gas and shut off the gas. He said he would be back the next day to fix it. Thursday: He comes back and plays around with it for about 30 minutes. Tell us that he's not sure he can fix it, but he will send his supervisor to fix the next day. Friday: They are supposed to be here between 10-12. No show. The guy calls at 2:15. Says he will come THE NEXT DAY. Saturday: The guy arrives at 8:30. Says it's "an easy fix" but he has another job. He can't fix. He'll send someone MONDAY. At this point, I'm really upset and tell him that we need to have someone fix it today! He promises that he will send someone in the next few hours and leaves. 2 hours later, the scheduling dept calls and says no one is available. They will come Monday. At this point, I have zero confidence and even less patience. We're done. Will NEVER call Ed Paster and Son again.

I had them come to clear some drains, indoor and outdoor. Although the news was not good (broken pipes) they were upfront, honest and worked fast. Working fast kept their hourly rate reasonable. This was appreciated.

I have used this plumbing company several times in the past. ?They are all polite and courteous and ALWAYS complete the job and make us very happy with the quality of work. ?They found that our bathtub water valve was out of production so they tracked down a replacement, went and got it and got the job completed in about an hour. ?They always explain everything and are very neat and tidy. ?This is a great company to deal with and we will continue to use them with any other future plumbing problems.

Great guys on time quick work and good prices. Went out of the way to make sure area was cleaned up and gave good advice about future work I was thinking about doing on the house.

They are fair in price. He eent out of his way to find the leak. He gave me good recommendations.

Our water heater was 18 years old and we didn't want to wait for it to fail. It was also only a 50 gallon, which was not sufficient. We wanted a 75 gallon water heater. They were excellent. The responded quickly, quoted me promptly, and scheduled installation in a reasonable amount of time. Matthew arrived on time for installation and took care of everything. He had to build out the stand for a larger water heater, add a smitty pan, and put a larger vent pipe in for the exhaust. Matthew made sure afterward that all of the air was out of the line, and everything was working well. I will definitely be using them again for any plumbing needs.

It went very well. He was very fast, efficient and I liked the service. The people that answer the phone calls for the company are very nice and courteous.

These folks really know their business. We had a toilet that was working intermittently and would plug up when it did. We purchased a new unit through Pastor Plumbing and they did the installation. It works great. They were very neat and when they left the area they worked in was very clean. They also installed a new sink and faucet in our master bath. GREAT JOB all the way around. I would use them again in a heart beat!
