Inception Home Remodeling

Despite initially contacting us and coming out, they never agreed to perform services, nor did they send us or provide us with estimate. Despite multiple calls, having made multiple appointments, we have never received services nor even an estimate for what we would get for our paid 4 hours, nor have we received any estimate. We are quite frustrated since over multiple months principals of the firm have made appointments, we rescheduled ourselves, and then in a few cases the firm principal didn't show up, or in one case cancelled minutes before scheduled appt.

The Initial work estimate was 2-3 weeks. Work extended into the fourth week primarily as the scope of work increased as another room was added to be tiled and after mold was discovered in two walls requiring mitigation before the work could continue. Rani Hafner, Inception owner, was the primary contact after the original Project Manager left the company. Rani was very helpful and responsive.

Rani is excellent at customer support. I had concerns that the crew was not replacing the fascia boards since there were more rotted fascia boards than good boards; and he listened to my complaints and then offered a reasonable solution. I had no problems getting a hold of him when I needed to. The crew was prompt. In fact, they completed the job ahead of schedule. The crew stayed late to complete the job and even replaced some of the fascia boards through the rain. The total time for the job for our 1800 square foot home was a day and a half for the new roof. The fascia boards took one day. I had much better rapport with Rani than other general contractors that I have had to deal with in the past; and we are pleased with the results.

The deal turned out well, but the wording on your website didn't really describe what was going on. It was basically instead of a contractor, it was just a labor thing. We were expecting someone who could do things a contractor can do. They were willing to do handyman work and it wasn't quite what we expected. The contractor himself was a nice, pleasant persona and his workers were really nice. But it should have been a clear description on the offer entailed, so that we could have made a proper decision. They were pretty knowledgeable about things. The contractor was fine, it was just the wording. I don't think we would have purchased it if it would have been a handyman deal. I probably would use them again.

Rani was very professional and went through different possible options, but unfortunately the big deal was not clear enough that it was for a very small kitchen. If we had the money we would have definitely hired him for the job.

Completed project in time given. Clean up and did a great job.

Scheduling was done quickly. I had them paint our three bedrooms and one bathroom. The two painters finished in the four hours included in the deal. They provided a great service.

Rani and the team were great. Honest and on time they did a great job with communicating with me and the project was seamless. I will be using them again and recommend them to anyone.

I definitely recommend Inception Home Remodeling to anyone who wants to perform modifications to his home, from minors to majors. The owner / manager Rani was extremely fast to set-up an appointment for our job (painting) and was able to start the job the following day. Beside his professionalism regarding the timing, he was also courteous, friendly, and focused to get us exactly what we needed in a timely manner. Aside from the boss, the staff was also extremely good, and performed the painting job with great precision and professionalism. The prep job was done properly, which ensured a precise painting. Our room had a lot of complicated spots with stairs / in-wall storage and so on, but everything was in a great way. Plus, the staff was very responsive to unexpected request and was able to perform those. As a conclusion, they also cleaned everything before leaving the place EACH DAYS. This company is great from top to bottom and I'll definitely use them again for future projects.

well, to start with i want to say it is not the first time i am using Rani's services. this time i needed my old bathroom to be remodeled. rani was really proffessional, he started by choosing the material with us, than took care of the permit, when they started the job they kept the area as clean as possible, the work took less time than we thought it will. the new bathroom is more than we dreamed of, we are so happy that we can't thank him enough. we highly recommend inception home remodeling to anyone that is looking for a contractor you can trust. after we were done with the bathroom we wanted hard floor, we already had a price from another contractor, and we were ready to hire when Rani gave us a price we couldn't say no to the deal he offered us. you must talk to Rani for your next remodeling project.

The contractor was never on site when work was being done, in the end he abandoned the job and left them with a huge mess. Their electricians ruined the electrical in their entry hallway and have an electrician coming in to restore the electricity in the hallway next week. Many of the cabinets were scratched by the workers, he was informed but had nothing but excuses they were left with the scratched cabinets. He never saw the end product. He was always arguing with my daughter in law and avoiding my son I can only guess that he sub-contracted the work out as he never supervised the project. It was supposed to be completed Nov. 23 and he abandoned the job in a conversation where he started off and said he was sick of her Dec. 23rd leaving them with the mess 2 days before Christmas. Horrible lack of communication and refused to hear the problems, just wanted to ignore them and collect , money. In fact that was the only time he showed up, to collect money literally. . I don't think he knows what he was doing. The ceiling where they removed the popcorn and surrounding the can lights is bubbling and completely uneven. The paint job is so sloppy it sticks out like a sore thumb. The threshold between the carpet and tile has screws sticking up and they had to put tape over it to avoid the children cutting the bottoms of their feet.When they installed the cabinets, they covered one of the can lights. Some of the cabinets were not sealed on the inside. He would only have someone work 1 or 2 days a week. Their workers broke one of the pieces of the dining room light and hid it, she noticed it when she went to clean the filthy dusty mess they left all over it. When they installed the microwave/hood turns out if was held up with one screw and the air blew out into the kitchen rather than outside. They installed the dishwasher incorrectly and it had to be redone. He had to have so much work done over and over again because they did it wrong the first and 2nd time. The electrical sockets were put in at all different levels and had to redo those. They didn't put grout around the faucet and hooked the refrigerator water to the HOT water!!!???? He doesn't know what he's doing. They left the casings all dinged up, paint splashes on the front door and some of the walls have spots they didn't paint. I could go on and on. In the end he couldn't handle the job and couldn't control his anger. He has no business being in this business. They have to hire people to come in repair his lousy unprofessional work. I would never recommend him. He also tried to make them change their rating from an F to and A or B while abandoning the job. Is he out of his mind?

Ranis and his team did everything we needed. They attended to details and we're very pleased with the results!

The good: My kitchen looks great. Their workers were very nice and were punctual. I trusted them in my house without me there. They complete the job without me ever really having to be there. The price would have been great in my opinion if it hadn't been for them finding mold caused by a kitchen sink leak. Without the mold remediation it would have been $11,600 to redo the kitchen. The mold remediation was $5300! The materials they used look great. The granite was great and the cabinets were very high quality. They had one of their team members come out and model the kitchen out in a 3D format which was nice and very professional. Good thing I had it because we had a discrepancy later and I used it to show him where the difference was. Rani has you sign a contact with pricing laid out to be paid as certain parts of the job get done. It was nice to be able to pay in smaller disbursements and have goals by which to pay him by. The Bad: I bought a deal that they Inception had advertised on the Big Deals section. While it was a great price Rani didn't remember what was in the deal when we were adding everything up. I had to point out that his deal had advertised the hardware and a faucet being included. The faucet he gave me was useless and not functional. I literally couldn't wash dishes with because it was so close to the granite. His response was "that is why I tell you to buy your own faucet". I ended up buying my own faucet and having them install it. Extremely irritating. While I do not doubt that I had mold in the kitchen I found it odd that he didn't show me how bad it was before they did the work to remove it and didn't give me a price until it was all completed. I didn't really have a choice once he showed me the bill. The person he used seemed legitamite and he provided the paperwork after the fact but I didn't like that I wasn't consulted before the work was actually performed and not shown any pictures. We ran into an issue towards the end of job because the granite piece installed did not match what we agreed to in the 3-D model. At the end of the day he did the right thing and fixed it but not before trying to get me to keep it and probably giving his workers a hard time. They were just following instructions. I had to remind him about a list of touch ups that had to be completed at the end after he had told me the kitchen was complete. Not sure that we would have inspected it if I hadn't called them out on it. The last thing that rubbed me the wrong way was when we were squaring up the final payments he tried to get me to sign off on paying him an extra random $750. He claims it was for the extra labor associated with the mold and the dry wall. I pushed back because that was the first time I had heard of the extra cost and refused to pay it. He accepted my answer and had me sign off on a form saying I owed nothing. I am assuming he will use that as some sort of tax deduction. UPDATE: I had a leak from the faucet that one of the workers installed so I called Rani to see if they would come fix it. Rani was great about getting someone out immediately to fix it. He let me know I should call him should I ever have any issues. I really appreciated he immediate response and concern to fix the issue.

We tried Inception Home Remodeling via the special 40-hour deal offer. The owner, Rani, showed up the first day to introduce himself and a general contractor, who began right away on a variety of tasks that we had around the property. He was very professional, capable and reliable. We felt that we could trust him to get jobs done and without constant supervision - an important factor for us. We also had a plumber come for two half-days to replace a shower fitting and install a sink. We had some communication issues around days and start times, as well as materials purchased without our knowledge, but the work got done. In all, we'd recommend Inception. They accommodated us promptly and efficiently over the holidays, and had access to a wide variety of skilled workers.

This contractor is all about communication, he's great listening to the needs of the customer, some of the best communication I've ever had with a contractor. He makes promises he can keep, and when we had some issues at the end of the job, he fixed them. I've recommended him to my in-laws to do other jobs.

Very well. Wall were prepped for re-plastering. On time. happy with workers. clean. worked in timely manner.

The provider came out & gave us an estimate for the work that needed done. It was too much money for us right now.

Repaired wood damage, sanded and stained door, caulked and painted window sills and door.

Work left a raised lip making it difficult to enter room. Unfinished installation.

The service provider came to our house to give us a quote on hanging a lamp from the ceiling. He told my wife the certificate did not include electrical and that it says so in "the fine print" (it does not, by the way). He then said he'd do the job for $1600. My wife said no thanks. He then said he'd do it for $500 and the certificate that we paid $349 for. She still said no. He then said, "what do you want to pay for the job?" She said, no thanks. He then called me at work saying that my wife told him to call and that he needed my "ok" to do the job for $500 because "the fine print" excludes electrical. I told him I was looking at the certificate and it does not say anything about excluding electrical. Then I said I'd let him know if we wanted him to come back...and hung up. My wife and I then called our regular contractor who came over and did the job perfectly for $150. That's right...$150!! Remember, we were quoted $1600!! This guy is a rip off artist and you shouldn't refer him to people. Please issue my refund!!

Everything turned out well. They were very thorough and walked through the house with me before providing an estimate of the total costs. They were also punctual, friendly, and professional. Ultimately, I decided to postpone the work since I'm going to have some major remodeling done and didn't want to repeat the service.
