Rani from Inception Home Remodeling came to my house on Tuesday, October 21, 2014. I wanted my facial boards painted. Only facial boards that came to a peak, not all facial boards were to be painted. Any facial boards that had rain gutters I did not want painted. The rain gutters were new and they hid the facial boards, I did not want any damage to the rain gutters. He said he could match the color. I also wanted a new exit door installed at the back replacing the existing door. Rani gave me a price of $3000 repair and replace bad facial boards. He said I need only two 2x6x20 facial boards. Which was included in the $3000. He wanted $500 to install the new exit door. Total cost $3500. The price was to include replace 2 facial boards, sand and paint, repair wood rot at some facial board area and primer the new facial boards. Work was started on Wednesday, October 22, 2014. I ran some errands and picked up my grandson from school. When I had returned home the worker had ripped the facial boards down and I mean ripped I could not salvage any of the facial boards. I had to buy all new facial boards. I called Rani, he said that the worker could not save the facial boards. Rani wanted $200 dollars for each new facial boards. I needed 9 new boards at $200 dollars apiece. I told Rani I cannot afford to buy 9 new facial boards. Rani said don’t worry I will work with you. The worker went to Home Depot to purchase the materials. Rani needed some money in advance to purchase the materials, I gave him $1500. Rani initialed the contract showing I had paid him .$1500. I never saw Rani again. He asked the worker to get money each day. I gave worker $1500 the second day, Julio was in charge of the job. He said If I paid him $500 dollars, he would ask Rani to give me a break, with reluctant, I paid him. Rani gave me a form and wanted me to give him a good review before the job was completed. Rani said that Angies List was running a contest it had to be turned in before Friday, October 24, 2014. Like a fool I obliged. On Thursday,October, 23, 2014. 2 more workers showed up to primer the new facial. I asked them if they were primering the facil boards or painting, they replied priming. It was a flat brown that matched the old facial boards fairly close. As the facial boards dried 2 workers started putting up the new facial boards. On Friday, October 24, 2014, Julio asked for $100 dollars to power wash the stucco. While 2 workers were putting up the newly primered facial boards, Julio power wash the stucco. At about 4 o’clock, I asked Julio when they were going to start painting the facial boards, he said he was done. I said you can’t leave the job like this. I was supposed have the facail board with painted with Behr Semi-Gloss. I asked who is going to haul this trash away? He said ask Rani. I called Rani got no answer. I sent a email. I received a e-mail October 27, 2014. Rani said he was sending a person to clean up the mess and too give him $150. I called Rani and he said I owed him $150. I said I am not going to give you anymore money. You did not do the job that we agreed on. You did no sanding no fixing of dry rot, no painting with Behr Semi-Gloss. You put holes in my stucco from the ladder, there are bare spots on the facial, damaged my flashing, removed flashing not put back up. removed a 2x4 that hold the plywood on my roof, damaged my roof by raising the plywood while removing facial board. I am not asking for a full refund. I will pay for the materials $90 for the primer and $45 for the 9 facial boards for a grand total $135. I should have gone with J & B Painting. They gave me a price for $5000. I know they would have done a good job. As for Inception Home Remodeling I would not refer them to anybody. Angie List I hope you do the right thing and remove this company from your list.The total cost I paid Home Inception Remodeling $4340, Julio $700, total $5040. I am asking for a refund of $4905. Rani called me and wanted me to change the review or I would be sorry.I refuse to change the review this company deserves all F’s.

Rani was great to work with and was very responsive throughout the process. His team demo'd the tile counters and backsplash from our kitchen and replaced it with caesarstone counters and a stone backsplash. As with any major project, there were some hiccups but Rani was quick to respond and got the issues fixed in a timely manner. Our new kitchen is beautiful and I would use Rani again, as well as recommend him to a friend for their needs.

First, Rani was able to come out and do an estimate quickly, which was great since I wanted to get the repairs done before I moved in (I had just bought the house). The laundry room door widening, exterior wall repair, window replacements all went perfectly. The door was exactly the size and location I wanted and the paint matched perfectly (which I was a bit worried about as one side of the wall was a fairly strong orange color). The exterior paint also matched perfectly. The windows look great and are extremely easy to open -- it's a pleasure to use them. The bathroom fan replacement had a few hiccups. The fan/heater combos themselves were very nice and well-priced, but the original installation left gaps in the ceiling in the master bath and some drywall scattered around. Rani was extremely responsive when I contacted him about this, however, and had someone over the next day to fill in the gaps. It took another few days to get the ceiling painted, but the final result was of the same caliber as the other three repairs. The windows and fans were excellent quality for the amount they cost, and overall I got excellent quality work quickly and was pleased with the results.

I chose a time-bound option with Inception Home Remodeling to take care of several walls in my house after I had it re-piped. The workers were punctual, nice and professional -- also extremely hard working. They required some oversight to ensure tasks were completed correctly. In some cases minor parts of walls were started with a wrong color but when noticed the workers fixed the error. Only after they left I noticed a few very, very minor issues (missed spots that weren't painted on the wall, etc.). I've had two similar situations to this where other painters have come to my house and relatively speaking the job done was multiples better in quality than any others I've experienced. I found Rani to be straightforward and genuinely wanting to earn our business. He was flexible when it came to pricing and wanted to ensure the job was done right. At cost to us in the end was the paint, coverings (plastic sheeting, paper cover), tape, sandpaper, etc. in addition to a time-bound option for painting (we opted for the 40-hour job advertised via angies). Overall I'd use Inception's service again.

The quote was far more than we expected. Some of our questions he answered were too vague. He emailed everything that was included. The allowances were very small. He was pleasant. We ended up getting a refund. I probably wouldn’t use them because they are not local. He was understanding when we had to reschedule. He had good communication.

All went well. I would suggest for other purchasers to measure their windows or area needing repair and pre-purchase the necessary supplies so that you use the repair time most efficiently. That was mentioned by a previous reviewer about the loss of service time when needing to pick up supplies and it was also mentioned at the time we made the appointment. I simply didn't know other than wood was might be needed and even then, I wasn't sure what kind of wood should be purchased. Carlos arrived and we went to get the necessary supplies. I elected to go to a nearby lumber yard instead of Home Depot for the time factor. It did surprise me the cost of wood! Carlos removed the dry rotted material and replaced it with the new wood. Taped the brick for protection then sealed it, primed it, and painted the window sill white. I gave a good on the quality only because the materials are not fully settled into position, but all looks well. Proof is in the pudding as they say, but I do feel confident that all will be well. Rani was quick to return calls, get the appointment scheduled and followed up during the day of repairs. Overall, things went well. I would consider contacting them for a bid on future projects.

Carlos arrived on time and worked a hard 10 hours every day. Very professional work and would definitely hire again.

Rani was very prompt and professional when he came by to provide an estimate and list of materials that I needed to purchase. He was very clear about what his carpenter would and would not be able to do. We had initially hoped he could repair damage above an awning but Rani felt that the risk that they would not be able to replace the awning was too high. Refreshing honesty! Rani provided a list of materials I needed to buy and said he would reach out to me after a week to see if I had them. Unfortunately it took me three weeks to buy all the materials. This was when the biggest hassle occurred. Once I had the materials I reached out to Rani to schedule a carpenter. Unfortunately they were always too busy. Week after week, too busy, too busy, too busy. I understood that my project was small but I had prepaid and purchased the materials. Rani kept saying he would call if something freed up. Finally I tried calling on a Wednesday and he said he had a carpenter who had unexpectedly freed up and could come by that morning. The work done was sufficient. I think the $250 I paid for the deal was acceptable, but the claimed value was $400 and I don't feel the quality of the work was worth that price. In addition Rani told me I needed to buy new screening, but the carpenter was able to use the existing screens (it was only the wood that needed replacing) so I bought that for nothing. All in all it was only minor annoyances, in the end the work we needed got done which is why I give them a B, but if I were to need work again in the future I would probably try a different contractor, one with more A reviews here.

I recently hired Inception Home Remodeling to paint the interior of my condominium. The painters did a wonderful job. They arrived on time, were friendly and respectful of my property. The job was finished within the promised time frame. Rani was easy to work with, and checked in frequently on the progress. There were no hidden fees or extra costs. I highly recommend Rani and his crew at Inception Home Remodeling.

He returned my call promptly and very politely after I called him. He was offering a Big Deal at the time and I asked for examples of work with my price point and he wasn't able to. He was a nice guy though.

Pleasant. Helpful. Would have used him if I could have. Rani explained that the services I required were primarily that of a framing contractor and an electrician, and while he could subcontract the services they were not things he could do himself. Also, the voucher did not apply to business locations, such as I had.

Here's the situation. If you want to buy their deal, make sure you have someone at the location every minute tracking how many hours they work, and make sure you are there to make any runs to the paint store. We were told 2 guys would finish the work in 2 days, one guy was provided for 4 days, and I had to interrupt my tenants at 8:00am on the weekend to do it. The second problem is, get in writing what they will complete in those 40 hours. Make sure you agree that hours the workers are on break (i.e., not labor hours) are not included. Also make sure you note that if they forget to buy something at the hardware store, or don't buy enough, that trips back to the hardware store are also not included. You are only guaranteed hours, not work, so you have to micro-manage that they will actually work, and finish the job, and not linger and fill the hours as they did for us. I was promised that it was enough time to complete the job I needed done, on SEVERAL occasions. I was very concerned it was not enough time, and Rani (the owner I believe) ensured me it was. Rani was also the first one to point out they didn't have to finish the job when the 40 hours was up and it was not done. For four days I or someone at the house met them at 8:00am. We made 5 trips to the paint store because they kept "running out" (though we have about 5 gallons left - $150 wasted). They tried to fudge hours, saying 2 workers were there 8am-6pm when one was there 9am-5pm and the other 11am-5pm. They counted hour long lunch breaks in the hours. They counted return trips to the hardware store in the hours. BUT THE MOST UNPROFESSIONAL PART is the the painter stopped HALFWAY through painting a door because he was at 40 hours (supposedly) and said he was leaving. I had to argue with him for 15 minutes (that we paid for in the 40 hours) that he could not leave with a half painted door. There were 5 other doors that were supposed to be finished as well, and only half of the baseboards were caulked. Now I have to find another painter to finish the job. They also left with heavy furniture all amuck because the paint had to dry - which I'll have to put back myself. Bottom line, the contract is for hours. And when that is the case, you put yourself at risk. They can do whatever they want with those hours (and trust me, they do), and whether the job is finished, half finished, or barely finished, once those 40 hours are up they don't have to follow through on any verbal promises of what they'll get done. If you want to spend 40 hours of your time clocking their hours and hounding them to finish in time, buy this deal. My opinion, go with someone professional, punctual, and honest who will finish the job, and do it in a promised amount of time.

It went pretty well. Rani was great to work with and very professional. He was friendly, attentive, and easy to get in touch with. He was very helpful when I asked him about various things. The guys on his crew were very nice also. The tile work is beautiful in the shower and on the floor. There were a few things that did not come out quite as we hoped, and when I told Rani, he made sure that they were corrected. Unfortunately, the mirror was mounted much too low and away from the wall at the top and against the wall at the bottom, so that my son could not even see his head in it. We told Rani about it, and it was corrected, but after it was painted, the wall looked a bit bumpy because of it being glued in the original location. There were a few other small things that left us feeling a bit disappointed, but since I only noticed them after the worker left (after he'd just come back to clean up some paint and tar from the floor), I hated to call and complain more.

Extremely solid work by the whole team. From color recommendation to detail work, Rani and his team were speedy, professional and knowledgeable. They even accelerated the rate of work based on our deadlines. We will definitely use them again, and recommend them heartily to others.

We recently purchased a new home and needed to have it painted. We contacted several contractors and even a family member who paints and received some very high bids. So we look at Groupon to see if there were any deals, there were but none that fit the scope of our project. We were about to give up and paint the house ourselves when I came across Inception Home Remodeling's deal on Angie's List for $1399. The process was easy but a bit scary; Angie's Lists requires that you pay in full up front to take advantage of the deal. However, you can cancel the deal if you speak with the contractor or vendor and decide not to move forward. Plus I had the added protection of paying using BillMeLater which would give me the added protection of reversing the charge if things did not go well. I purchase the deal a few days before the 4th of July and contacted the owner almost immediately to schedule the job. His name is Rani. Rani came to the house a couple of days later to see the scope of the work. He told me that the job would take longer than the 40 hours that I had purchased because it is a large home (4 bedroom, 3 bath 4000 sq ft painting surface with high ceilings) and would probably require at least 80 hours. I decline the additional cost and hours and ask that they complete as much as possible. **Beware of what these deals mean and ask about what you are purchasing. Are you buying 40 hours (8 per day x 5 days) no matter how many painters they send or are you purchasing 40 man hours (two painters x 10 per day = 20 hours). **Additionally the $1399 deal only covers the cost of labor no materials (including paint rollers) Rani was great at explaining the difference clearly, he wanted to make sure that I understood what I was buying. The First day two painters came out, they were on time, very professional and covered the majority of the downstairs. However, they did not show up with ladders. Which turn out okay because I had ladders and they were focusing on the downstairs the first day. The second day the painter got lost and was an hour late (different painter). I tried to find him but he could not tell me where he was. I contacted Rani very upset (all kinds of thoughts were racing through my mind. I was wondering was this a scam did they start the job and walk away etc...) and he resolved the matter. When the painter got to the house he wasted no time making up for lost time. I liked his work so much I even gave him a tip. The last day the painters showed up on time and completed the majority of the work upstairs. They then completed the trim and cutting work downstairs. The painters were very professional, meticulous and hardworking. I would definitely use this service again.

Rani and his team were excellent and did all the work as expected. They finished quickly and did a great job overall. I would recommend him to others.

When I spoke with the company, we both found that the deal was for something different. I cancelled the deal with company.

The service was great. I gave them a call and they were able to come out within a few days and were able to do the work on a Sunday for me.

Gutted room. Bath out, new walk-in-shower with bench. New cabinet, vanity, mirror, toilet. Paint, new plugs, lights and ceiling fan. Beautiful room.

They were professional, timely, and courteous. I do feel the deal was a little misleading though because they actually covered it and didnt repair it. The job, however looks lovely.

He came when he said he would. An employee did the work. I'm impressed with the job they did, and I thought the price was fair. They also did the work in less than a day, which I was happy about.

We prearranged the price on the phone and scheduled a time for work to be performed. Rani and his workman Wilmer arrived at the expected time. They understood the work to be performed and helped us to secure all required materials. Rani left the jobsite and returned at the end of the day, leaving Wilmer to work with my husband as previously arranged. They worked cooperatively and efficiently together, finishing the job quickly and expertly, in high heat.. I intend to hire Inception Home Remodeling again! Thanks, Rani and Wilmer!

Met with Rani 03/31, work started two days later. Efficient crew knew what to do. Cleaned up sites! Have hired them for another job.

The room looks great! So much better. The crew worked very quickly and efficiently. And Rani was extremely responsive from start to finish. Each day, the crew arrived on time and completed the daily task so that the job was finished at the time and to the extent that Rani originally estimated.
