They were a little curt and needed to change our appointment time for my estimate. I thought their price was good and their follow-up was good though I would give them a B for our initial interaction.

we were worried night was coming and our door was half falling off and we couldn't close it. Chavez Doors came and before nigh fall had it in, realigned and working perfectly. They had to replace a small cable. It works beautifully now.

When I called on a Friday at around 7:00 PM I was expecting to leave a message since it was after business hours. To my surprise my call was answered and I was able to schedule a service call for Saturday morning between 9:00 AM and 11:00 AM. On the day of the appointment Humberto arrived on time at the beginning of the 2 hour window scheduled. He went right to work on the problem and replaced the 2 torsion springs and routined the garage door mechanical systems, tracks, rollers, etc. He finished the job in about an hour and showed me the working door operating. He gave me quick pointers on routine maintenance, such as lubricating the hinges and rollers. He was very professional left the area clean and tidy. A couple of days later, I noticed that the garage door opener motor was straining a bit when opening the door. I released the opener from the door and noticed that the door was out of balance. The door felt heavy and would slam down if it was let go from about 4 feet high or open. This not being right, the following Tuesday I called back and was able to schedule a Wednesday appointment at 7:00 AM. Humberto arrived on time and took care of the problem in about 15 minutes. The torsion spring need more tension to balance the weight of the garage door. When he finished the adjustment the door was near neutral balance. He tested the door with the opener attached and it was again working with ease. I gave a rating of B because I felt that this should have been checked the first time so that a call back would not have been necessary. However my experience with the company overall was really great. Everyone at the company was pleasant and professional at all times.

The reason I didn't complete the review is that you keep asking for the same stuff from the same people over and over. This job was done for me in 2010--about 2 years ago--and yet you keep sending me requests for reviews of this vendor. PLEASE, start paying attention to the reviews you RECEIVE, so you won't keep asking users for the same reviews.

Called Joe Chavez past 5pm and Joe answered immediately. I explained to him that I had scraped the garage door with the top of my SUV and the some rollers popped out of the rail. He offered their emergency (75.00) but said he can also schedule someone for 730am next day which I did instead. Technician showed up on time and immediately began to work on the problem. He then ensured that the door closed and opened correctly and made other adjustments such as tightening the belt, bracing a broken panel (was hearing loud cracking noises prior) and greased the wheels. I would have paid the same amount just for them to come and do the repair on the cracked panel. He also provided an estimate for a new door (at my request) and comparably speaking, they are competitive with the big box stores. Joe's estimate includes installation + lifetime warranty. The Tech said that my door is good for a couple more years though. There was no pressure to buy and felt I was receiving an honest opinion. I would highly recommend Joe's service to my friends & neighbors.

Provided the requested service quickly and efficiently. Bonus that this occured same day on a weekend.

He came out and did the work and said nothing additional needed to be done.

The service provider did a full tune-up, recommended some best practices to keep the door in tip top shape, and was very pleasant

I called the company on Sunday, and spoke to the owner, Joe Chavez. (how many companies are open on a Sunday.) Joe said he would repair the door Monday morning between 9 and 10 am. Mario, the technician came as promised, did the repairs and left. Very professional. I have used this company since the early 1980's. They are the best.

The serviceman was prompt and the job was done. However, I don't know that my garage doors were serviced as advised, and when the serviceman left 6 pointy screws were left scattered on the driveway that would have resulted in flat tires on my cars. I felt was job was messy...

We called at around 10:00 AM and they said they they would be here with in a hour and a half. They were here in 10 minutes, unbelievable. They had the spring and cable with them. Lube the door had rollers and adjusted the door to work better than it was when it was new.Thank to Bengie the service man and Joe Chavez Garage Doors, Gates & Remodeling. I called the office and these folks had a technician out to my home in less than 40 minutes. The tech made an instant diagnosis and told me exactly what the motor needed. He had the part with him. He told me the price and I told him to proceed. Within 30 minutes, he had repaired the garage door opener and was on his way. Now, my garage door works like it was new.

I called Joe Chavez based on his Angie's List reviews. He was actually the second vendor I called. I had called another vendor on the list but had to leave a message. I waited an hour for a response and, receiving none, made the call to Joe Chavez. Joe answered the phone immediately and listened to my concerns. He told me a service call would be $115. I mentioned that I was an AL member and had their $10 coupon. Joe Chavez advertises a $15 senior discount on his website so I also mentioned that I was eligible for that. Joe said he could honor it. I was running errands and told Joe I would be back by 1:00. Could someone come out then? Joe said he would call his technician to make sure he was available and then call me back. In less than 10 minutes Joe called and said his technician would be out to my home between 1:00 and 2:00. The technician arrived promptly at 1:15. He diagnosed the problem as dirt and dust on the contacts on the opener's motor. The problem was fixed by cleaning that area. He also oiled and checked the springs. I had an external remote that needed to be programmed and attached to the outside of the garage. The technician took care of that and also made sure that all the remotes were working. He worked quickly and efficiently, charged me $100 and left everything in order. The vendor to whom I made the first call called me back at about 5:00 Saturday. I explained that I had to call another vendor so the work could be done promptly. He said he was "in a canyon" and did not get my call right away. Since getting this taken care of was a priority I could not wait until late saturday afternoon for a call back. This vendor lost my business because he did not respond quickly enough. I would definitely use Joe Chavez Garage Doors again.

The company was professional and called me back when they said they would. They showed up on time for the estimate and when they installed the door. The installer did a good job and answered all the questions I had. The door is made very well and I am happy with it.

Signed up for a "Big Deal" to have our garage door and opener checked, reset, oiled and whatever. Our door had kept popping open and we were hoping it just needed an adjustment. Made an appointment and they arrived promptly. Worker was polite, professional, seemed knowledgeable and worked efficiently. His English was fine although it didn't help that his young son was with him and spoke perfect English. He tried to get the door opener to work properly but couldn't. Told me we'd need a new garage door opener. Agreed to have him put in a Linear brand which he had in his truck. Showed me how to use it and what may cause problems if anything too close to the door frame, etc. Made sure I had the instruction book. We don't use the door all the time but it's worked perfectly every time we've needed to. Very smooth, pleasant experience.

Called them up at 3:30 pm. They had someone out by 4:30 pm. Very quick fix. The person looked at it and gave a quote of $125 and explained that he would replace the hinges. Not very informative, but quick and courteous. For 15 minutes of work, the price was quite steep. When I asked at the end, he explained that they have a $95 minimum service fee. I would have liked to have heard that earlier in the conversation (either on the phone or at the beginning of the job).

Easy breezy. My old garage door was damaged and dented from the flying debris that were caused by the hurricane winds that hit Pasadena last month. So I called a few different garage door repairers, Joe Chavez's being one of them. They gave me the most competitive price, and was available pretty soon after the estimate. I liked how simple and easy it was to do business with them. And the new garage door looks great. If I ever had any other needs, would definitely give them a call.
