During the demolition of the existing kitchen they broke the pipe under the sink so I had to get a plumber to fix that before we could proceed. Kitchens Direct did pay for the plumber. The selection of cabinet hardware was very limited (I think 3 choices); on install day they showed up with the wrong hardware because the salesman ordered incorrectly. They had to return the following day with the correct hardware. Ultimately, I hated the hardware so much (p.s. they wouldn't give me a credit for the hardware initially as I told them I didn't want it and was going to buy/install my own at a cost of approx $300.00) I replaced it with hardware I had bought elsewhere. I never heard from the saleman again though I was making frequent calls to the store to complain about how things were goingThe shelves of the cabinets are only 10" deep; thankfully, I paid extra to get the "triangular corner cabinet with the glass door "or my plates would not fit. The front brackets for the shelves are set too far back so unless you put heavy items toward the back of the shelf..the shelf tips foward and things fall out. The little staples that they used to attach the trim are too long and the points of them stick out on the inside of the cabinet walls creating a potential for scratching yourself when you reach in. The doors and drawer fronts have a thin line (1/8") that is stained black for contrast against the brown wood finish. After 3-4 months the black stain disappeared leaving only unfinished light wood. It took many calls before I finally got someone to come out and look at the kitchen. He said he would send someone to replace the doors and drawer fronts as he agreed that the stain had sunk into the wood and was gone. He also agreed to replace two large sheets of veneer finish on the sides of the pantry and one cabinet as they were bowing out. When my someone finally showed up he had not been told the extent of the work that needed to be done so he came unprepared to do the job. I showed him what needed to be done and he stated that "I had gotten a bad install". When he came back the following week he was prepared and did the replacements. He seemed to be the only person in that company that gave a d*** about me once they had my money. Oh yes, you pay 1/3 of the total before each stage of the process begins (demolition, cabinet install, and granite install) so they have your money up front and you get stuck. He replaced the doors and some drawers, but after 3-4 months I see that the black stain is disappearing again. I guess it's time to get a black sharpie. Last week when I opened a bottom cabinet door (that barely gets opened) the bottom screws of the cabinet hinge pulled out of the wood frame. Also the sliding shelf in that cabinet that barely gets used has the front of the wood pulling away from the sides of the shelf. I will say in fairness the granite installers did a very good job.
Description of Work: Design the layout of the new kitchen. Remove existing kitchen cabinets, counter top and sink. Install new top of their line cabinets and granite counter top. Horrible! RUN DON'T WALK AWAY FROM THIS BUSINESS The salesman who came out to design my new kitchen did not measure properly. As a result the cabinet with the microwave shelf that I paid extra for is only 15" deep so you can only put a very small microwave or toaster oven there. I use it for my cookbooks. The crown molding on the pantry overhangs the oak wooden frame around the kitchen lights so the installers had to cut 1.5 " off the bottom of the pantry to make it fit. The salesman didn't measure the length of the kitchen correctly so the crown molding extends out into open air in the family room by 2 inches.
