The estimate was professional and of high quality. The price was high so we decided to go another route. If I could grade their price it would be a C for this estimate.

Robyn was very punctual and professional. Demonstrated his expertise. Although we would have liked to have hired him, his bid came in twice the cost of other bids we had secured. His bid seemed over-the-top and out of alignment - even with his expertise.

Remember when contractors took personal pride in their work? Remember when they showed up on time and did what they promised? Robyn is a modern contractor with a traditional view of his profession. He will give you a written estimate and then a contract that clearly specifies what will be done and when payments are due. He carefully explained what my job entailed; he was never condescending or intimidating. On the contrary, Robyn often ends a conversation about the work with, "It's my privilege." He went with me to the permit center in Pasadena and took the lead in getting the permits I needed and working with the inspectors (not an easy thing to do in Pasadena). After the first inspection, I never had to be there; Robyn took care of it and we passed each inspection with flying colors. I needed a piece of paneling to match a damaged area in my wall. The style was no longer available, but Robyn perfectly replicated it in his workshop. The doors I had replaced were hand-paneled on my property for me. Robyn's crew is superb. They show up on time EACH DAY and are very pleasant and are as unobtrusive as possible. They cleaned up each day when they finished. Robyn and the crew made several trips to the dump during the course of the job, so I never had construction debris sitting in my driveway. From wiring, to electrical, drywall work, plumbing, building a staircase, lowering a ceiling so the upstairs drains would flow properly, perfectly patching and painting walls and leaving the work area in a pristine condition when they finished, Robyn and his crew went beyond my expectations. It's wonderful to know a contractor who is always available by cell phone and insists on satisfying his customers.

Over the course of several months we received several quotes on getting our garage renovated. In order to find the best deal possible we searched out everything from general contractors to individual quotes on each part of the job (doors, electrical, drywall, etc). The highest quote we had was for $18,000 from a general contractor and the lowest quote we had was for $5000 from a handyman for just the labor but, that quote didn t include materials or the electrical work. When we finally found Robyn on Angie s list it was a no brainer. When Robyn showed up to quote the job he was on time and it was obvious from the start he knew what he was doing. While quoting the job he asked lots of questions and really helped us define exactly what we wanted to do. Robyn promised us a quote within a week and we got it a day later. The quote was very reasonable and so we went ahead with the work. Throughout the job Robyn and his crew worked very hard an were very professional. Every night before the crew left they did a great job of cleaning up. I am also happy to say that the job was done much sooner than I expected and we are extremely happy with the quality of work. I will definitely be getting Robyn to quote on any job I do around my house in the future. It was a very positive experience.

After months of trying to find someone to make this swing for me (No one would do the work), Robyn gleefully accepted the challenge of designing and creating a swing for me. He had never been asked to do it before and had never done it before, but thought it would be a fun thing to do! Then came the photos and video of the swing: smooth mahogney, expert craftsmanship--simply a work of art, and absolutely stunning. Robyn offered to install the swing himself so he could take a ride himself. It was a dream come true, a labor of love and one of a kind. Robyn is responsive, reasonable and something of a perfectionist. Everything must be exactly to the satisfaction of the client. It was a pleasure and that swing represents alot of things to alot of people. If I ever had need for his services, I won't hesitate to contact him or make a referral.

Robyn's workers Roberto and Francisco were both extremely courteous and professional. They worked quickly and with confidence. After their initial paint job, Robyn came to check out the work and agreed with me that some of the spots could use retouching. The workers came back at exactly the time we agreed upon and left the ceiling looking fantastic. Robyn also suggested a great website for me to find an exact matching replacement for the light fixture that was ruined by the water.

He was so helpful. He explained to me that I could do these things myself. He also offered to walk me through the projects. He did not charge me for coming out and talking with me about these things. He was a wonderful man. He was very honest. His estimate that he sent was so professional and specific. I chose not to go through with the work, but if I had I would have gone through him.

I'm a perfectionist. So, that said, I've learned that nothing in construction is perfect. Robyn impressed me so much not in being perfect at every step (which few would be) but rather in his 100% willingness to fix little mistakes or make changes to get the job how we wanted it. That seemed to be his primary goal: to make it how we wanted it - and he was very easy to work with as the project evolved and we made small alterations to our plan as we encountered various things along the way. It was great to have a contractor work WITH us. Only one little misunderstanding with a worker one day, so the B for 'Professionalism' due to that - otherwise, Robyn was one of the most helpful and interactive contractors we've had help us on this house (and we've had a few...).

This was our first home. It was a Craftsman bungalow that had been a rental unit for 15 years, and it looked it. Bad, filthy wall-to-wall carpeting, single floor radiator heat; 1 & 1/2 baths. When we brought Robyn Weeden over to look at the place to get his opinion, he had so many great suggestions as to how we could transform a Craftsman that had "really great bones" that we decided to go through with it. Robyn and his crew completely transformed an unremarkable Craftsman into a spectacular home. He sourced some pre-finished maple flooring from Canada (long before it became ubiquitous.) It was Robyn's suggestion that we do the horizontal pipe and the electric with a new box. Those hidden attributes that neophyte home owners don't often see the importance of. He also suggested the gas forced-heat. Plus, most importantly, Robyn was able to source just the exact claw-foot tub my wife wanted and turned what was a 1/2 bath into my wife's favorite room in the house. He made a great home!

They did a great job. I am very impressed. They were on time and on budget. They communicated well. He was available on the cell phone whenever I needed him. The bamboo floors came out perfect. I was very satisfied, and I recommend them highly.

Owner Robyn Weeden was extremely professional and the quality of his company's work was excellent. They finished the job in approximately 1/2 the time we originally anticipated the work to take. Robyn was quality and client focused throughout the job and quickly incorporated and executed all change requests as they came up. We would heartily recommend Robyn's Nest to anyone considering a new construction or remodeling project.

My husband spoke to Robyn to set up an appointment for an estimate. No one ever showed up. We've left several messages, but have not heard from him since.

Robyn worked patiently with us as our plans evolved and went to extraordinary lengths to make sure we would be happy. We wanted to use all composite materials but really didn't like the Trex balusters. Robyn customized the Trex post and rails to work with some powder coated aluminum balusters we liked. The result is beautiful, unique, and perfectly executed. Our house is older, circa 1947, and when we pulled off the old deck we discovered that there was dry rot in some of the house joists that abutted the old deck. We were very worried the night of the demolition that we were in for huge additional expenses to make the structural repairs to the house. Robyn came the next day and devised a sensible and affordable repair. He also bolted down a part of the house that was a newer and, unbeknownst to us, not secured. We used a fixed price contract and he never charged more than agreed for any item. We think he is honest and capable.

The overall job went well. Robyn was upfront about costs and quality. What you pay for is the quality and professionalism of the company. If you are unsatisfied or question something, Robyn will make sure you are satisfied. I was very pleased with the finished product. The cost was always presented to me beforehand, and daily tasks were explained to me in the morning and then again at the end of the day. Robyn was always available to me if I had any questions and always open to addressing concerns.
