Description of Work: They told me my struts had to be replaced based on the condition of my tires. After paying $1,200 for this -- I went to 3 shops for another opinion . all 3 places checked tires out and stated they were in excellent shape. I returned to Paws and they said they would return my money. ( They knew they had taken advantage of me ) On Monday I spoke with the owner who was rude, unproffesional and un reasonable, was yelling at me then hung up on me. Initially he said he would return my money then when his temper went out of control he reneged . They know they took advantage of an elderly woman and are counting on me to let this go. Since I have documentation showing they did work that wasn't needed - I am pursuing it. PAW does not have work ethics plus I was totally overcharged for the other work they did. They are not to be trusted at all and this place is what gives auto repair shops a bad name. This has been a horrible experience as I placed my trust in them and had to find out the hard way how shady they are. I am as vulnerable as all people who have to go in for servicing or car repairs -- we have to trust that we are dealing with honest people. Paw is not in any way honest. This was a very dismal experience. Be aware

+ -1 moreEveryone at PAW was very courteous and professional. We just moved to the area and found them through Angie's List. They were up front in recommending what our vehicle needed, and told us what didn't really need to be done right now. We will definitely continue to take our vehicles here. We had originally been told we needed the work at a dealership, but PAW offered more reasonably pricing and their customer service far exceeded that of the dealership. Whenever I speak to employees in dealership service centers I feel like I am getting hosed, but Brian at PAW told me what needed to be done and what work wasn't really needed. The folks at PAW seem honest and they did great work on my wife's car. We will be back and will recommend to friends.
Description of Work: PAW Auto Service replaced our timing belt, serpentine belt, some motor mounts, and water pump in our Honda Odyssey.

+ -1 moreThe provider suggested I buy the $125 worth of services for $75 at Angieslist and so I did. They had the car about half a day and really only fixed one thing, the turn signal bulb. It seemed rather convenient that the bill was also right around $125. When I asked I was told that mechanics are paid by the job not the hour. First time I'd ever heard that, since I remember seeing hourly labor rates posted in just about every auto repair shop I've ever been in. I need to be able to trust that my mechanic will be honest, trustworthy, fair and reliable. My trust for them is on shaky ground and I don't plan to return.
Description of Work: fixed turn signal bulb and pulled floor mat out to make it easier to press gas pedal/accelerate

+ -1 moreIt went GREAT! The biggest thing I am struck on is communication and honesty. However with PAW Auto there was class A service in both. The estaminet was dead on with the original quote that Brain had quoted me. I was in a rough situation and they not only did a great honest work but helped me get through these rough times. By giving amazing service at an affordable price. I won?t go anywhere else than PAW Auto service. Thank you Brian for all the help greatly appreciated.
Description of Work: My mechanic did an outstanding job. He corrected a potential serious problem with my 06’ Chevy Silverado. 1.) Misfire, corrected. 2.) steering rack. 3.) complete rebuild of steering pinions. 4.) Rear spring breaks shoes. 5.) Alignment & An attention to detail job on a over all assment.

Description of Work: I used an Angies List Big Deal to get my Air Conditioner recharged. They put in a dye so that they could check for leaks a couple weeks later. A couple weeks later, I took it in and they found a leak so they had to drain the refrigerant, fix the leak, and put the refrigerant back in. | |I put off filing a report until I knew that my AC had been working well for a few weeks. It is still working great about 3 weeks later. |

+ -1 moreAfter PAW SVC CTR said something about my shocks and struts last week, we decided that something needed to be done really soon. I called and made the appointment earlier in the week to get the parts lined up. I took my car in at 8 AM so they could get the job done in one day. When they opened one of the parts, they found it was faulty. They really had to hustle to get a new part so my car was not done by their closing time of 5 PM, but they stayed late and got it done by 6 and I got my car back that evening. I think that they also fixed some other minor things that hadn't gotten fixed because I hadn't gotten around to ordering the special parts that I had been told I needed by another garage. It was a bit of a drive to get there so we had some fun avoiding the traffic on I-8 during rush hour. This would have been better if we had dropped the car earlier in the morning and used their key drop and picked up the car the following day.
Description of Work: PAW Auto Service Installed new shocks and struts for both the front and rear of my car and rechecked my alignment.

+ 0 moreI just got new tires yesterday, and they said the tire wear indicated that I needed an alignment. I got on Angie's list this morning and got the alignment deal with PAW from Angie's list. They were really prompt in sending me a note saying to call. When I called to set an appointment, we found this afternoon was available. I went in, they have a building labeled alignment center. An hour later I had my car back. They did a test drive and told me some more service that I needed done. This is believable because I had been putting that service off on my older car. There was an extremely minor issue with the unfamiliarity with the Angie's list deal. I think we got everything worked out correctly and I am satisfied.

+ -1 moreThey were good. I happened to have a friend who is a mobile mechanic, and he comes to my home, so I no longer go to PAW, but if I didn't have him, I would still be going to PAW. I didn't meet the mechanics who did any of the work, but the front office staff was very friendly.

+ -1 moreIt was pretty good. They did the service within a month of purchasing the Big Deal. They didn't charge me extra but they diagnosed that something was wrong with my AC system. They said it might cost me extra and were really clear on the terms and conditions. It took a while to actually diagnose my car but once they did everything, they didn't charge me anything extra because I didn't chose to have anything done aside from what was included in the Big Deal. Overall it was a positive experience. My car is alright.

I knew I needed an alignment badly and my service experience began with the $49 coupon offer. I think I got quality work. I asked them to inspect everything and recommend service. Before you know it, a $49 coupon turned into $1200!!!! (Careful with coupons!) I drive often in remote areas, so I'm grateful that I can trust my vehicle, but the $$$$ was a little tough to swallow.

+ -1 moreI brought my car into PAW Auto Service because my air conditioning was not working on one side. They began working immediately and kept me updated the whole time. The mechanic re-filled my refrigerant and put some dye in to see if there was a leak. I came back a week later so that the mechanic could see where the leak was. He found it and replaced the part right away. While he was working I had a lovely chat with the owner and I can tell you that there is not a more honest place around to bring your car. Everyone was friendly, they explained exactly what they were doing, performed the tasks in a timely manner, and gave me a great price. I highly recommend this service center for any and all car service needs.

+ -1 moreI know John (the owner of the shop), I stop by to have my BMW 530i serviced on. The service engine light was on and my gauge (temp) would show a pick in the red zone and return to normal. I had John check the service light and indicated to him that I though "the thermostat need replaced". John preformed the regular tests, pressure, leaks, and fluid levels, check service light and read the codes. The checks were done everything check out okay. The service light returns a code for thermostat sensor. The thermostat sensor was replaced and also the thermostat was check out to be okay. If I would have gone to the dealer the price would have multiplied by a factor of God knows what?. The shop is an honest shop and the personnel are very professional. They will work with you and help you out with the problem. They just don?t replace parts until the problem is solved . My son is in collage and I have introduced him to the shop so that he has a reliable professional shop to return too when his car is in trouble.
Description of Work: Thermostat removed and replaced for a 2001 BMW.
