We informed Weekend Maids that this was a "move-in" clean, and left specific instructions, which were not followed.
Our piano was being moved ahead of our furniture, so having the music room floor cleaned was at the very top of our list. When my daughter came to let the piano movers in, the floor was still filthy - the maids, who were present, had not cleaned it in time for the piano movers. My daughter had to clean the floor herself so the piano could be moved in.
Our instructions stated that the kitchen needed special attention, specifically wiping out ALL of the drawers and cupboards, and cleaning the oven. This was not done at all. Our oven is full of baked-on food, crumbs, and other debris, and the air vent was not wiped out either. I have taken pictures of the oven, cabinets, and drawers - the pictures prove that they are all still dirty.
The rest of the house is not clean to professional standards - it looks as if the cleaner simply pushed the dirt around. She even left dead bugs in the windowsills. Also, Weekend Maids were supposed to call upon completion of the job so we could inspect their work and sign the invoice. We never received a phone call, just an invoice left in the hallway (which we were not given the chance to sign).
We are not faulting the cleaner. When we tried to talk to her, it was clear that she did not understand English, and we don't believe the company gave her any training. We are, however, very unhappy with how Weekend Maids has chosen to handle the matter.
When we called to complain, the company sent the cleaner back. She was very nice about it, but does not understand English, and since we could not communicate with her, we eventually gave up and thanked her for coming back. It became apparent that she had not touched the upper cabinets because she did not have access to a steps tool (we were told she'd bring her own equipment). The cabinets and oven are still dirty.
We called Weekend Maids to cancel our "move-out" cleaning at the old house. They wanted to know why. I told them that they had done such a poor job with our "move-in" cleaning that I could not trust them to do a good enough job with our old house.
Weekend Maids called me yesterday to confirm our "move-out" cleaning, which we already canceled. I reminded her of how bad the service had been, and that I was very disappointed to receive such poor service after so many years. The one time we genuinely needed help, they failed us. The next day, Laura called to ask why I was unhappy with the service. We told her why. She made an excuse for the cleaner's language skills, claiming they didn't have a translator available. (We do not care what language a cleaner speaks, but we informed the company well in advance of our needs, and they had plenty of time to translate the list for the cleaner. We know for a fact that they took notes because they confirmed their notes showed it was a "move-out".) Laura then said "I'll call you back" and hung up.
Laura called me back today to discuss the matter and told me she will get back to me. I still have a dirty house.
However, they called me the day before cleaning on December 27 to notify me of a transportation problem and asked to reschedule.
I said,"no problem" and reschedule for the next week (because of the holiday--just before New Years).
The cleaning was supposed to be on a Thursday, January 3rd at 4:30pm. The company called again and asked to rescheule for the next day, Friday, January 4th at 4:30. Again, this was no problem with me. On Friday, they could not make it at 4:30 and notified me it would be 6PM before they could be there. I thought, they would not be in a cleaning mood at 6PM on a Friday and told them they could come at 8AM the next morning--which seemed helpful to them.
Thus, I just want to make a note that I am understandable and a reasonable person.
A husband and wife team cleaned my home for 3 hours. I have a 2900 square foot home.
This was the third time they have cleaned my home.
This time, the couple spend over 1.5 hours in my master bathroom "cleaning".
During this time, I kept walking up stairs to see what was taking them so long and noticed they were just doing a lot talking about their personal life (in Spanish).
In short, they could not finish the entire house because they spent so long in the master bathroom. The husband later told me it took so long becuase it needed to be "detailed". My bathroom is not and never filty. Nor, was it excessive dirty (staining, etc).
I later informed the weekend maids representative the events on the phone (when they called for my next cleaning appointment).
I informed the person on the phone that the husband and wife team could not finish the cleaning because I felt they lost tract of time talking in the master bathroom.
Perhaps she was related to this couple because she basically became angry stating how I was never happy with their services. I have a large home and don't want to pay for extra time and hung up on me. ( Now, when first arranging for this cleaning, I was told that 3 hours of cleaning with 2 people would cover a home up to 3400 square feet.)
I am complaining for the following reasons:
1. They rescheule foten but will charge you, the customer $40 if you don't give them a 48 hour notice that you have to rescheule.
2. It does not take 2 people 1.5 hours to clean a master bathroom. (I can clean my own bathroom in 30 minutes).
3. My concern over the telephone was met with pure unprofessionalism and rudeness. I don't think everyone here has this attitude but I will not give my business to any organization who treats me like this.
