I was pleased with the high qualify of workmanship. They spent many hours prepping before painting which is probably the most important part of any painting project. They made sure I was satisfied with every detail of the job and offered to return to fix any issues that might come up later. Very good customer service, friendly and easy to work with. I found Del Mar Painting through HomeAdvisor for painting my homes exterior stucco, trim retaining walls and wood fence. David contacted me right away, came over to my Carmel Valley area home, walked around measured, asked me what I wanted to do and came back with a detailed quote which was a little more than other quotes but included every little detail that I'm sure others would have upcharged me for and the best Dunn Edwards paint while others were for Sherwin Williams. Dave and his crew showed up on time every day and took every precaution to cover outdoor furniture, turf, etc. They've done a wonderful job and we are very pleased with the experience and results. Dave (the owner with over 25 yrs in the business) bid painting our 4,000 sq ft two story stucco home and showed up part of every day to personally do all re-stucco and cracked stucco work and assure work progressed in accordance with the bid. Juan (with over 5 yrs experience in painting and a former roofer) was the lead on the job and he had one other co-worker helping. He also took pictures of our roof damage advising us where a roofing company needs to hired to bring the roof back to standard. Del Mar Painting shared with me documents that confirmed they were both insured for liability and carried workmans comp coverage during our job. I highly recommend using fully insured painters. Prep-work for our job was extensive due to the residual vine damage on several sides of the home due to neglect of the former owner. I was very pleased with the effort to remove the majority of the vine damage prior to painting. I had my gardener cut back 8 inches all shrubs and bushes away from surfaces to be painted prior to painting which I highly recommend doing. The painting was accomplished by 2 coats of spraying and rolling paint on the stucco on the home and several stand alone supporting walls using Aristoshield or Evershield premium Dunn Edwards paint on appropriate surfaces and also included specialized metal paint on chimney caps and cast iron surfaces. Del Mar Painting only uses high end paint to assure paint sprayers don't become clogged and paint goes on easily without blotching. They also are able to offer longer warranties than competitors as a result. I was pleased with the daily clean up during the job and consolidation of equipment that was covered when needed. Any overpaint was fixed as the job progressed and on final inspection day minor paint over splash that escaped notice was removed using Krud-Kutter paint remover. As with any major painting there was some paint on bushes and plants near the house that managed to evade the tarps and had to be later cut away - a minor inconvenience. There also was some overpaint residual around the foundation after the job was completed that was an unavoidable consequence of painting close to the ground which probably could have been further minimized had I insisted on trenching the perimeter of the house as specified in the contract which I did not insist upon because the entire foundation of the house either touched hardscape or was entirely surrounding by bushes. The trim which included non-color matching downspouts was completed with care with excellent results. I had reviewed other jobs completed by Del Mar Painting prior to hiring them and was very impressed with the excellent trim work in each case - some of which were very challenging to complete. In summary, I was very pleased and enjoyed working with Del Mar Painting and highly recommend them for any painting no matter how difficult. It was a pleasure working with Dave, Juan and other painter. They were also always very respectful of my input and that of my wife during the job. David and his staff were easy to work with. They painted the entire interior of our 1500 sq ft town home and it looks fantastic! We are very pleased with his work. Reasonably priced and very professional, can't ask for more!

Friendly, responsive, hard working

Dave Swanson and his crew did an incredible job on the exterior and interior of my new home. They completed the job within the time frame that was originally quoted, were consistently on time to the site, and communicated each step very clearly. Finally, when we asked for them to do a grey wash on the fireplace, we showed them a picture and they were able to get it exactly right! I'd hire them again in a heartbeat.

We are very happy with Del Mar Painting. We had our entire house painted, and we got a great price and the result was awesome. David is very easy to talk to and maintains great communication throughout the project. His crew works fast and they are also great at keeping up good communication and working through all the details with us. They were all very respectful of the property and kept everything very clean and organized. They made the whole experience very easy. They also helped us choose the colors and we are happy with the result. Overall just a great company and I highly recommend them!
