Description of Work: I would summarize my experience with Convoy Auto as saying, in the end it all worked out and I appreciated the professionalism and service I received. I was also grateful for their work guarantee. I had several things fixed on my vehicle a few months ago. I have since had to return several times because of problems with the original work. Although I was very frustrated with this process and felt the work and parts should have been better quality from the beginning, the owner accepted responsibility and compensated me for some of the extra costs.

Description of Work: In addition to my oil change, Joe gave me a 38-pt inspection at my request. This unearthed a faulty ignition coil. Sure, it cost me a little more money than I was wanting to spend, but it saved me a ton over what I would have spent in the future. Joe gave me a fair price for good work and earned my loyalty. I expect to take my wife's car there before the year is out.

+ -1 moreThey offered a discount and they take appointments. They were pretty fast at repairing the problem. It didn't seem like they were doing unnecessary repairs; they didn't tack on extras. The staff was very helpful and wrote down all the problems I was having with the car. They were knowledgeable. The shop was clean. The price was just about right.

+ -1 moreWe have used Convoy auto repair several times over the past few years. As our cars age, various things start to wear out - alternators, ignitions, clutches, etc. Most recently, my son's car was towed in (at night) for a fuel pump failure. They responded early the following morning with a plan, followed up with an estimate a short time later, and we had the car back by the afternoon. Really not sure how they compare to other shops on price - I have always been so impressed with their professionalism and rapid response that I have not shopped around. There may be less expensive shops out there, but I would not trust my cars to them.

+ -1 moreI took my car in on a Saturday. They told me that they would call me on Monday. They called me an hour later and told me the problem. They were very professional and up front about what they were doing. We ended up not getting the leak fixed.
Description of Work: I took my vehicle in because I had a oil leak and asked them to find it. They also did a smog check.

+ -1 moreThey had very poor responsiveness! I was promised a callback for a quote on an alternator but never heard back. (Should have heeded the warning) I took the car in at 10:30, per appointment, but they didn't call me until near closing time with an assessment. At that point, there wasn't enough time to complete the work. They were expensive! The bill was $545 for the catalytic converter (parts & labor). I checked another garage after the fact, and it was less than $200 (parts & labor)!
Description of Work: They diagnosed the ''check engine light.'' They replaced the alternator and catalytic converter.

+ -1 moreConvoy auto repair was very professional and explained everything that needed to be done clearly. Since this was a second opinion, I felt confident that the work was really required. They knew that the car was needed on Sunday to be driven up north and they stayed late on Saturday to complete the work with out having to be asked. An unexpected problem occurred when I drove the car home Saturday evening, the radiator pipe broke and coolant was blowing out. I called and they replaced the whole radiator (which was not part of the original work) Saturday evening (after hours) at no charge. Great customer service! Thanks!
Description of Work: Nine year old Altima with 91k miles needed a lot of work to be safely transferred to daughter. All the belts & hoses, fluids, flushing, leaking gaskets, new plugs, tune-up, alternator, etc.

+ -1 moreEXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE. GOT ME IN QUICKLY AT 7:00 AM, CALLED ME BACK AT 8:30 WITH AN ESTIMATE, AND THEN CALLED AGAIN AT 11:30 TO SAY IT WAS DONE. MOST COMPANIES SEEM TO TAKE ALL DAY AND THEN YOU NEED TO WORRY ABOUT GETTING THERE BEFORE IT CLOSES. NOT THESE GUYS! I DEFINITELY WILL BE BACK!!!
