Honda Service Outlet did not replace the front crank seal although it was charged for on the invoice. Apparently, they applied a "shady mechanic" stop gap fix that didn't work. Replaced seal was returned as evidence. Additionally, any reputable mechanic will replace the belt tensioner, water pump and all seals while the front of the engine is disassembled for timing belt replacement. Parts are inexpensive compared to labor. Honda Service Outlet did none of that. I have been trying to get Honda Service Outlet to pay for the successful repair. Leo initially stated he would see what he could do but has since failed to return my calls or answer emails. Leo states the repair was accomplished before he took ownership even though he was the agent who took in the repair and invoiced the job. There is a "history" regarding ownership of Honda-Acura Service Outlet. Leo Allen (aka Muhammed Ali - owner) is a smooth talker who tries to talk his way out of being accountable for the fraudulent and substandard work performed by Honda Service Outlet. Don't be fooled by the presentation. Results count and this result was unacceptable. This used to be a reputable service and repair shop before it changed hands. Now, Leo owns the shop and does not deserve the reputation that preceded his tenure. I want them to pay the bill for the repair they were paid to do in the first place. $721.22 I will be filing a claim with the Calif. Bureau of Automotive Repair Services.
Description of Work: Took 1997 Honda CR-V in for oil leak repair. After several attempts to repair and weeks of time, the vehicle still leaked oil. Honda Service Outlet charged $977.41 to replace oil pan gasket, valve cover gasket, timing belt and front main crank seal. Paid for in full. Took vehicle back for another valve cover gasket - ruptured and gushed oil. Vehicle still leaks oil. Customer moved out of area and parked vehicle. Finally, had oil pan and gasket replaced at home. Still leaks oil. Took vehicle to reputable repair shop in Vacaville. In 24 hours, the repair was complete at a cost of $721.22. Tech report indicated leaking front main crank seal which had silicone RTV packed into the seal. Additionally, they installed a new water pump, timing belt tensioner, timing belt (previously installed belt was damaged with oil), front crank seal, cam seals and valve cover gasket. All wear-out parts were changed while into front of engine.

Quality and workmanship are equal to dealership but price is approximately 65-70% of the dealership cost. I have used Service Outlet for over ten years for everything from simple oil changes to engine rebuilds of my Honda and Toyotas cars and trucks and have yet to be disappointed.

Description of Work: My car kept overheating and was not driveable and he found the problem. The price was very reasonable. I am very happy with results. They are under new management and Kevin has a new partner and no longer owns it with this wife.

It went well - although it took more than one visit to find all the issues and fix them, Kevin was patient and worked through it to a satisfactory result. He went above and beyond by coming in on Saturday etc. to find and fix problems. He is my trusted adviser for the car.
Description of Work: Fixed a check engine light.

OK. I have taken my car here several times for just an oil and filter change. They are about $25 dollars cheaper than the dealership.
Description of Work: 5,000 mile oil/filter change. The mechianic didn't seem to be expereinced with hybrids. He kept turning the engine on and off becuase he couldn't hear the engine "turn over". Hybrids don't do that and it worried me that he didn't know that. No problems with the oil and filter change. Took about 45 minutes.

Air conditioning went out on my Accord. Priced the replacement in Los Gatos, over $2000.00. I had just moved to Roseville, didn't know anyone here, found them online, called them and talked to Todd. He gave me an estimate of under $1000.00. I took my car in and they fixed it properly and found out that there was also a problem with the Condenser so I had that replaced also. Total bill was $1190. They were courteous, friendly and knowledgeable. My daughter dropped me off to get my car and as she pulled in her radiator (2000 Honda Civic) was smoking. Todd came outside and said we needed a new radiator so I gave them the work and they charged me $275.00 for the job which I thought was very reasonable. They did a fine job and quickly. I would highly recommend Service Outlet!

Kevin's coupons come about bi-monthly in mass mailing, promising 10% off any single service or repair over $50, not including sales tax. This time Loretta had no discount showing, and when I asked said that the discount was only on certain parts. I didn't have a copy of the coupon, but figured I'd clear things up next time around. When my keys hadn't arrived 5 days after the service, Loretta (not Kevin) returned my call explaining Kevin had thought his wife would mail them but she'd gone out of town. He'd mail them next day. 4 more days, I call, insisted on talking to Kevin, who says he'd forget, would mail them next day. "I guess I should have called you" he said. 4 more days, Friday, a card in my mailbox says a postage due package is held, I wind up not getting it till Monday, over 2 weeks after day it was promised to be mailed. And $2.28 short of the $4.50 postage. I fax a letter to Kevin, never got a reply. Good mechanic, but lost my business due to lack of respect, focus.
Description of Work: 99 Honda Van left for routine maintenance (we've used this shop for almost 5 years, low miles make for every 9 months or so maintenance stops) and found the work ALMOST fairly priced, see next section. This time my wife dropped me off to pay, and used her set of keys to drive the van away, I paid and then drove my car home. The cashier Lorretta didn't give me the van keys, I didn't notice. I was all the way home when she called & apologized, and I said rather than drive a 22 mile round trip for my keys to the van to please put them in the mail -- she said they might not go out till the next day. Several days later I called when they hadn't arrived, and she said she'd given them to Kevin to mail. And I was reminded how I'd had problems getting Kevin to call me back, even to set up an appointment or to answer a question, and so had my brother in law who I'd referred to Kevin about 3 years ago. The tale is one of a failure of Kevin to take his pledge "1st Priority - Customer Service".
