I originally contacted Richard to see if he could put in a small door to access the space under our staircase. When he came to our house to view the area and give an estimate, he shared that he would not be able to do all aspects of the job. I appreciated his honesty, and decided that I'd use someone else for that job. I had a few other jobs that I needed estimates for, and Richard shared that he would only be able to do one of those jobs, which was repairing a gate that was sagging and wouldn't close properly. Again, his honesty was appreciated. He provided an estimate of $80 + parts. Richard also offered a 10% Angie's List discount. I hired Richard, and on the day he was scheduled to do the work, he arrived on time and did a great job. I recommend calling Richard for your handyman work!

Richard did an excellent job. We have a 1/4 acre lot and our backyard lot is on a slope. He and his daughter finished the job in one day. This job would have taken us several weekends to do so we were very happy to see it finished so quickly before the the deer return and break more fence boards to get into our backyard. I was also very pleased that his original quote of $611 was changed to $499, because he found that he could reuse existing fence boards that were in good shape. He saved us time and money, because we were being talked into replacing the entire fence by one of the big fencing companies in the area and their estimate was over $8-10K. I'm glad that we called on Richard.

Richard is very professional. He came to my house prior to when repairs were done to see what I needed done, propose how he would fix them and e-mailed me an itemized bid for everything discussed along with the cost for labor and parts. We then arranged a mutually good time for the work to be performed. On the day of work, he arrived on time and started immediately tackling the list of to-do's. He worked very professionally and quickly, but still payed attention to the details. The garage door came out beautiful...did a great job. The backdoor no longer has a huge gap when I close it and the sunscreen on the door is no longer falling off. The only snag he hit was the wood floor stain, the fix we both thought might work, did not, wood really needs to be replaced where water damage occurred. Richard was not going to charge me for this task since the fix we both thought might work did not. But he spent time on it and really tried to make it work; I insisted that he accept payment...since the installation of the batteries were not part of the original list we called it even. (I could never have reached them myself or maneuvered on the ladder the way he had to.)

He was great. Punctual, professional, friendly and funny to my kids. Asked questions when needed. Was great.

First, this is a small family business. Richard does all the estimating and work. My initial call was taken by his wife. He responded the same day. On his request, we communicated by email from then on. His responses were always very prompt. I sent him a list of tasks and he offered to come the next Saturday to review and advise on them. He told us what he could and could not do. For instance, we wanted control of the bathroom light and exhaust fan to be separated. He said we would need a licensed electrician for that because it involves running new wire inside the wall. He actually talked us out of a bigger change than we needed to increase our home security. He showed us how to lock our sliding patio door for added security. We have not been in our home very long and are still learning. So, his advice was invaluable. He was thoroughly professional. He sent a proposal in spreadsheet form, with all labor and materials itemized. We agreed to his proposal. He offered available dates and we selected one. He made every effort to show up on time. He lost an hour on the highway because of a fatal accident that morning. He had to travel a pretty good distance and we felt bad, but he actually apologized. He phoned us from the road to let us know he was running late. We appreciated that very much. His work was top notch. He completely cleaned up and made sure we verified everything before he left. We could not ask for more.

The two wooden kick plates moved out of position, which would have allowed the upper portion of the wooden fence to collapse. Some soil needed to be dug out in order for the replacement boards to be properly positioned. Richard thoroughly cleaned up the area where he worked, was very friendly, and explained everything he was doing.

Richard did a fabulous job with all of the work! I would highly recommend and plan on using him again for more projects. :-)

Richard did a great job! We have had problems over the years with this gate. Not only was the design he came up with great but the construction quality and a couple added features he did were wonderful. He was very responsive when I first called and came out promptly. His communication was outstanding and he kept us informed of when and what time he would arrive and how long he thought the job would take. He was spot on with everything. I would definitely use Richard again for any Handyman needs.

Richard was punctual (to the exact minute) and did beautiful work. He was efficient and his billing was very detailed. I am 100% confident in his work and plan to use him again very soon. He thoroughly impressed me personally, and professionally.

I had pointed out where I thought the shower needed to be re-caulked. Richard finished and announced that he took care of some other caulking in that area that he thought might be a problem - which I thought was great. He then tightened a new tub spout for the other bathroom and caulked that. Lastly was the built-in computer unit which came with the house. The problem was that the installers had gone through great lengths to make sure it was really bolted down. It was a difficult project which I had attempted, but just lacked the strength, will, and tools to do it. Richard finished the job in no time and cut up the remaining debris so it could be hauled away more easily. He worked straight through, going from one project to the next. Overall - well done and good use of time.

Richard visited promptly for scope of work and provided estimate via email within a few days. He performed the task on time and per budget quote. The new wood lattice around deck looks great. He removed the old plastic lattice and left deck and surroundings very clean.

He's available for my my tenants. I've used him a couple times and will definitely use him again. He is an outstanding provider.

This is my third time using Richard and his quality of work is excellent. The high wind storms took down several sections of my fence. New fence posts, top and bottom rails had to be replaced. Richard was great with recommending to re-use the fence slats that were still in good condition and only replace those that were rotted, to save money. The wind storms in the bay area were horrific and everyone's fences were tumbling down. I called Richard, he went to the home to assess and quote the project and was able to start and complete 4 days later. The fence looks amazing, looks brand new, and the quality is fantastic. A really good handyman with great work ethics is hard to find. With Richard it is all about quality and I love that about him. Good old fashioned man with good old fashioned values and ethics. I highly recommend him.

Richard is really good at what he does. He works with minimal direction (a good thing) and is very clever at coming up with fixes. He is punctual, professional and fast. This is the second time I've had him over and it won't be the last! Highly recommended.

Richard arrived promptly to survey the work, provided a bid within 24 hours and scheduled the work within a week of my accepting. He arrive on time to do the work, used good materials, made a professional installation and completed the work quickly.

Richard is extremely professional and meticulous. His responsiveness to getting the quote together was one day and getting the work done was less than a week. He takes his work very seriously and does an amazing job. We needed work to be done on our rental home and we live across country. Our tenants and myself could not be happier. We will be using Richard as our "go to" person if anything arises and needs to be fixed. He's a keeper. I would highly recommend him on any project. He has very strong work ethics.

Richard was great start to finish. He was very responsive to all emails and was on time for the appointment. We took a quick tour of the house to show him what needed to be done, he gave me an estimate on the spot and then got to work. With the downspout work alone he saved us quite a bit given we were able to resolve the issues with him versus the gutter cleaning service which likely would have been more expensive but really no more effective. We will definitely be calling him back again in the New Year.

He removed old faucet that another handyman was unable to do, probably because he was not familiar with an old style of the brand. Richard found that the hardware provided by the new company needed a longer pipe connection. He went quickly to Home Depot and returned with the part. Despite the very involved directions he finished the job in good time and cleaned up. I appreciated his up front quote. I am glad to have found someone I know will be capable and dependable.

Richard was very responsive during the scheduling phase. I have a very busy schedule, so I liked the fact that he communicated via email. He was punctual and professional when he arrived and got the job done. I am very happy with his services. I would definitely use him again.

The new doors look beautiful. As others have noted, Richard is very responsive, he stays in touch and his messages are clear and to the point. Scheduling for the work was a little tight, but Richard got everything done on time. I really appreciated that. He offered to come back after new carpet was laid to make any additional adjustments, but none were needed. I would certainly hire him again.

Richard was great. He provided excellent service at affordable prices, was honest with his abilities, and had an awesome sense of humor. He's wonderful to work with and will go the extra mile (or 40 miles in my case) to help out. Will definitely use him again for future projects!

Richard has to be the busiest handyman in our area, as our appointment with him was two weeks after our original contact with his office. But, it was well worth the wait, as Richard was punctual for both the day he came to give us an estimate for the work to be done, and the day he completed the actual work. On the day of the actual job, Richard went right to work, explaining what he had to do to both doors to make them open and close smoothly once again. He fixed the striker plates on the entry door and the garage entry door as well. He cleaned up afterwards and, upon request, promised to give us the name of a reliable door company in the area, when we are ready to replace the doors entirely. There is no doubt we would call upon Richard's services in the future.

After receiving a bid from Richard to fix my shower door, hang a couple of curtain rods and replace a light cover in my kitchen, I made an appointment to have the work performed. Richard arrived on time and did all work as requested. He is courteous and professional and I'm happy with the work performed especially the shower door which has given me problems the past few years. The only thing I'm not completely happy with (and I don't really think it's Richaed's fault) is now that the new curtain rod has been installed the other smaller rod that is on the same window is visible and a bit of an eye sore. I may ask if there is anything Richard can do about that. In his defense, it wasn't in the statement of work. I am also planning to hire Richaed to hang a new chandelier in my dining room.
