Service Provider ResponseRainbow International did not complete any work for this respondant. We provided an on site storage unit only, at the request of the insurance company. It is over two years later and we still have not received payment on this. The insured has been requested several times to sign and have her husband sign the check the insurance company sent to cover the cost of the onsite storage unit. The insured has refused. At no time did ANYONE request that the insured forge her husband's signature. This customer will be sent to collections for the balance owed. We were requested to meet with the adjuster on site per the insurance company, which set up time with the insured. We arrived at the appointed time. The insured had already hired a contractor, who had provided demolition for this loss. This was a category 1 water loss and removal of drywall and flooring was not necessary. We were very patient in explaining to the insured's contractor, the numerous mistakes they had made, using the IICRC S500 as a guideline. The insured's contractor did not even have proper moisture meters or hygrometers in which to monitor proper drying of the home. In addition, this home was built prior to 1979 and the contractor did not have affected materials tested for asbestos prior to demo, which is required by law. The contractor hired by the insured simply used "rip and tear" as their method of demo. Rainbow International, again at the request of the insurance company, monitored the structure for moisture and additional moisture was found in every room the contractor had removed materials from. We have photo documentation of said moisture. This contractor also did not provide proper air movement or dehumidification in which to be able to dry the structure in a timely fashion. We agreed to the inspection of the home at the request of the insurance company, simply as a courtesy to both the homeowner and the insurance company. After a water loss, if proper procedures are not followed and the structure not dried properly, additional damages, including mold, can occur. We attempted to enlighten the insured's contractor to these dangers.
