It went very well, very professional through the whole process. Emily (the daughter of the owner) actually came to the quarry with me and helped me find what I wanted. Then we emailed back and forth and she was really the greatest. We are delighted with the end result. They also bent over backwards to meet our construction date requirements.

The granite slab contained numerous large resin spots that were dull and rough to the touch. To the layman, these resin spots would not be visible upon initial selection of the slabs. However, in direct sunlight, after installation, the spots were very noticeable. Pietra did not alert us to the presence of these unsightly resin spots. Had they told us about the spots, we would have returned the slab and picked a different one. We also had a granite backsplash installed. The installers did not extend the back splash to the edge of the counter. It stopped short and looks odd.

We ordered the original 1200 sq. ft. of tile because they were offering a special deal. Due to a screwup by the tile installer (NOT Pietra Stone), I had to order an additional 150 sq. ft. of tile two weeks later. After the 2nd batch was installed, we realized that the two batches were completely different. The surface texture of the second batch was much rougher. It did not feel or look like travertine stone. They sold us the wrong material for the 2nd batch.

We wanted to upgrade our kitchen without a large remodel so we decided to look into granite countertops. We initially contracted with a large retail outlet and were very disappointed by their tactics; just by chance we received a flyer on our doorstop and called for a quote; it was Pietra Stone and they were very competitively priced. As another member wrote "They made us feel very comfortable, gave us lots of samples, yet did not pressure us in any way". We had the same experience. They were on-time and accomplished the work with very little mess or inconvenience. They installed the new granite tops and cleaned up when they were done. Both the sale force and the installers were very helpful with suggestions. We plan on using them to install our backsplash as well. Normally I would not respond to a flyer in my door; however, given the timing and the fact that I was able to review this contractor on Angie's List, gave me the confidence to go ahead. I am very glad I did.

We wanted to upgrade our kitchen so we decided to look into granite countertops and tile. We stopped by Pietra Stone and talked to them several times. They made us feel very comfortable, gave us lots of samples, yet did not pressure us in any way. They came done on time and removed our old countertops and with very little mess or inconvenience. Then they installed the new granite tops and cleaned up when they were done. They next day they came back and started installing the tiles for the back splash. We were not sure on placement of a few of the inserts so they helped us with some suggestions. After a day of dry time they came back and sealed all the tiles and grout. All work came out beautiful and very professional.

Overall the job went well and we are pleased with the result. Quoting of the job was quick & professional, we made many design changes during the quoting and always had a quote within a day. Price was not the best we received from others, but was competitive. Job start and material delivery was exactly on time. Cracks in the concrete slab were treated with waterproofing coating, not fabric membrane tape as recommended by flooring books. Pietra charged too much for this service, and although I recommend them for stone flooring, make sure to insist on fabric tape for cracks. The job took 7 days, with the 3 person team always on time. During the installation of the stone, we had to remind the team lead once to pick from all 4 pallets of stone, as we noted not enough color/pattern mixing being laid down, but after that, all went well. Extra effort put in porcelain tile so it was level with the thicker stone. Team lead responded to any complaint to make sure we were happy.

Sales could have been better trained at suggestions and ideas. They did answer questions promptly though. They started when they said they would and never missed a day. The installers did a great job and were friendly. When most of the job was done, finishing a few small things and cleaning up was slow on their part and took a week or so to complete, but they kept in contact with us and did whatever we asked them to do. Overall, it was a good experience, and I have heard plenty of horror stories! I would definitely use them again and actually plan on it.
