Visionary Construction, Inc

Description of Work: In August 2012 I engaged the services of Visionary Construction, Inc. and contractor / salesperson, Orlando Ortega, to remodel a single-family dwelling in Los Angeles, CA. I was promised the work would be completed in 4-6 weeks. As of 11/13/12 the work was less than 50% completed and the overall quality was sub-standard. They didn't pull permits until two months after start of work. They kept demanding progress payments until nearly 100% of the original bid was paid out. After countless requests to fix things that were done wrong and finish the job, I had to hire another contractor to finish. During my due diligence into Visionary Construction, Inc. I discovered a lawsuit filed in LA Superior Court, KJ & DEP, LLC vs SAADAT & VISIONARY CONSTRUCTION, dated 09/27/12, case #BC492933, seeking $144,306 in damages for abandonment and sub-standard work. I also uncovered a small claims action filed in July 2012. They have broken numerous promises and commitments, performed sub-standard work and failed to pay subs. Neither Orlando Ortega nor Gagriel Saadat have made any effort to rectify the situation. I have made demands for restitution but have received no response. The roofing company hired by Orlando Ortega was never paid and has filed a lien against the property. I have asked 15-20 times for them to be paid and every time I was told, "no problem, I'll take care of it." For two months I've been given empty promises and excuses. I have an entire file of records and documentation, so none of this is fabricated. In 13 years remodeling properties and working with many professional contractors I have never encountered such mischief. They have stolen my money. Please do yourself a favor and do not use Visionary Construction, Inc, Orlando Ortega or Gabriel Saadat.
