A Better Way To Move

The move was accomplished in a reasonable time and Fernando and Casey were outstanding. They were pleasant and efficient and took great care of my sister in law's belongings. Call these guys first when you have to move--it will be worth it.

Company relocated a spinet piano from Northridge, LA County, to Cypress, Orange County. Completed the work in a timely, profssional way. Retrieved paino from second floor den, down stairs and onto truck. Traveled the 1-1/2 hrs. to OC and set in place in living room. No problems. Movers were very nice. Office staff very helpful with insurance value.

The best movers I've ever experienced, and I've moved a lot! From my first phone call to the end of the moving day, everybody was informative, thorough, careful and communicative. The moving men were friendly and professional, and went above and beyond to be helpful. You couldn't find a better company.

Very prompt and professional. The movers worked hard and barely took a lunch break (which we were not charged for). Took good care with all the furniture and put things where we wanted them, even doing some moving when we changed our minds about furniture placement.

Moving sucks. It's incredibly stressful and demanding. A Better Way to Move made the experience as smooth as it could possibly be. From my first conversation with them about estimates and scheduling, to my picking up boxes that I purchased from them at their location, all the way through to them dropping off the last box at my new house, they were absolutely professional and nothing but pleasant to deal with. When the crew showed up at my apartment on the morning of the move, they moved everything out quickly and efficiently. It couldn't have taken much more than an hour (I was living in a two-floor apartment with stairs between the floors) to get everything out and onto the truck. They were also careful to wrap furniture and other delicate items to avoid denting and scratching them. At my new house, they were just as efficient, unloading everything quickly and putting it where I asked them to. I really appreciated how much hustle they put into the whole thing. I have had experiences with other movers who dragged their feet, perhaps to run up the hourly charges. Not these guys. They got me moved as quickly as they could, without risking damaging my things. I can't recommend them highly enough. By the way, if you need boxes, they will sell them to you and then buy them back when you are done. If you buy new boxes from them, they buy them back at 75%, but if you buy used boxes, they buy them back at the same price. I found this to be a very helpful extra.

Excellent experience. This couple kept us in the loop throughout the move. This is a big company. Hopefully, all of their people are as professional as this couple.

3 Movers arrived on time, and in less than 4 hours moved me from 1 bdrm apt to a 2 bedroom home. Had extra boxes for clothing, etc - which made the move very easy. Excellent service and without headache. Moved boxes, furniture to the rooms I specified. Easy.

We went with another company because A Better Way to Move clearly wasn't familiar with the area where we live, and because the estimator didn't listen well to us. A major sticking point was what they would be moving vs. what we would move ourselves- A Better Way insisted on quoting for moving all items he could see in our residence because in his estimation we were incapable of moving anything ourselves. He was very polite and professional, but overall he wasn't quoting on what we'd asked him to quote on, and he was somewhat patronizing and insulting. As a result, we were very concerned about their ability to do what we wanted done vs. what they wanted to do, so we chose another company who both knew our area and actually listened to what we wanted done, instead of telling us what we needed them to do.

I searched Angie's List for a moving company and ended up choosing A Better Way To Move. I'm so thankful I did! The moving experience was great. I really loved that they provided wardrobe boxes free of charge! The 3 men that arrived were very friendly and extremely hard working! Never did I feel as though they were slacking and taking their time, something I was concerned about. They helped make my move to be the least stressful move I've ever done. I definitely recommend A Better Way To Move and when I need to move again I will be calling them! Thank you so much!

A Better Way to Move was prompt, professional, and made sure they didn't damage our furniture. They were timely and organized and had the right equiptment for the job.

They sent 2 men who arrived on time, worked quickly and efficiently despite having to work in the rain. They protected my belongings well and were responsive to my requests. They worked with me as I decided where to place things in the new office. They did make a couple of mistakes (e.g., moving something that was supposed to stay, putting something in the wrong spot) but corrected the mistakes without complaint. I would definitely use this company again.

It could not have gone more smoothly. This was a divorce situation and they remained professional and polite.

Extremely well. I was pleasantly surprised given the number of horror stories I have heard about movers. I will call them again in a few weeks when I have additional pieces of furniture to move, and if I move house, I will certainly contact them first for a quote.

Everything went along fine except for the fact that the driver kept getting lost (getting to our house and to the new house). He was an hour late showing up calling me from some area no where near where I lived. I'm not sure if it was an excuse. They had maps but you'd think that in this day and age they would have GPS. It wasn't a big deal as we were not billed for these time delays. When the guys did show up they moved quickly and safely. I would use them again as the price was very reasonable.

The company performed better than expected and their movers were very nice and quick. We noticed pretty soon that we should have ordered a third mover as our one bedroom apartment was more like a two bedroom with a lot of book boxes so we did hire the third about an hour in. My only complaint is that we had to take the afternoon move, West to East and the traffic cost me at least an hour of down time. I believe we wouldn't have had that extra expense if we had the morning move as we requested. There should have been some compensation in time/cost for that.

It was raining and I was on the verge of having a major meltdown because moving is already a pain without having to deal with sh*tty weather. Javier and Jose came to rescue me and my husband (from me)... on time as scheduled and with major can-do attitudes. I was nervous but they assured and reassured me that they had done moves in the rain before and that ALL WOULD BE WELL. We had most of our 1-bed apt packed up in boxes by the time they showed, but inevitably, there were odds and ends (like large mirrors, tvs, miscellaneous non-box-fitting items) they had to help us with, which they did. They also provided the wardrobe boxes which allowed for easy transport. When we got to my new house, it started pouring, and taking multiple boxes on a dolly up the stairs to the front door was out of the question (the boxes would get soaked). After a quick huddle to determine how to get the job done, Javier and Jose (and my dear husband - only because he wanted to) carried boxes up the stairs sans dolly, 2-3 at a time. Javier and Jose managed to bring in all the boxes (even the heavy ones), as well as the dresser, coffee table, mattress, and 2-piece sectional sofa...all through the front door. They moved quickly but carefully, and communicated throughout the process to make it as smooth as possible, asking which rooms to put the boxes (I had labelled them all for easy direction), how to position the furniture, letting us borrow tools to get through shrink wrap, etc. From start to finish, I think it took 3-3.5 hours, and from what I can tell so far, nothing has been damaged. My husband was originally planning to ask his 2 buddies to help him move and we are both extremely happy we didn't go that route.

We were looking for two things: 1) moving from a four bedroom home to a one bedroom place, and then 2) moving some remaining furniture in the home out of the house for pickup. Our move was from Redondo Beach up the coast, and we pre-packed our belongings in moving boxes. I've seen their truck around town, but found them through Angie's List as well as Yelp. I was busy prepping for the move when they arrived, so I can't honestly comment if they were right on time, but they called me twenty minutes beforehand and were right at our front door 20 minutes after the call. Paul, Alfonso, Simon?all three guys showed up with great attitudes. It was their 2nd move of the day and so I was stoked they were tired looking. Highlights were a) the three guys were very helpful and nice to work with. An example is that the furniture we wanted to move outside for pick up were actually a bit more difficult to move than planned. Sofas were too long or fat to move out of the front door, so the guys jerry-rigged a belt lowering system and they lowered it safely over the back porch. I would have been in trouble if I tried to move those couches out by myself. b) the guys were consciences about our things. If any item was previously damaged, the guys pointed it out immediately and made sure to let me know before they moved it at all. They were great at communicating like that - no surprises. They also paced themselves while moving, taking extra time to wrap or blanket if needed. It was better than just a fast move. c) the movers worked well together. It was clear that they were experienced, mature, and didn't fart around with each other. They were professionals all the way! I've since recommended their service to relatives and friends, and would definitely use them again. It was my first time using movers, mainly because of the extra moving of furniture, but it was worth it.

I've used professional movers five times now and this was without the question the best experience I've ever had. It started with Tim, who came out to do the estimate. He was so upbeat, sunny & positive (in a totally sincere, not sales-y way) that it literally brightened up the morning of a stressful, pre-move day. I didn't realize this at the time, but it turns out that Tim is the owner, and it's great when the person in charge gives you such a thoroughly positive feeling. I joined Angie's List specifically to find a mover, and there were three movers who had enough reviews of a high enough grade to merit a meeting. All three of them sent out estimators, and A Better Way was the cheapest estimate by almost 15%. This was just one of my considerations, but hey - it's always nice when it's cheaper. Another reason why I chose them was that I saw that in the relatively few cases in which there was a less-than-perfect review, Tim (or someone) got onto Angie's list to respond to the complaint. His responses were always gracious & reasonable, and it gave me confidence to see that this company takes their Angie's reputation seriously enough to be present & responsive in this way. I figured that if I had a bad experience for any reason, they'd be keen to make things right so as to remain in good standing with the Angie's community They sent four guys - Javier, Jose, Simon & Luis (I think Javier was the head of the crew). They were very efficient & friendly guys who worked remarkably well together. At least two of them have been with the firm for over 5 years, and it's good to see that kind of stability in an industry that often has very high turnover. The apartment we were leaving was an ugly setup from a moving standpont - up two tall and QUITE narrow flights of steps. Worse, our landlord had just painted the stairwell & hallways about a month before our move. When we moved in 3 years before, the perfectly-OK moving crew that we hired dinged up the walls in the stairs a fair amount, and I never blamed them for it - I would have honestly thought it was impossible to do otherwise (these were seriously tight steps). Tim assured me that the company would cover any damage done to the paint job while his boys moved me out - but miraculously no damage was done. Literally - when the guys were done moving everything out, the walls in the steps & halls were just as pristine as when they started. I remain astonished by this fact. Things were much easier on the other side of the move (a 1-story house) and the guys moved it all in very quickly. Tim estimated that it would take them 9.5 hours total and it literally took them that almost down to the minute. In any event the quotes that they give are "not to exceed" quotes, so they guaranteed that they wouldn't charge more than the estimate regardless of how much time it took (from reading the reviews of other movers on AL it seems that not everyone does this!). Nothing was dropped, nothing was broken. I will recommend this company to anyone for as long as they're in business. The experience was first class start to finish.

Everything went really well. They knew my stuff would be stored for awhile in my new home, so they were very careful in remembering this and preparing the stuff for longer storage.

They were excellent from the beginning until the end. They worked non-stop. They were very careful with all furniture. They made the trip to the new location as quickly as we did (the last movers we had dawdled for 45-minutes). And they asked many times if they were doing everything we needed, doing it well and if there was anything else we needed them to do. Best movers we've ever used.

The move went very well. We had a lot of very big and heavy objects that were handled quite carefully. Nothing was broken or damaged.

We had to move by a specific time and they weren't able to complete it in time. We had to call up a friend and finish the move ourselves at midnight one night. They didn't complete the move that night. They held a personal safe and computer hostage until we made the final payment. I told them I was going to file a police report, and then my items were delivered the next day. The workers were very pleasant to deal with, but the owner didn't show any professionalism when he decided to retain our goods.

Overall, this move was very smooth. I've used this company before and they are extremely professional and helpful. My problem with the company was after the move. We noticed a computer monitor was missing and a piece of furniture was severely scratched. We had paid for additional insurance, so we figured this would be covered. We submitted a claim, and someone called to see if they could come see the scratch, but we never heard back. When I called to inquire, I was told that my claim was never received. We lost the cost of the insurance (about 200, plus the cost of the monitor $200, plus we can only use the piece of furniture in a non-public area. I will use the team again b/c after many moves, they have been the most professionaly, but I won't waste my money on the insurance and I will fully inspect prior to them leaving.

They did a great job and were very courteous. They broke a glass door on one wall unit but were good about having a new one fabricated at their cost.

They were good and on time. They did a good job with packing. They didn?t damage anything. Overall, I was happy. They did pack the big items but not the little items. Their price was very competitive too.
