A Better Way To Move

They did an excellent job. They were fast, very well-organized and responsible.

These guys are amazing - this was the first time I didn't feel like I got ripped off once the move was done, this is my 3rd time using a moving company in LA, and they are the first ones ever I want to use again. They didn't transport a Piano, but they did transport our Pro-Grade Elliptical Machine (we requested people with Piano experience) and did a great job doing so. If I did have a Piano I'd definitely trust them to handle it. The guys Miguel and Brian did an amazing job. They were fast and professional, didn't waste ridiculous amounts of packing material (most other moving companies do this to increase the total amount), and they are masters of "Storage Unit Tetris" - it was crazy how efficiently they placed all of our stuff (we had a lot!) into our 10x20ft storage unit.

Compared to our other 20 moves in the past it was a good experience. Only flaw: Though we've mentioned 3 week ahead that we're moving to a bungalow on a tiny steep road, they came with a big truck and said it won't be a problem. When we arrived at the new house in the Hills the driver got worried to use the brakes and the manager suggest to park down the road and call in 4 extra guys (total of 8) to carry the stuff up the street. After we spoke to the owner and objected to pay for 4 extra men, they managed to park the truck in front of the house and everything went well.

The crew was professional and courteous. They worked h****** both the packing and moving days and packed everything perfectly. Although we haven't unpacked everything yet, it appears nothing was broken. They made sure to place everything where we wanted it. I have heard a lot of horror stories about movers, and these folks were basically perfect. Highly recommended...

The main office contacted me after I left a message and laid out everything, including cost, that would be involved in the move. I appreciated him walking me through the whole process since this was my first time using a moving company. The movers were on time (actually a little early but I noticed that when I came out to my car), professional, pleasant, and quick. I had most of my items packed but not the really big items (e.g. bed, TV, bookshelves, etc.). They handled all those well. There was no damage to any of my items and one of the movers pointed out some damage to the hardwood floors that had been there (I'd already seen this and notified the apartment manager days before, but I thought it was good he noticed it and let me know). Overall, they made a very stressful situation almost pleasant and the whole thing cost a lot less than I thought it would because they moved so quickly.

Everything about the move was professional, efficient and according to estimate. I have no complaints.

Tim gave us an estimate based on all our belongings fitting in one truck. On moving day, the movers arrived promptly and worked quickly and finished the job, even when it took longer than the original estimate. We were only charged for the estimate. Very professional, no hidden charges. Would use them again.

The men arrived around 7:40 am (the appointment time was 8), and 2 men were the same guys from the prior day's packing, so it helped. Everyone was absolutely hard-working, friendly and nice. It was probably the easiest move we've ever had. The crew was very efficient in loading everything up, and also checked with us on all the large items at the new house, to make sure they were going to the right room/space. One of the crew also packed all the wine bottles in the two wine coolers we have. The wine boxes were clearly labeled with the specific wine cooler and row numbers, that it made unpacking extremely simple. Nothing was broken. We highly recommend these guys - they were great!

The crew arrived promptly, and the actual cost matched the estimate. The crew was very professional, and they were very careful with all of my furniture and appliances. They arrived at 8:00 a.m. and had the last of my belongings carefully placed in a storage unit (a unit that I did not realize was too small, yet they organized everything to fit without jamming anything with force to fit in the space) by 1:00 p.m. That included a 29-mile trip from Long Beach to the storage facility. What a relief to have that done, and I would heartily recommend them to anyone who wants a moving service to hire with confidence that your belongings will be treated carefully, and one that will not surprise you with unannounced or hidden charges.

The crew arrived on time, wrapped and loaded amazingly quickly, were careful with all of our belongings, and were very pleasant to work with.

The movers arrived perfectly on time and wasted no time starting to load the truck. They wrapped each piece of furniture and electronic equipment and were very careful removing each item through doorways. Javier and Jose worked quickly, it took about two hours to load and two hours to unload. I was impressed with their efficiency and friendliness. They never complained- even when they had to remove the door to bring in the refrigerator. I would definitely use this company again - and the price can't be beat!

This was a great experience. The team was efficient and most importantly, they were careful with the furniture, the walls and the floors. The 3 guys were friendly and easy to have around. Very highly recommended.

This company is the best. I had various moving companies give me an estimate via the phone and on site. Tim at ABWTM gave me the lowest bid so I decided to go with them. He was very nice and honest about his services. He left me some informational pamphlets about moving in general and customer rights. I booked them about a month in advance. The week of my move I received a call confirming the move in date and time. I am an early riser so 8:30a was my requested time for arrival. On the day of the move Paul, Simon, and (can't remember his name but he was from Panama and wonderful) arrived at 7:45a ready to go. I must add that I took the time to label everything and have all my boxes packed and ready. I heard from them that this made everything move much smoother and faster for all. The entire team was in a great mood, smiling, laughing and joking as they worked hard to carefully pack up all of my belongings. They disconnected my appliances, broke down beds, rolled up carpets, wrapped up furniture in padding and plastic wrap and had all of the needed tools toto move with ease. I had a friend there to help and he basically sipped his coffee all day. All he could say is these guys are no joke, they are professionals. My biggest concern was when we were at the new house. I wanted to make sure that all of the items were placed in the proper rooms and just where I wanted them. This was no issue at all. They asked me various times if the furniture, rug etc. was where I wanted it. And if I need it moved a little more. Again, this was just easy easy. By 3pm they were finished and I was signing the papers. The actual move came in UNDER the estimate which is unheard of. I have reccomended them to other friends already. Just a really fantastic experience which one doesn't usually say when referring to moving.

ABSOLUTE BEST MOVING EXPERIENCE EVER! My husband and I have moved 9 times over the last 5 years (interstate, overseas, across town and down the street) and this was definitely the best experience we've ever had with any moving company. Called Vendel in a panic 4pm the day before our scheduled move date because the previous moving company I booked with failed to return my call to confirm my moving appointment with them. Left to assume that the other company had bailed on me, I was in a bind and Vendel pulled through with a great quote (much less than the other company had quoted me) and with a verbal promise to be there the next day by 5pm at the latest. He also made me feel at ease when he welcomed me to call him on the day of the move at 10:30am to confirm the movers' arrival time. He also assured me that his team would wrap all furniture with moving blankets and plastic wrap, and cover the new hardwood floors in the new apartment to protect them from damage. The morning of the move, I called Vendel at 10:30am as we discussed, and he was able to give me an accurate update of when his team would arrive. He told me to expect them after 2pm, and that the driver would call me as soon as they were done with their first move of the day. At 1:00pm, I received a call from Paul, the driver for our move, who confirmed they had just finished their first move of the day and were getting lunch before heading over to our location, and that we should expect them at 2:30pm. They arrived at 2:30pm on the dot, all ready to go, with plastic wrap & moving blankets in hand, and they set to work right away. Simon, one of the movers in the team, inspected each piece of furniture before he wrapped it and pointed out damaged that existed previous to the move to make sure that we were aware of it. All three of the movers, Paul W., Jose and Simon, took great care in wrapping our furniture (many expensive pieces with fine finishes), upright piano (full size, very heavy, with a very fine finish) and artwork and were very careful not to damage our belongings or the interior of the home during our move. All three of the movers, Paul W., Jose and Simon, acted very professionally throughout the move and treated us like family, taking care of our belongings and our new home as if it were their own. These are only some of the many outstanding details that made this moving team the most professional group I've ever hired. When we arrived to the new location, the team worked quickly to survey the best route to get the biggest items in and out efficiently and easily, and promptly went to work unloading the truck. It was the quickest, easiest, least stressful and most pleasant moving experience I've ever had, and I've had a lot of experience with movers. Paul W., Jose and Simon went above and beyond the call of duty, they didn't take any breaks and they worked as hard as they could to finish the job quickly and with the highest level of quality I've ever experienced. Their final bill for a 5 hour 15 minute move with 3 movers was only $647.00, which was $400 less than what I thought I'd have to pay if I used the other company. I so appreciated the job that Paul W., Jose and Simon did that I tipped them $300, and I truly believe they were worth every penny. I will only use A Better Way To Move, and I will always request to work with Paul W., Jose and Simon, and I will recommend them to everyone I know. P.S. Paul W. went out of his way later in the evening to return an entry key I had forgotten. He came all the way back to our place to return the key, at 9pm, after hours and off the clock as a courtesy to us. Now that is quality service, above and beyond what I would expect from anybody. And he did it with a smile! :-)

Tim gave us an on site estimate, arranged for all the guys to come the day before the move to pack up the entire house, and then the next day move everything. Everyone (including Paco, who managed the packing and move onsite) was great - fast, friendly, efficient. NOTHING was broken and everything placed where we wanted it!

I moved some things and they moved 80 percent of our goods from one residence to another. Everything about them was excellent.

Originally I called for help with an interstate move, and they told me they no longer do those. I asked for a reference and the guy was kind enough to give a very specific person to call at a national company. I really, really appreciated this recommendation, it saved me a lot of headache. So, when we needed a local mover, we called them back. We booked them for a Saturday afternoon a few weeks out. They told us that they could not give us a specific start time because it depended on how long the morning job took. When the day came, they showed up around 1:30p. They didn't call ahead to tell us exactly when they were coming, so we were waiting around a bit mid-day wondering when they'd show. Two guys showed up with a big truck and moved our apartment so fast it made my head spin. They then carried everything up two flights of stairs into our new apartment. They worked fast, they were extremely nice, helpful and polite. They had all sorts of tricks for getting a lot of boxes up the stairs at once and tools like a special mattress carrier, so they were very efficient. It was well over 80 degrees that day, and they moved some really heavy stuff without a hint of complaint or slowing down. They were really pretty impressive.

These guys are great - I'd happily use them again and again! They showed up on time, loaded me up and had everything in the right rooms at the new place in under three hours. Fantastic!

There was some mix-up with the time frames we were given and the time they actually arrived. The two men who came to do the work were friendly and professional. They took great care with all the items they moved. Despite it being a long job (7 hours) the guys remained very friendly and professional.

Excellent!! I have used this company 4 times now and they are the best. They are always polite and careful with your possessions. I will hire them anytime I have to move and will recommend them to everyone.

They were excellent! They were prompt and professional; cleanly dressed and courteous. I picked up donuts and they were very thankful. We got to chatting for a few minutes and they were very nice. I told them I was pregnant and they made sure I never lifted anything or worked too hard. They worked fast and were always asking for more to do- they were never idle. Once we got to the new house they asked me where everything went, and always checked to make sure that each item went into the correct room. At the end of the day they deducted for their lunch break and the 10 minute donut break, which I did not expect them to do. We happily tipped them 20%, for which they thanked us (did not ask for a tip or expect one!). I have now recommended this company to all of my friends and will use them for our next move.

I found them through Angie?s List. I was happy with what they did. It was good. They were an hour and a half late. They had a reason why, but it was a little frustrating. The move was okay. Other than that, everything else was fine. Moving is horrible, and they made it a lot less horrible. I also like that they even buy boxes and then sell them back, so that was really great. I would recommend them to someone else. I thought they were good.

The process was very smooth from beginning to end. I initially called the company and spoke to Vendell, who walked me through some routine scoping and planning questions. Took less than 10 minutes to arrange everything. Company sent me a packet in the mail prior to the move that explained everything about move day (paperwork, process, insurance options, etc.). Nice packet -- easy to get through. On move day, three gentlemen showed up. The team leader, Paco, was exceedingly professional and friendly, as were his team, Axl and Luis. We did a walkthrough of the apartment and garage and shortly thereafter the move began. My wife and I continued packing additional boxes while the team was moving. Move started around 8:00 AM and the truck was loaded by around 11:30. The team broke for lunch and met me at the new place. We were able to set up right next to the front door, so it was a straight shot out of the truck into the new place. Right angle turn inside the front door made some larger items tricky, but the team managed it all with care and skill. When the move was finished, Paco and I settled the bill and the price was exactly what I had estimated it would be. I even asked the guys to pose for a little group photo so I could always remember who had helped us with our relocation. I'd wholeheartedly recommend this company for your move. They make what can be a very stressful process into something that's straightforward and manageable. Again, the team was outstanding and I felt we were in good hands the whole way.

I have moved 17 times in the last 35 years and this was the easiest and smoothest move I have ever made. Tim's estimate was just a little over what it actually ended up costing and being able to recycle the boxes is a Big plus. The four fellows arrived at 8 in the morning, as scheduled, and treated my things as if they were their own. They made 3 trips to my new house and not a thing was damaged. They finished just before 5 pm and had all my furniture in the right rooms - carpets perfectly straight and didn't mark a single newly painted wall! My paintings were stacked neatly against the wall with paper between the wall and painted so neither would be damaged. This was a full 3 bedroom and large garage move and everything went off without a hitch. I will certainly recommend Tim and his crew to anyone who has to move. Thanks to a great bunch of hardworking and careful folks.
