I was really impressed with the company's level of professionalism. They were easily reachable by phone, responded quickly to come over and give an estimate. Every employee was courteous and professional in his part of the job. Our refrigerator had evidently been leaking for quite some time, just after we had had $8,000 of flood damage in the same area (kitchen) repaired only 2 months prior to this job. The insurance paid for the first job, but not the second since they claimed it was damage from a small leak in the water line to the fridge. I will also have them do the reconstruction of the area, since they've been so reliable thus far.I would call them again in a second, although I could've avoided the whole problem in the first place if the insurance company had suggested installing a leak detector ($7.00 item) behind the fridge. I now have them under the sinks, fridge, and washing machine! Live and learn. Anyway, SD Water Damage & Remediation Services is great company to work with!

Awoke one morning to the sound of running water from my upstairs neighbor and water dripping from kitchen ceiling. After water was shut off and plumbing repaired, I vacuumed and mopped up the water and ran fans to dry up the remainder. Low and be hold after some time and closing up for weekend out of town, returned to noticeable moldy scent and mold on pantry walls. Called my insurance company, they sent some one to inspect and evaluate. I was told to figure out who I wanted to do the mold remediation and reconstruction work. Condo board meeting minutes mentioned work San Diego Water Damage had performed work for another owner. I looked at Angie's list and other referral sources. Called San DIego Water Damage, Rafael Santiago came soon after I contacted him. Performed an assessment and gave me an initial plan of what should be done. He was professional, knowledgeable about what needed to be done and providing advice of dealing with insurance adjuster and actually called the insurance company about my policy coverage An independent adjuster had prepared an estimate for the reconstruction, Dave Guttas the construction manager, worked from the estimate and we collaborated on upgrades and configuration changes ( and agreed to costs) that the " to the studs" remediation for mold/water damage allowed. Rafael's crew as well as the reconstruction subcontractors were personable, professional. I had no qualms about leaving my keys in a lock box for worked to be performed while I was at work. When I would return home any messiness was cleaned up. To ensure expedient progress on the job, rented special equipment when needed for gluedown hardwood floor removal. When the reconstruction/remodel commenced, progressed smoothly resulting in a mild free kitchen with products and functionality. I hope not to need mold and water damage services agina but if I do I would not hesite to call San DIego Water Damage and Restoration to "bail me out".

Before calling the folks at SD Water Damage and Remediation Services we contacted a well known company in the area to get an estimate. They told us they would arrive at a certain time to give us an estimate, but never showed up. They apologized, but established in our minds that they weren't reliable. We then joined Angie's List based on advertising that my wife had seen and saw nothing but glowing reviews for SD Water Damage. We contacted them, set up an appointment and Rafael Santiago showed up right on the dot. He was extremely professional, courteous and very knowledgeable. He had two employees come out right away and remove the damaged material and start the drying process. Again, they were punctual, professional and courteous at all times. The renovation phase was handled by Dave Guttas. He gave us an estimate and stayed true to it the whole time. There were no up-charges or surprises. He coordinated with the plumber (Tim), the drywall installer/painter (George) and the tile installer (Hector). Unbelieveably, each one of these people we had to deal with was like a carbon copy of the other, punctual, professional and courteous. This company has the best set of core values I've seen in a long time. We told them we needed the job done by July 1 because we were having out of town company and they finished ahead of schedule. I would hire these guys again in a heartbeat.

They do a good job and they do what they say they are going to do. One thing I really appreciated was that they cleaned up after themselves as they were working. They also took out some damaged wall. I would definitely use them again in the future.

I contacted this company to inspect an area in my garage where drywall had absorbed rainwater that seeps under my door each time it rains. The owner answered on the first try, we chatted for a while about the problem and he sent one of his employees out a few days later (could have been earlier but my schedule didn't allow it). The inspectors called before they came on the appointed day to let me know they would be running a bit late (a lot better than sitting around not knowing if a company is going to show). They were curteous and professional and took measurements so an estimate could be made for the repair work. Rafael emailed the estimate the next day. Although, I have decided to do most of the repair myself, I am happy I this company came to my house - I would highly recommend them.

I didn't end up using them because they didn't reply to my request for 2 or 3 weeks. By the time they came to do the estimate I had already gotten someone else to do the estimate so they were not responsive.

Got name from Angies List and was very pleased with the service. Had a mold problem in a closet that I hoped was small, but feared it might be a major problem. Rafael arrived promptly, was very pleasant and professional and found the problem to be small (Yea!). His technicians arrived promptly, were very pleasant, were in and out in a couple of hours and returned the next day to pick up the equipment on time. Would highly recommend their service and would also highly recommend Angies List if you are looking for dependable work to be done on your house.

Walls had been soaked from flood, so they cut out areas and ran drying equipment over the weekend.

It was ok. They were not as straightforward with the costs associated with a dryout of a carpet and a wall as I would expect. They were interested to know whether insurance was paying which I didn't know at the time. That should irrelevant. They were quick to bring the drying machines especially since it was during the heavy rains in San Diego. The person who was my contact and set up the machines said they had a long drive to get to North County - which always meant a late morning appointment or late afternoon appt. Overall, they were friendly people. Next time I'd use a N.County based company first. The communication between them and the sub-contractor for carpet was poor. I had to call to request the final invoice which I received both from the carpet subcontractor (his rates) then also from SDWD with their markup on the carpet. Didn't seem organized. Overall, I'm happy with the end result, just wasn't as smooth as I'd prefer.

Overall things went well. The water was dried up. It was a little pricey, but then again I did not have time to shop around so I don't know what others are charging. The staff was very friendly and responsive.

Investigation of weird/bad odor in one of the rooms in our 1926 house. He did a thorough investigation and all is good. Just minor old water damage with a minor repair needed and the house is "old". He was timely, knowledgeable, friendly and fair. We would definitely use them if the need arose.

I had a leaky faucet in the kitchen sink which caused damage around the perimeter of the island. Wood was bulging out about 18" (about 4 rows of wood planks) out from the back of the island which measures only 5' wide. I noticed that SD Water Damage was ranked high on Angie's List and gave them a call. They came out within a couple of hours, ran their moisture meter around the island, peeked quickly under the sink and told that they estimated around $2800 to dry it out and remove the boards (but not replace them). They said they could give me an Angie's list "discount." I noted the other reviews and in comparison, my water damage is far less severe, but asking nearly $3000 for this when other people paid about the same for water damage in multiple rooms when mine was only around a tiny little kitchen island? I got another quote the day after with another highly ranked company on your list and the quote was $1048 to do exactly the same thing. He tried to tell me that had b/c it had been 7 days since I noticed the bulge that I potentially have a mold problem (w/o even investigating). He said the insurance adjuster would be able to give me a better idea since they have these priced out, but that his estimate would be pretty much on target with theirs.

We contacted San Diego Water Damage to dry and repair water damage to the kitchen and adjacent bedroom. Rafael came out the same day to inspect the damage and quickly provided a quote for the deconstruction and dryout. He showed us the extent of damage to the drywall with a thermal camera and provided a thorough explanation of what would need to done. After accepting the quote, the guys came out the next day to deconstruct and setup the drying equipment. They performed regular checks to monitor progress of the dryout. Rafael dealt directly with our insurance company for the deconstruction and dryout work, which was great. Once everything was dry, Bob supplied a quote for reconstruction. The quote was for a bit more than we wanted to spend, so we decided to do portions of the work ourselves and supplied the cans and trim for the recessed lights. Reconstruction began ~1 week after the price was agreed on. Were are happy with all of the work performed and found everyone to be very helpful throughout the process. We would definitely use San Diego Water Damage again.

The workers were on time and reasonably priced. Everything went as promised.

Rafael told me what he was going to look for in my home. He went about his job in a professional and thorough manner and narrated what he was doing and what he was finding. After his inspections he gave me a summary and recommendations.

We received three estimates on this work, and SD Water Damage/Restoration was almost 5K less than the two others, who were also on Angie's List. The workers arrived on time (or slightly early) for the estimate meeting and on work days. The woodwork was outstanding, and the workmen even made small repairs at no cost on several drawers. Our impression of Mr. Bennett, who did the actual woodwork, was that he was a craftsman of the highest quality and took pride in his work on every level. If we had it to do again, we would have draped off the living room, as the sanding required extensive cleaning afterward. We would recommend this company for honesty, integrity and value to anyone.

Do communicate; Don't jump into blames.

It was nice to find someone I can trust. The price was higher than I thought it would be but insurance paid for it and my agent said the price was reasonable. The technician that they sent was very knowledgeable, professional, and really nice to work with. He has been in the business a long time and he took pictures the whole time. They sent me a copy of the bill but they billed insurance directly. They set up the fans and they called when they were coming to check the moisture levels. I think that they did a good job cleaning up and I am satisfied with it.

They were so wonderful. If I could give them an A+, I would.

Master bedroom, master bathroom, guest bath, & hallway was flooded when toilet supply line broke. As a recent first time homebuyer not noing how home owners insurance worked I attempted to begin the drying out process on my own renting some carpet fans and removing some of the carpet and padding. After speaking with the home owners insurance agent, who insisted a remediation company come out, I called san diego water damage. The response was quick and the owner himself came out, I had thought that my efforts would have been sufficent to dry things out, until Rafeal the owner showed me the water still in the walls using a thermal camera, Being a father of two young children the last thing i wanted was a unhealthy enviroment for my children with the potential of mold growth in the walls. Rafeal told me not to worry and quit stressing my self out trying to do everything myself and juggle my job and family at the same time. He reminded me that these instances are why home owners have insurance. So a PROFESSIONAL took over and quickly went to work with a very knowlegable and friendly crew. If aanother disaster happens again believe me the first thing I would do is call a professional and that would be SAN DIEGO WATER DAMAGE

Rafael came over the same day that I called. He is knowledgeable, professional and answered all my questions and concerns. He checked for moisture indoors and along the wall outside to determine what caused the problem and to rule out a deeper issue such as a leak or moisture problem. There were peculiar variations in the moisture readings taken on the cement slab so he recommended calling California Leak Detection company for further investigation into possible leaks. (A plumber from Ca. Leak Detection charged $200. to come to the house. He did not use any instrumentation. He was not able to detect any reason for a problem in the closet. I wouldn't use Ca. Leak Detection again.) I appreciated the time and care that Rafael took and he didn't charge me for coming to look. I have spoken with Rafael since and I may use his company to clean and disinfect the carpet.
