Last week I realized the grout on the floor of the shower is disintegrating and I have seen signs of a leak in the ceiling below the shower. The work is less than a year old! Tile work should last for decades, not months!

Both jobs were done very professionally and very much to our satisfaction. The work was excellent and our expectations were exceeded in both cases. The team took great care to make sure out home was cared for in both jobs. The team was very polite and very professional. When we need some more work done on our home, Stemar will be the first call we make.

Initial contact went well and our designer seemed to have a handle on the direction that we wanted to go. We had a little back and forth on selecting the tile. Getting the confirmed start date was a little more challenging and did cause some frustration on our part, but in the end the job started when we needed it to and it completed just at the end of our timeframe.
Jesus who did the tile work was very nice and professional. He keep things very clean as he had to basically walk thru our entire house to get to where he needed work. He collaborated well when he had questions, always with suggested solutions, but willing to hear and execute our wishes. As we were nearing the end, we discovered that the decorative tile that was ordered would not work, so to keep the schedule on track, I ended up at a home improvement store to purchase the decorative time off the shelf. In the end, I am happier with what I selected rather than what we ordered, so it turned out well.
All in all, for the price, I was very pleased with the results.

Stemar does quality work. They're not the fastest workers in the bunch, and don't like working their teams overtime or holidays. But if you can work around that, they are a professional group who will work diligently to make sure you're happy with the quality and end product. I was very pleased with how knowledgeable their foreman was, and what great results they produced. Our bathroom looked like a spa when they were done, and they didn't break the bank in the process. You do have to stay involved in the construction process to make sure what you envisioned in way of original samples and product, is what actually gets purchased and installed. The communication between their sales/management teams and the labor force is somewhat lacking in that regard. But they will make sure you are happy with their work and the appearance of your project before all is said and done. In the interests of time however, make sure you are watching the progress so you can redirect if needed along the way. Overall, a very good bunch and I would hire them again in a heartbeat.

The project manager was professional and patient with us as it took awhile to decide exactly which tile we would use. He made a couple trips to our house with samples. We found a tile we liked at a local store and he went to the manufacturer and was able to get it for our job.
One installer did the entire job including plumbing and tiling and we are very happy with how it turned out.
The downside was that communication was poor and there were several days during the work where we were not notified that no-one would be working. What was originally supposed to be a 2 week project wound up taking 4 weeks.

They did very good work. They did two of our bathrooms and did a lovely job. They gave us a good price. They gave us a quote to re-due our kitchen for about $8,000, but we were interested in having just our floor done in the kitchen. They said they would call back and give us an estimate. I called them about week later and told them they never followed up. He said he would text us the price and I never received the text. I felt disrespected and dependably is a big aspect to me.

The bathroom was already done but a small portion had to be ripped out. I spent $4500. They redid some tile, they put some cabinets back in, they painted, they redid drywall. 2 persons came out and they were very prompt and they left the area wonderful when they were done. I would tell others that they were great.

A tree fell on my Mom's house. I contacted her insurance and they called Stemar for us. They were able to get out there the very next day and were able to get the tree off of the house so no extra damage was done. They had the tree chopped up and taken away. There was also damage to the fence where the tree roots broke through. They fixed that and they also replaced a few of the older warped boards that were no where near the damaged area. All that I worked with and spoke to were great and very helpful!!

A leaking sink in the lunch room of our business led to water damage in the cabinet and in the back wall. Several years ago, Stemar was recocmmended to me when we had extensive water damage at my home. We were very happy with their work then, so we contacted them for the current job.
They arrived when scheduled, provided an estimate of the repair required along with additional work we reequested. The price was very fair.
The work was performed by a very competent and courteous crew. They worked during our company's normal working hours and never caused inconvenience to our employees. They put down mats to avoid dirt or damage while they worked, and left the site spotless at the end of each day. All aspects of the job from start to completion were handled in a quick, courteous and businesslike manner.
The quality of the completed job exceeded our expectations and we plan on engaging Stemar for an additional project in the very near future

I don't think I have ever experienced this kind of professionalism and attention to detail. They put down paper for where they would consistently stepped. They covered anything that might get too much of the dusty kicked up especially when he did the tile. They kept the mold from floating too much around the house. It was actually a great experience.

Stemar Restoration, Inc., owned by Steve Marron, was contracted to replace damaged carpeting in my home and a sample of that carpeting was sent to Itel for analysis. Rebekah Weir, of Rhino Floor Covering, also owned by Mr. Marron, came to my house on October 8 to begin the process of re-carpeting. She had been told by someone at Stemar that I had been wanting to have all work completed by October 13, so she let me know that carpeting of the same quality was not available locally, that she could find it elsewhere, but it would take longer to get. What I understood from that was that the work would not be finished by the 13th. By this time, however, I was no longer in a hurry and gave no indication whatsoever that waiting was not OK with me. When she left it was my expectation that she would be getting carpeting of like quality elsewhere. Unfortunately, this did not happen. The carpeting subsequently installed by Rhino, on October 12 and 13, is of substantially inferior quality to the carpeting it replaced according to testing done by Itel. The difference in face weight alone is 31.7oz vs. 23.4oz. Steve Marron, speaking for both Stemar and Rhino, said I had told his representative that I would accept a carpet of inferior quality if it could be installed faster than carpeting of like quality. That is patently untrue. Not only was I never given that choice to make, I would never, under any circumstances, have chosen speed over quality. That simply would not have been an option for me. When I met with Mr. Marron he said that there had been a problem in communication and he gave me a 'one time offer' of $565.20 to settle the matter. I refused to accept and told him that I stood by my request to have the inferior carpeting removed and replaced with carpeting of like kind and quality as was originally promised. I have since asked Mr. Marron to arrange for arbitration and I have also filed complaints with The Better Business Bureau and The Contractors State License Board.

"We are always interested in hearing from our customers and sincerely regret your experience and series of events that has prompted your correspondence. Rhino Floor Covering was contacted by Stemar Restoration, for a carpet job at your home. We were advised that you needed carpet installed quickly. At the time of our meeting on October 8th we discussed matching your existing carpet and how quickly we could get it installed. As customary, our representatives had a sample carpet handbook and explained to you with the estimator present that we may not be able to get an exact match because old to new carpet will seldom be a perfect match. Rebekah Weir and John Salas advised you we would be getting the same style and getting a close match to your existing carpet. It was also advised at that time that this would take approximately 3 to 7 business days to receive and install the carpet. Because you had guest coming to stay at your home, you requested expedited service. We mentioned we could buy local stock that is similar carpet in a Berber style and you agreed. As discussed, this decision to expedite the service and purchase from a local vendor would be at the same cost of the budget allowed by your insurance company. On October 12th, the date of the installation we received a call from our installer, that the roll of carpet was defective. At that time Rhino representative Rebekah Weir and Joe Reyes went to your property to inspect the roll of carpet and proceeded to speak with you to advise you that the roll had a problem and we needed to get another roll. At this time we showed you a cut piece from the roll and your carpet sample at that time. We asked if you wanted the same color or wanted to see all the carpet color selection to make a decision. You advised Rebekah Weir and Joe Reyes that "your partner really liked the roll she saw outside." You requested for us select a close matching color and "get the job done." Rhino delivered samples and matched as close as possible and sent the installer back to do the job. The installer stayed at Ms. Becks' home until 9 pm to complete the job per your request. The "satisfaction and completion" form was signed upon completion of the carpet installation. Below are some of the items that Rhino Floor Covering and General Contractor Stemar Restoration rendered to exhibit great customer service: -2 Bedrooms carpeted at cost $500 savings. -Gave a $300 discount. -Free Custom Paint upgrade in multiple rooms ($350 savings) -Upgrade from vinyl flooring to ceramic tile in two bathrooms ($400 value). -Shower Soap Trays ($100 value) The above discount and free upgrades total for more than $1,600. We apologize for any inconvenience this situation has caused you however, after careful review of all the facts, Stemar Restoration and Rhino Floor Covering will not be able to refund the full amount of the carpet nor replace the carpet we have installed at your home. They arranged the painting company, putting the walls back, replacing carpets and stretching the carpet where necessary. They also restored the wood. They did a good job and sent out good sub contractors.
