I had hired this gentleman to find and fix a leak from my 2nd-floor bathroom into the utility room. He came to my house and had a problem locating the leak. I had faced the same condition in the other bathroom in my house a few years ago, so I had a feeling that it may be the same situation. I suggested looking at the overflow drain in the tub where the leak may be. But saying that that could not be the cause, he proceeded to cut holes in the walls in the bathroom, the utility room and the garage walls. After spending about three hours on the first day, he still could not find anything. He came back the second day, continued trying to find the problem, spent another couple of hours with no luck, Then he decided to look at the overflow drain in the tub as I had suggested the previous day. Sure enough, he found out that the rubber seal inside the overflow drain was damaged and that is what was causing the leak. He replaced the seal and that took care of the problem. He charged me $105 for the work done on the first day and told me that it is going to cost me another $180 to fix the holes that were made in the wall. I asked him to give me a break in the cost to fix the walls but he declined to do that. He did fix the leak and patched and fixed the holes in the walls. I feel that if you should look at the most obvious causes before proceeding to cut the walls up and do the process of elimination. I would not recommend this provider to anyone else unless you have a lot of money and time on your hands.
