I should have known there was a problem when it took over 2 weeks to get him out for the first repair. After the work was done, the sprinkler coverage was worse than before he made the repairs. We had to get him back to reset the rotating sprinklers in the back yard because they were not adjusted correctly and were rotating in an arc that covered our back patio and 2 sets of sliding doors with water in the middle of the night. He installed rotating sprinklers that required a key for adjustment and did not provide us with a key. My husband had to go to the hardware store to buy one. We adjusted the sprinklers ourselves throughout the summer thinking we just had a system that was inadequate for the yard, but 10 days ago the new front yard timer just stopped working completely. This time, we called a landscaping contractor to come out. He reports the sprinkler time installed on the front was done in a shoddy manner. There are actually seven stations and Cutting Edge installed a cheap timer that had only 6 stations and then just stuck the 7th station live wire in a grounding hole. The contractor was surprised that the timer ever worked at all since it was installed so badly. The manifold wiring was a mess with taping of wires instead of waterproof wire caps being properly applied. At the time the 6 station timer was installed, I questioned it because I thought we had 7 stations in front, but Cutting Edge insisted that it was all covered. Sprinkler coverage has been a problem all summer long and we've adjusted and replaced multiple heads, trying to get full coverage of the yard. We were gone for much of the summer, but every time we returned home, there were larger dead spots in our landscaping. Now it makes sense, that one entire line was not working at all. The really annoying part was that we told the Cutting Edge guy that we didn't know what was needed, but we just wanted everything done in a proper way. We never put cost restrictions on him but gave him a free hand in telling us what was needed. The man is incompetent and not a professional in sprinkler repair. He represents himself as an expert in sprinkler repair and at no time did he suggest that the job was beyond his expertise. We thought we were getting expert service. Furthermore, he never checked back to see if the work was satisfactory. After having the debacle with the rotating sprinklers in the back yard, we decided it just wasn't worth calling him back, never imagining the mess he had made in the front yard until the new timer stopped working completely. Our new contractor tells us the sprinkler system we have is quite adequate for coverage of our landscaping, but it needs to be properly adjusted.
Description of Work: Replaced 11 sprinklers, 9 rotatory sprinklers, 4 solenoids and repaired pipe leak. We had multiple areas that were not getting sprinkler coverage when we first had him come out for this service. Less than a week later, the front timer went out and we had to get him back to repair/replace the timer.
