ONE WAY PAINT & DESIGN

Overall was a very good experience. Met with Danny (after a slight miscommunication) and he gave me an estimate and explained everything about what to expect from the paint job. He was very professional and did thorough measurements to come up with his quote. The quote was higher than the other quotes I'd received but I was impressed with his thoroughness and so decided to go with him for the job. Marco was the foreman on the job. They did an excellent job. Everything was covered in tape and paper. They used Benjamin Moore and Sherwin Williams paint. I had requested BM throughout, but I think that got overlooked as I didn't realize the SW until they were done and gone and was going through the remaining paint cans. But the SW color looks great so I'm okay with that. I had a rather complex color scheme with different walls being different colors. I simply put tape on the walls with which color I wanted where and they did an excellent job of making it happen. That many color changes makes it difficult to get straight lines but they did a very good job of that at every corner. They start by skimming the walls and sanding, then they spray paint the baseboards/doors and trim and then rollered the walls. It looks like a completely different house now. They fixed all of the imperfections I found the first time (I'm quite picky I realize) and made sure I was happy with everything. Overall I would say the experience was very good (so a B+/A-) but that wasn't a choice. I'm a tough grader though and so unless somebody totally and completely blows me out of the water at every level I don't give As. So the B is still an amazing grade. And most importantly, I would use them again. The only thing I kind of wish I had done differently is I wish I'd have had them paint the ceilings but that was my choice and unless you are perfectionist (like me) they look fine. I'll try and post some pictures later of before and after because it is quite dramatic. However, I'd definitely recommend them to others. The paint looks great and they were a pleasure to work with.

Danny was extremely professional and took the time to explain everything to me when giving me an estimate. I really liked him and felt confident in his company. Unfortunately, the estimate was double what we were intending to spend. I would consider him in future though.

I've used One Way before (for house painting) and that's why I called them again. Danny is very good at communicating and working with you. He managed to squeeze me in on short notice and I really appreciated it. The powerwashing was a very dirty job, shooting mud and muck up the sides of my house and covering the windows, but his men were very good at cleaning it all off and by the time they were finished, you'd never know they were here except for the nice clean bricks they left behind. I would (and have) recommend One Way for painting and/or power washing and I would call them first for any other service they may provide. Their prices are very good and the service is superior.

Overall a very good experience. The team was punctual and very courteous. I felt comfortable having them at the home. They did excellent prep work and were responsive to details and corrections. They looked at these thoroughly themselves but also were welcoming of my comments. They willingly applied several test colors as this was included in the bid. They did a walk through at beginning and end. The price they quoted was higher than others but I felt they would do a better job. There were some things I needed to point out to them along the way; perhaps they could have corrected them on their own. They took longer than expected as a result of losing a crew member (that is my understanding). Water from cleaning brushes was dumped in the garden; I objected and they corrected this. Do ask them about environmental issues if this is important to you. The final painting outcome was very good.

There are not enough superlatives to describe my experience with One-Way Paint and Design. From the outset, Danny Tron was a true professional, taking time to do a thorough inspection and measurement of the house before sending a detailed estimate by e-mail. The bid was squarely in line with other bids I received, but Danny's confident attitude persuaded me to choose One-Way. I was not disappointed. His crew carried on this professionalism in their work on the house. They were extremely polite and attentive to detail. It became apparent early on that my house (which had not been painted in about 20 years) required more extensive preparation than was initially anticipated -- neither Danny nor the crew complained about the significant extra time it took to competently prep the exterior before applying the paint. My neighbors also were impressed at the extraordinary diligence of these folks, as well. I was extremely pleased with the quality of the work One-Way did on the house and also appreciated the suggestions offered by Danny and the crew throughout the process. They also were able and willing to do some of the handyman-type tasks (e.g., installing new porch and door fixtures) which made it easy and convenient to tie up those loose ends, and the separate cost for performing these tasks was reasonable. The extraordinary attentiveness continued after painting was finished -- Danny was more than happy to attend to a few minor details on the punch list and was insistent that he be informed if any issues surfaced in the future. I certainly wish more small businesses would emulate One-Way's business model where the customer is front and center, and the management and crew are professional, knowledgable and personable. I am delighted with my house! I definitely would re-hire One-Way for future painting needs.

Danny came to my home, measured and sent me his proposal via e-mail. Danny's bid was about in the center of the other bids I received. His price included a 5% discount for Angie's List members. He agreed to use the brand of paint I requested at no additional cost even though it was not the brand he'd initially offered. He came with his crew the first day and walked the exterior with them showing them possible problem areas and stressing planning and safety. (Parts of my home are over two stories high and some areas are difficult to access). The crew was able to stand and move on my concrete tile roof when necessary without breaking the tiles. The crew power washed the exterior that first day and then spent the next seven work days preparing and repairing the wood siding and stucco surfaces and finally painting. They did an immaculate clean-up each evening before they left and were on the job again promptly the next morning. The crew could not have been any more meticulous had they been working on their own homes - paid excellent attention to detail. The completed job was extremely neat, no paint on surfaces where it didn't belong and no "holidays' that I've found. I could not have been any more pleased with the attitude of the workers and the quality of the work they performed. I feel the quality of the work I received was well worth the price I paid.

Danny is fair and competitive. His crew is dependable and efficient. I have no complaints. I will hire them again this spring and again next year when I start my upstairs projects.

Ours is an 84 year old church in Westwood. I cannot find any record of the last time it was painted, a church member remembers it might have been in the late 70's. It's a giant building, three stories tall. There was extensive wear and tear and damage that needed lots of repair. I obtained 4 bids in September '11. One Way's bid price was in the middle of the pack but the scope of the work described in the bid is what sold me. All the work to be done was explained in detail. I met with Danny Tron and decided immediately that we would be choosing One Way. We signed the contract, selected a date, picked colors and shook hands. The work began with my introduction to all the team. We communicated constantly throughout the project. The crew was very polite and extremely tidy, cleaning up completely each day. The job finished on time. The building is beautiful. The project was completed and the process was painless. I would highly recommend Danny Tron and One Way Paint and Design.

During a DIY remodel of our bathroom I became concerned about lead in the old paint. I found Danny Tron at One Way Paint & Design on Angie's List and sent him an email on a Saturday afternoon in which I asked him for some advice. No doubt Danny likely had other things to do that Saturday, yet he responded to my email in less than two hours! I had never communicated with Danny before, nor did I have any immediate work for him, but he provided me with a very thorough answer nonetheless. I was and am very appreciative, and his advice was quite helpful. I will certainly contact One Way Paint & Design when I've got a big painting project in the future.

It is great. They were fast, thorough and we were very happy with them. They matched a color that we liked and were very responsive to all of our questions about everything from what products they were going to use to what kind of insurance they had and everything like that. They were good communicators and were willing to work within our budget. I will use them again in the future.

I would recommend them to anyone. They were superb and they showed up when they said they were going to show up. They did the job very efficiently and quickly. The person who came was wonderful. He came out with a notebook with all of his comments. He came out with all of his permits and certifications. He had everything and a wonderful presentation. It was him being very, very presentable. To come out with his presentation to assure me that he wasn’t just some fly-by-night guy. They were excellent and the price was good.

My experience with One Way Paint & Design was nothing short of excellent. The owner, Danny Tron, was great to work with. He is very responsive and thorough. He contacted me within an hour of my first enquiry on Angies List. At our first appointment he arrived early. As we walked around my house he pointed to a number of features on the house and how best to address them. (The house is 75 years old). He spent about 45 minutes talking about the project and what he thought would work best. He even suggested I consider re-siding the house and gave me references for that option. We ultimately settled on painting due to the cost associated with re-siding. He estimated the job would take 2 weeks and it took exactly that long. There was extensive wood damage which added to the complexity of the project. The crew were very professional. They were very polite and gave us updates as they progressed. They arrived early every day and got to work immediately. They took great care in their work and protecting the environment around the house. Windows and doors were covered as was the ground around the house. They policed the property every day, i.e. there were no coffee cups or lunch wrappers or soda cans left sitting around. I have used a variety of contractors over the years none with the work ethic, productivity and commitment to the job One Way Paint & Design provided. While they were not the low cost bidder, the comfort they provided up front as to how they would approach the project and how they would be available to address issues down the road gave us great comfort. I highly recommend them and would use them again when the need arises.

If all companies were as detailed oriented as One Way Paint and Design with the quality of work, the level of professionalism, the responsiveness to concerns/questions from the owner and workers as well as a fair price for great work, then there would be no need for Angie's List. From the estimate to completion, we were more than pleased with the process. The owner, Danny, is very detailed-oriented which drew my husband and I in from the beginning. His measurements of the house, the break-down of costs and timeliness on arrival to the estimate were a huge selling point. Once we started the job, the workers were very professional, courteous and they cleaned up after themselves every day. Turning our decrepit house into something worth looking at just from a fresh coat of well put on paint, made us very happy. We would highly recommend Danny and his crew to anyone looking for a painting job. The only drawback we had was the wait time to get the project started but it worked out better for us as we also were having our stucco re-done. But, I would recommend waiting as long as needed to get Danny and his crew in to do your house as we are more than pleased!

Owner showed up when scheduled for estimate, provided detailed estimate in a timely fashion. Work was scheduled at a time convenient to both of us and performed in the time estimated. Crew was very responsive to several particular needs (pets in house and elderly residents) and acted in a very professional manner. Work was excellent and clean up handled very well. We will use the company again.

.I was looking for a painter to give a fresh coat of paint to my living room and dining room (great room.) I have very high ceilings that are a challenge to paint. Dan replied to my inquiry promptly and we made arrangements to meet at my condo a few days later. He arrived promptly and had in hand copies of his license and insurance as well as paint samples - a very professional presentation. He followed up with me within a few days with the quote. I went with another contracter because of price but would welcome working with Dan in the future

This is the most wonderful company. I love the owner Danny, his wife and his crew. My house has never looked better, ever. He did a lot of work. All work was completed carefully, the crew stayed all day every day and cleaned up every day. If there were any questions, they asked me first, I was involved in every decision and step. In addition I needed stucco repair in two locations that was done carefully and perfectly. Danny checked in with me every morning and monitored the progress. There were no surprises and plants and property were protected from any damage. This painting crew were as careful on the last day as they were on the first. They didn't rush or cut corners on anything. I had minor repairs that needed to be done, and it was done promptly and cheerfully. I will never use another painter, this is the best.

From start to finish I was kept informed by Danny and his crew. They were on time and cleaned up daily. While the estimate was not the lowest it was detailed and well done. I was most impressed by the detailed prep work that was done. All in all a painless experience and I would certainly utilize One Way again and not hesitate to recommend.

we began our project early on 8/15/11. The crew of 3 were professionally dressed and set to work doing meticulous preparation with hand and electric sanding and hand scrapping. We live near the beach and had not painted for several years. It took a full two days of preparation. Painting was done by careful brushwork, two coats of top quality paint after some priming. A special paint was used for the railings and gates which took nearly a week to completely dry, but resulted in a very hard finish. As this special paint dried it caused some of the adherent previous paint to lift up and migrate to the surface resulting in the need to resand and coat again. This was completed today and the result is great. Top quality work and personel, top quality paints, and top quality service. I will definitely use this company for my future painting needs.

Danny consulted on the colors and made a couple of really good suggestions--he has an excellent eye for color and design, as advertised. He developed a very thorough estimate, including a detailed description of the work to be performed. Given the complexity of the color scheme, we were very pleased with how well he instructed the crew. There weren't any mistakes with the colors. His crew worked really hard and was cheerful and careful. The quality of the painting is top-notch, and they did an excellent job of cleaning up. In fact, they did all of the furniture moving (and moving back), protected all of the furniture, carpets, etc., with tarps, etc. Having your house interior painted while you are living in it is going to be a trying experience, but Danny's crew made it go remarkably smoothly. Danny walked the house at the end in order to make sure everything was right, and he fixed up a couple of things. One-Way Paint and Design is a company I would recommend for any of your pain (and design) needs.

I called One Way Paint based on the reviews I read on Angieslist and the 10% discount he offered to list members. When I called Danny Tron called me back right way and we set up an appointment. He arrived promptly and was very professional, providing me with a detailed estimate of the work he would do and the materials he would use. He also made a list of the repairs necessary before his crew could start working ( a couple of window casements needed to be replaced ). His crew arrived on time on the day we had scheduled for the work to begin. They did a very professional job cleaning up each evening before they left. When they were preping the garage they discovered that another window casement needed replacement. Danny called to ask what I wanted to do. He said his crew could replace the window. His price for that additional work was reasonable so I had them do it. During the work Danny checked in regularly with his crew. The work was completed on time and the quality was excellent. I recommend One Way Paint to anyone needing to hire a painter (interior or exterior).

i got about 5 other written quotes from angie's & danny's price was in the middle. Decided to go with him since his communication was prompt, clear, and seemed to understand design principles & how that was important to me, being an artist/designer. Danny pointed out some architectural details that can be enhanced using color, which i didn't even realize. I was able to make a 3-color choice, which is what i wanted. He even thought my decrepit shed/garage was...'charming!' I thought he was kidding but he wasn't. This house turned out to be THE 'sanding project'. Took almost a week of sanding/prep. When the job kept going on longer & longer, I realized he had underestimated the time it would take. But Cesar & his crew were committed to the end, to get the job done the right way. They even had to deal w a surly, a-hole of a neighbor who disrupted their progress at one point. Danny's crew are true professionals who won't skimp on details to quickly move on to the next job. They fixed whatever exterior problems that were discovered along the way. I know he didn't make as much $$ from this job as a result of this, and I so appreciate what the guys did for my house. Carlos, one of the crew guys, came back out to make last few touch ups, and he covered the long list i had for him. I can truly say that i've been fixing this house for the past 7 years and can rarely recommend a contractor to a friend. Well, now i've got one!

I contacted Daniel R. Tron (owner) and one other painter. The One-Way Paint and Design quote was almost identical to the other company's quote. I was impressed by the thoroughness of the quote--it laid out in detail everything that would be done. [NOTE: The other company refused to give me a written quote, in spite of my pointing out that I would not hire them without it. I don't know if this is unusual, but I found it unprofessional. Mr. Tron was completely professional throughout the process.] We walked through the property with the quote, making sure that everything I wanted done was covered in the quote. The crew of men that came to the property was equally professional, a reflection, I believe, of Mr. Tron's standards. They did an excellent job of preparing the site for painting, executing the painting itself, and cleaning up afterward.
