The transaction started out fine. I chose my flooring and we scheduled the installation. Lowe's arrived when they said they would and began removing my existing wood flooring. Upon removal of the flooring, the installers noticed some legacy tile in the entry way of my home that was not level with the slab. They informed me that the new flooring would not lay flat unless they ground the entry way tile down to the level of the slab. The installers said grinding the tile would produce some dust so they would need to put up some dust barriers. I said okay and they proceeded. I was working in another room with the door closed as the Lowe's installation crew proceeded. Suddenly a cloud of dust rushed from underneath the small opening of the closed door of the room I was working in, filling the room to the point where I could not see, could not breathe and covering everything including powered-on computers and printers in the room with tile dust. I rushed out in order to get some air only to find the Lowe's installers continuing to grind the tile in spite of the fact that the flimsy painter's plastic and quot;barriersand quot; they had erected had both failed; tile particulate dust had covered everything in sight. My entire house, every room, every closet, all electronics, my clothes, even the screens on the open windows were covered with tile particulate dust. The Lowe's guys and I shared and quot;some wordsand quot; over this nightmare and I was told I should be happy about this because normally they charge extra ($250) if they have to grind tile. My house and all its contents were trashed. I called Lowe's, explained the situation, and they agreed to come and view the damage. Not wishing to wait for Lowe's to decide when my house might be livable again, I called a smoke remediation firm to assess the damage. I made sure a Lowe's person also joined at the same time. The Lowe's person saw my house was covered in dust (even the heating/AC ducts) and told the remediation company to go ahead and start the cleaning, which commenced the next day. In addition to cleaning my house, I had to have bedding and clothes dry cleaned, laundered and a major piece of electronics which was powered on during the incident, succumbed to the dust. I explained to Lowe's that I would need to have some of my dry cleaning and the repair of the electronics reimbursed; they asked me to provide them with receipts which I did. All of the above occurred almost five months ago. As of this writing in September, Lowe's has yet to pay the cleaning firm nor reimburse me for the partial damages I have submitted. I say partial because I cannot put a price on the inconvenience and stress that this episode caused. Despite numerous emails and phone calls to Lowe's, they have yet to pay for any of this damage. One last point: Not only did Lowe's trash my house and contents, the Lowe's installers who insisted the tile needed to be ground, overdid it and the new floor that was installed had a major flex in it right where they did the grinding. The Lowe's installers had to come back out, remove some of the new floor, add plaster to the ground tile area and replace the floor.
Description of Work: Lowe's was contracted to remove the existing flooring and provide and install new flooring throughout my home (with the exception of the kitchen).

I was redoing my bathroom. I went to Home Depot, but didn't like the selection. I went to a few other places, but it was a lot more expensive. I ended up going to Lowe's and picked up a bathroom vanity, safety bars, towel racks, toilet paper holder and a host of other items. They were pretty helpful in answering my questions about vanities. Actually, I had to take the first one back because it had a crack. The new one has a little crack too, but it is not in an easily seen place. The fixtures, bars and racks all look good. I thought Home Depot would have a similar selection, but I was surprised that Lowe's had a lot more to select from. Overall, I am pleased with my purchases and would shop there again
Description of Work: purchased bathroom accessories and fixtures
