Albert Nahman Plumbing, Heating, and Cooling

The first week of December we came home to a cold house. The thermostat was working, we could hear the furnace come on but no heat. We contacted Gas and Electric thinking the pilot had gone out. The technician came out and checked the furnace and the pilot was fine but the HSI had burnt out. He explained this part has about a 5 year lifespan. He let us know the part was roughly $25 to $50 and it would take about 15 minutes to change out - a very easy DIY job. We decided to have an HVAC technician come out as the furnace had not been serviced in a couple of years. We called around to a couple of places from the list and the quickest appointment was with Albert Nahman Heating and Plumbing. The tech was prompt and professional. He asked where the furnace was located and we explained it was under the house and due to the recent rains it was a little damp under there. We explained that while we had a sump pump it was a little muddy in the entryway. He said no problem and grabbed a shovel and cleared the mud away and then went to work on the furnace.. He tested the furnace to make sure it really was just the HSI. He replaced the part and had us test the furnace turning on and off the thermostat a couple of times while he was there to make sure everything was working properly. He did let us know that it would be a good idea to schedule a complete cleaning of the furnace and ducts. He showed us the dust etc that was collecting and explained how that will shorten the lifespan of the parts. The tech was fantastic. The only downside was the pricing. The $50 part was $325. If you are someone who is not good at DIY/ doesn't relish going into crawl spaces or under the house and needs a technician who will explain how everything works and what they need to do as well as what they recommend for future maintenance, then Albert Nahman Heating and Plumbing is reliable.

Quote was 700.00 over the other two vendors formally quoted. Quote was late a day due to a typo'ed email address. The vendor actually selected did an excellent job.

We realized our hot water wasn't working the morning before we went out of town for 5 days. I called Albert Nahman plumbing to make an appointment for the day we returned. Making the appointment went very smoothly -- and even when our flight was delayed 2 hours, so that I would miss the first hour of our 2-4 appointment window, they were very nice and assured me they would take care of me so that I could have hot water. Otis, the technician, was incredibly friendly and helpful. It turns out that the hot water was working when we arrived back home -- so there wasn't anything to do. He checked the hot water heater and faucets where the issue was, explained what it could have been and spent some time educating us on the faucets in our new home. I really appreciate the education -- and he explained it in a way that laypeople understand. If I ever have issues again, I will definitely be calling Albert Nahman.

Originally used Albert Nahman plumbing to do a Diamond Club Inspection which I had purchased from Angies List and which was done on 6/14/2012 where at that inspection a thorough checking of my plumbing was done and in particular my bath tub drain which had always had a drain problem. I was given an estimate for this and I decided to have it done by Albert Nahman on 8/20/12. With being a Diamond Club member, my job was given priority over others, as I was told. The two plumbers had scheduled to be there later in the day but called earlier and asked if it was okay to start earlier. Great. Upon arriving I showed them the tub and how I had tried to remove the overflow valve myself but couldn't do it. The lead plumber told me that to remove it required going under the house and removing the plumbing there. I realized then that I called the right people. I had gone on line and tried to follow the directions given but as typical some jobs are better left to the professionals and in this case I got the right professionals. The lead plumber went under the house while the other junior plumber did removal from inside the tub. The job went very fast and when I went in to my bathroom to check on the progress, the junior plumber said they were done. However upon my inspection, I noted the cap for where the old overflow drain use to be was not put on and the old one was still there. The junior plumber stated the part I had did not fit. I went back out to get my checkbook to pay for the job and when I returned to the bathroom I found that my new cap was placed over where the old over flow drain just as I thought it should. I inquired to the senior plumber how did he get it on and he said he had just come up from under the house and saw that the job had not been completed by the junior plumber and simply finished it as it should be. Good that there was a senior guy who oversees the whole job. No mess was left behind, everything was checked and the drain finally works great. At first I thought the price was a bit high but considering what it would take for me to do the job even if I could, the price now seems fair. I would definitely use Albert Nahman for my plumbing services again.

Tony replaced my old water heater with a new one, and in the process found a termite nest, along with some termites crawling up the wall. He cleaned it all out and had his assistant buy some spray to kill the ones that were left. This was at no extra charge to me. I found him to be thoughtful, courteous, knowledgable, and he did a great job. When he left, he made sure everything was cleaned up. I've used this company before on a complicated plumbing job, and had a similar experience. I would definitely use them again.

The technician was very nice and helpful. He provided some suggestions on what to ask the other technician for reinstallation of the repaired dryer. I would definitely call them again if necessary but i would probably do this on my own the next time and save some money.

Marlon arrived on time. We walked through what needed to be fixed. He made the repairs and showed me what I could do if the problems started to resurface. He was efficient, professional and well represented his employer.

The company called and set appt that was convenient for me. Otis arrived on time and was courteous and professional . I showed all the troubled plumbing he explained what he thought might be the problem and got his tools from the truck and proceeded to fix the problems. He was efficient and knew his job. Otis did a great job!

$200 or so to replace a p-trap is insane. The previous service was to replace the valve inside the toilet tank, a part that costs about $10 and takes 10 minutes to replace. They charged $238. I have been doing business with them for years and every time I kick myself over the cost. They have a discount program that is complicated and may save me some money in the future but if I have any non urgent work I will definitely try someone else.

Both services were performed with professionalism, the technicians were knowledgeable, answered all questions and explained how the new systems worked and how best to use them.

They charged extra for parts--duplicated AL price for two water heaters in same location. Wasn't too happy with either of these facts.

Technician was on time, explained everything, replaced leaky hose/connector quickly, no mess, took a coupon from Angie's list. Company had also been recommended by friends. I would pass along the recommendation too.

These old (1930s) plumbing fixtures and their parts do not match current standardized plumbing components, therefore making the older installations more problematic to work on. It's not just a matter of "swap out a standard sized part". The plumber has to match older 7/8 " fittings to modern 1/2 " connectors, deal with non-standard pop-up basin stoppers, etc. Willaim and Sal scoped everything out, got the parts they needed, put everything back together, tested for leaks (there were none), mounted and recaulked the pedestal fixture, and did a great job of cleanup. A professional, class act all the way. And...they were friendly, personable, and quick! I've used Albert Nahman Plumbing before; they've installed a tankless water heater for me, repiped most of the house, and done lots of smaller maintenance jobs over the last few years. Always conscientious, quality work, and always reasonably priced.

They did a fantastic job and were clever about it (can't see ugly parts from outside of house). They took 2 Angie's list coupons!

I called Alfred Nahman Plumbing to replace an old water heater. The estimator came out at the time he had promised and gave me an estimate for the work. We scheduled an appointment for the end of the week. The two plumbers showed up, on time, and installed a water heater. Unfortunately, I did not notice until a couple of days later that the wrong size heater had been installed. I had requested a 50-gallon tank but a 40-gallon tank was installed. I called ANP about the mistake. They apologized for the error and a new, replacement 50-gallon tank was installed. On both occasions, the work crews were efficient, fast and courteous. They spent as much time as I needed to explain the workings of the new energy efficient water heaters. Mario, Nathan and Sal were great to work with. In spite of the minor glitch, the experience was painless. I would recommend ANP without hesitation.

The entire experience was excellent from beginning to end. Gabrielle came over to do the initial estimate for the work. We knew immediately that we were in good hands by his knowledge and professionalism. Fernando and Orlando did the work, along with some other crew members. Again- great experience. Prompt, hard working, polite, left the area very clean. Their pricing was very fair (we shopped around!) We will hire them again to assist with our kitchen remodel.

Someone was scheduled to arrive between 2 - 4 PM and Wilber was there at 2:05 PM. He was courteous and made sure the job was done to our satisfaction. I will definitely use this company again and will be sure to ask for Wilber - you should too!

The person came in and checked out all the plumbing. She gave her estimates of what it would take to fix the problems.

The drain cleaning had to be handled long distance which presented some challenges, but the staff at Albert Nahman were most cooperative in meeting our schedule. They were always polite and helpful when we had to reschedule our appointment several times.

.After a couple of crossed wires the new items were ordered and installed. There was one small problem with the tank on one of the toilets but they came out with a new tank the next day and all is well
