+ 0 moreDoobek Builders is the best construction company in LA!!! We recently added an upstairs master bedroom and expanded/remodeled our kitchen completely. Our project manager Joseph was fantastic from start to finish. He answered all of our questions, gave helpful suggestions, fixed issues with no questions asked along the way. He came in on budget and under the timeframe he originally quoted. Our foreman Fabian was amazing as well. His crew was top notch, hard working, and kept the construction site clean throughout the whole process. The quality of the work was pristine and the final product was exactly what we wanted. I can't say enough good things about Doobek, Joseph and Fabian. I would refer and have referred them to anyone who is looking for the best contractors in Los Angeles!
Description of Work: Built second story Master Bedroom bathroom with walk in closet. Expanded and remodeled kitchen completely.

+ 0 moreOur project manager, Joseph, and the leader of the construction crew, Felipe, were top notch and very easy to deal with. They were very professional and did an excellent job with the construction. The crew was at our house on time every day and often worked on Saturdays to meet deadlines for inspection. Any problems that came up were addressed immediately by the team and the entire project was completed on budget and ahead of schedule. We are incredibly happy with the way the project came out. We would highly recommend Doobek for any home renovation or addition projects.
Description of Work: My wife and I hired Doobek to complete a complete a master suite renovation / addition for our house. This involved: Demolition of existing bathroom / closet and exterior wall Foundation and framing for 170 sf addition, expanded bathroom, and new walk-in closet Moving plumbing for a new vanity, walk-in shower, and toilet Tiling for shower stall and floor Drywall and flooring installation throughout the master suite, including matching of the existing floor stain All new electrical for the bathroom, closet, and bedroom Finishing touches - painting of all rooms, baseboards, lighting fixtures, etc.

I am very detailed oriented and the finish product of our home exceeded my expectations, an updated, modern, functional Spanish style home! Aviv was very attentive, responsive, answered all questions, and dealt with all my concerns in a rapid, professional manner. I would definitely recommend Doobek and Aviv and would hire them again for future projects. I have already recommended them to 2 of my friends. Honest, efficient, qualtiy producing contractors are hard to come by and Doobek is definitely a gem!

+ -1 moreThe owner says he was not able to adequately review the plans with a pdf, so be sure they have a hard copy. I had offered one to Joseph with his original bid, but he thought he had everything he needed.
Description of Work: We are planning a home addition/remodel and have plans approved from the city and are ready to start work. We emailed doobek our plans, and Joseph came out to give us a bid. He was really prepared having looked at our plans, and impressed us. We gathered other bids, and after emailing back and forth decided to go with doobek. Joseph came by with our contract and we discussed the plans in more detail and planned on starting construction the next week. We signed the contract, gave him the original set of plans, and let the other contractors know we would not be using them. The next day I get a call from Joseph saying that his estimate had been wrong and they wouldn't be able to do the job for the price in the contract. They wanted an extra $10,000. He had not reviewed the plans carefully before preparing the contract. We did not agree to the higher price, so the owner came the next day and returned our plans, and checks. They apologized, but now we are left without a contractor.

Description of Work: At this point, I must say Joseph came out to price a room addition- For me it is on the high end of what I can afford. He was punctual, very pleasant, explained a lot which I certainly appreciated for his time. If we do end up using this company, I have a very good feeling about it. Unless I get a bid for a lot less, from another company that also has excellent reviews, I would feel very comfortable using Joseph---a very likeable guy.

They are on budget, their crews show up every day on time and Mike and Joseph the project manager have been responsive to all our questions and concerns. We strongly recommend that you consider Doobek for your remodeling project!
Description of Work: Demolish and rebuilt garage in new location. Added master bathroom with high end finishes, and enlarged master bedroom. Demolished existing living area and rebuilt adding square footage and Fleetwood Sliding glass doors. Upgraded and moved electric panel, added central air and heat, and tankless water heater.

+ 0 moreIt wasn't easy to pick a contractor, so happy I made the right choice to go with Doobek Inc. Mike the owner was always on top of everything. The workers always cleaned before they left. It is not easy to live in a house when construction is going on, but must say they ran the project so well so we could still be comfortable.

+ -1 moreNever received a written quote. Within a few minutes of his arrival he was quoting a price that I knew was extremely high. After 3 weeks went by I sent him an email stating I would not consider him if I did not receive a quote by end of next business day. I received no reply. In late May I received a phone call from him. At this time I found out that he had a family emergency and was out of the country for several weeks. I may give him another chance should I have another project down the road. Based on our conversation, I have revised my initial review.
Description of Work: Requested estimate for room addition. He arrived on time but seemed to be in a hurry to leave. He took my design pack/notes and stated he would try to get me the estimate via email in the next day or so.

+ -1 moreWe hired Mike to build a 1,200 sq ft addition / extension. Mike and his crew were always professional and polite. Mike is a very punctual person which was very important for me and made things go smoothly, when he promised something at a certain time it was done accordingly. I tried not to get in the crew's way too often but whenever I did, Mike wasn't a hard man to get a hold of and went the extra mile to make himself available for us. To sum up, I'm glad we choose him, and as for the addition, it was worth every penny.
Description of Work: 1200 sq ft addition plus a few fixes around the house.
