The first thing I did was put water and soap in the sink, find a cloth, and wipe all the cupboard shelves so I could put stuff into them as we had to unpack our RV. I spilled a bit of water, bent down and wiped the floor where it spilled and the cloth was brown with dirt from the kitchen floor! When I was wiping, I looked at the bottom of the stove - on the floorI could see gobs of dust bunnies and the filthy floor under the stove! I was really getting furious by this time. The glass on the oven door had hard little brown grease spots still on it. I took a green scrubby and in less than 2 minutes had one half of the glass sparkling clean - I left half so I could show them that it could be done and quite easily! The kitchen taps had crusty build up on them, the shower wall showed soap scum, as did the shower doors. I paid $200 for THIS? I phoned and left a message at Yuma Cleaning and the next day I had a return call. The woman to whom I spoke was very off hand, insisted they'd cleaned everything. When I mentioned the dust on the shelves and the dirty floor she told me that it's very dusty in Yuma and it had been a week or so since they'd cleaned so perhaps that's what happened. I informed her that SOME of the shelves were clean so how could 'dusty Yuma' just get dirt on some of the shelves and not others. I asked for a refund of some of my money and was told absolutely no refund. She offered to send someone to do the part I was not satisfied with and I agreed to that. While I was on the phone to her, I noticed one of the little horizontal boards that cover joins in the wallboard and it was filthy on its ledge - I told her about it right then, saying I didn't see how walls could have been washed and still have this filthy board. In addition, I had wiped the tops of all the window and door casings with a wet cloth - it came away black from dirt. Again, how could the walls have been washed and yet not the tops of the casings? She continued to insist they had done everything they'd said they would and then tried to blame the park manager because she'd come over and signed off on the job. I informed Yuma Cleaning that I in no way held the park manager responsible - she didn't live in the unit, hadn't been the one to pay for the cleaning and had just handled the hiring as a favor to us. The next day two cleaners arrived to clean the shower and stove - I had cleaned everything else by then in order for us to move in. I also had them re-do the bathroom floor - the corners had dirt build up in them that had been left. They were very personable and, according to the woman at Yuma Cleaning to whom I spoke on the phone, were not the same women who did the initial cleaning. The next day I happened to look down the side of the stove and I could see dust clinging to it - I pulled out the stove and it hadn't been touched. It was disgustingly filthy - just the little bit of floor on each side that you could get a cloth into was cleaned.
Description of Work: The request was 'top to bottom cleaning' of our 12 x 34 park model prior to our moving in. The park model had virtually no furniture in it - just 2 swivel rockers in the living room. We are Canadian and were not in Yuma at the time but had the park manager hire cleaners. (We had just purchased a used park model (new to us) after ours was wrecked in the storm at the end of August.) They were told 'top to bottom' meant walls, windows, everything but NOT the carpet - we hired a carpet cleaning company for that. The fridge was cleaned to my satisfaction but that is the only thing I can say I was satisfied with. When I initially found out the cost was $200 for a small park model that did NOT include carpet cleaning, I was shocked - that's a lot of money to clean and very small unit. But I thought, oh well, at least it will be done. When we arrived in Yuma October 15th we entered our 'new' park model expecting to find it cleaned from 'top to bottom'. I first opened the fridge and it looked fine. Next I opened a cupboard above the fridge and ran my hand over the shelf - it was thick with dust! I tried a couple of other shelves, they were fine - then another couple - thick with dust.
