Sunguard Custom Painting

Very responsive when I called to get estimate, emailed me quote right away, showed up to do work within 5 days. Crew was very efficient, neat, respectful, and hard-working. Price for work was reasonable. They finished the job exactly when they predicted. Couldn't have asked for a better experience. Would definitely hire again.

They had an ad in Angie’s list for a special they were doing. It is a family owned business. I was really impressed with them. They did a really good job. The owner’s name was George. What stands out about them is that they were prompt. They were good at responding to any correspondence or any questions I had. They were prompt about that. They showed up when they said they were going to show up. They started their job. We had weather problems so they have to kind of not do something for a couple of days, but the minute that ended and it was safe to start painting, they were right back on the job. They were pretty good about their clean up, and everything was really good. It was a really good price too.

I was very pleased with the quick service we received, from start to finish. The entire job was done in 2 days, but probably sooner, since it was quite windy one day, so no painting that day. I am pleased with how my home looks, since it has been 16 years and have not had it painted, it looks like a different house. I would recommend Sungard and hope to use them to paint the interior of my home as well.

It turned out really great. We had no problems. They were very good. They were awesome. I kind of gave them a timeline and they called that they were going to be out tomorrow and they came over and walked the property with me. It ended up being more but it was a big house, a two-story. They were very nice, reliable, polite and clean. They left the place clean. They called to make sure everything was okay they day before it was completed. They called the day after to make sure everything was okay. I would give them a high rating.

This company painted the house next door to me. Some days later, George was at that house, saw me outside and approached me about also painting my house. I was favorably impressed with what he had done next door, and was also favorably impressed with the price he quoted me for my house. He brought color samples and offered to get small samples of my colors and do patches on the house so we could see what they would look like. After seeing our original selections, we decided to change the trim color and this was no problem at all for George and his crew. They showed up on time to do the painting and accommodated my having to be in and out of the house during the day for an appointment. This was important because they cover and seal all doors and windows. They repaired all cracks, chips, or dents in the existing stucco and around all windows and doors. They completed the job in less than one day. They cleaned up after themselves and left no debris anywhere in the yard. I would hire this company again in the future. They also do interior painting. In fact, I did recommend them to a friend in our community, and they, too, were very satisfied with the work of this company. This company uses acrylic paint which does not rub off like most stucco paint. It is eco-friendly and looks great as well.

These guys totally ROCK! Of course it rained on the weekend we planned to get everything done, but even so, they completed the power washing on Saturday, then the whole crew showed up promplty on Tuesday morning. I'm not sure what happened in the meantime, but by the time I returned home from work on Tuesday evening the job was completed,and I had a BEAUTIFUL NEW HOUSE!!! This was not a simple job either! My house is 2 story, and we went with 3 colors. They painted everything, including all the trim, my garage door, and my front and side gates!!! I've always wanted to have the best house on the block, and now I have the best house in the whole neighborhood! Thanks, George! Thanks, Hughie! Thanks, Alex!!

Team did a great job! Well-supervised and managed. Good attention to detail. Went above and beyond the call of duty to re-do a bad stucco job on our wall between houses. Family owned business, and even Grand-Dad showed up to be sure all went well! They did leave a few scraps of masking tape behind, but I would surely use them again!!

Sungaurd did a fantastic job. We bought the deal on Saturday, had a bid on Monday, and the job was complete on Friday. Walter was very professional, made sure the prep was done properly and used high quality paint. The painters were great, went back after to make sure coverage was good and at our request painted new light fixtures out of the box at no charge. After a full days work one of the painters came over as I was trying to figure out how to install the new light fixture and took it out of my hands and installed it for me. It's been a month and we have not found any overspray or touch-ups needed. We are thrilled with the paint job and our neighbors are all very impressed.

The guys from Sunguard where great. They showed up on time for the estimate, scheduled the power wash and again showed up on time. The paint crew showed up a few days later and did a great job with the masking and the overall paint job. It was what I had expected. We asked for 3 colors to be used and they did not make a big deal about or requests. I give them a "need to use" if you need your house painted.

Had some touch ups to do but performed them as required. Will use them again.

We are very pleased with the work performed by Sunguard. They delivered what they promised in a very professional, friendly, responsive and ethical manner. We obtained competitive bids from a total of four companies. Besides price, what sold us was that Sunguard is licensed, bonded and recommended by Angie's List. They arrived on time. They began the job with a pressure washing of the exterior of the house followed by scraping and caulking areas that needed it. They pulled back the gravel by the stem wall then covered all the windows with plastic before spray painting the walls. After painting, they cleaned up after themselves.

I'm happy! Walter and his crew, including his brother in law and father, really delivered. My house hadn't been painted since 1987 when it was built, and there was lots of repair work to be done. These guys powered washed everything, scraped off old flaking paint/stucco and then repaired it meticulously. Even the hot water tank door, that was virtually falling off its hinges and the frame was almost completely destroyed - they fixed it up with nails and bondo and caulking to make it near new. The columns in the back patio were blistered and flaking and rusty - they smoothed and painted to a glossy shine. They went over the surfaces several times to make sure all the cracks were filled in. All the windows etc were taped and there is very little spray over - just on the grass. The best part - they responded to my follow up call that very same afternoon: I've done enough projects to know that the project can look perfect before you pack it in and when you get up the next day you see your mistakes and spots missed. I saw a few minor things, called Walter and he was gracious and responsive and had everything fixed perfectly that afternoon. I have but one pet peeve: they smoke and I found a couple of cigarette butts. But I won't dock the rating for that; seems too many trades people smoke and I admit I'm super sensitive. All and all, this family is a delight to work with, the workmanship is very professional and the value was a nice surprise.

Walter was very professional and always answered my calls I never had to leave a message. I was out of town when my house was painted and came home to a beautiful painted home. I was blown away on how beautiful my home looks with not a bit of paint out of place. I would strongly recommend Walter for the professionalism and timely manner in which my home was completed.

My house was overdue to be painted, with some areas that were starting to peel and wood trim that was in bad shape. (It is a block house with wood trim, plus I have a roof deck.) I got bids from 4 different contractors, and Sunguard was the lowest. (Two of the bids were for almost twice as much.) I read the very favorable reviews of Sunguard on Angie's List, so I decided to select them. Walt (the owner) was flexible about scheduling the work and did not require any payment until the work was done. I had a three-man crew headed by Juan who did the job, and they showed up early every day and worked diligently until it was almost dark at the end of the day. The job was completed in just over three days. I am very pleased with how my house looks, and have gotten compliments from several neighbors.

Young Walter the estimator was very personable and promised to take care of several details that were not completed satisfactorily Older Walter was not happy when these details were brought to his attention prior to final payment and we settled for most of these details not being corrected. The crew was generally good., but the taping of the windows did not prevent the overspary on the windows and trim that we had to cleanup afterwards,

I received a ?Big Deal? email from Angie?s list for house painting. I looked at the price and $1700 (up to 2000 sq ft) seemed like a good deal. I called my father who is a professional handy man and has been for the past 40 years and he said the price was right for the amount of work (painting the bump outs around the windows, the trim, gables, posts, etc). I used Angie?s list internal emailing to coordinate with Walter to meet out at the house (it?s going to be a rental property). I worked during the week so he met us on the Saturday morning after I purchased the big deal. Talk about fast service. We walked around the house and discussed all the little details that go into painting the house. My house was stucco?ed a month ago and would need to be primmered. He said that would require 2 coats of a special primer just for stucco and would add $500 to the total. Even adding the additional $500 to the bill, it seemed like a good deal. His team was there the next week after my father prepped the nail holes, tin, and a few other tweaks to get the house reading for painting. They were in and out in a single day and didn?t leave a mess in my yard after washing out their painting equipment. My father was on site while they painted and made sure they didn?t miss anything. My only comment is that I think the painting team could have paid a little more attention to detail. For example, it had rained earlier and mud had splashed on the bottom of the stucco where the rain ran off the roof. They were going to paint right over the mud until my father pointed out that the mud should be cleaned off first.

This project started with an Angie's deal ($1699 for 2000 sq. ft.) The owner's son contacted us and set up a time to complete the scope of work. He determined our 2149 sq. ft. home would require more work. He walked with us around the house to point out things that needed attention. The week before they were to paint, he came by and finalized a time with an estimate of 3 to 4 days to complete. When the painters (2 guys) arrived on Monday, they quickly taped and prepped the house and started painting the next day. The painters were extraordinarily professional in their work, worked efficiently, and completed the house in the late afternoon on Tuesday. When it came to pay, I told the owner I wasn't sure about the final price. It was $3600. This was close to my original budget, and I was glad to pay the $1900. A couple of weeks after completion, my wife noted an area that needed additional paint. The owner came out the next day, repainted the section himself, and cleaned up. The house looks great, and we have gotten a lot of compliments.

Walter @ Sunguard said he would come by "about one-ish PM to look at job". Arrived after 2:30 PM. Said he was more interested in a newer house w/stucco exterior. My house, 60+ years & brick, required too much extra work and would get back to me with a re-worked estimate. Provider sent Angie's List message regarding his inability to perform the job. Told him I would, of course, cancel the job and request a credit. Feel free to contact provider regarding this.

Very professional crew and prompt. Color choice and texture suggested by the owner was great! I had my own ideas and color samples when I met with him and he made recommendations over that based on his experience. With 2 covered patios and extra space that needed to be covered, this was a great purchase and I would highly recommend their service.
