Sunguard Custom Painting

Sunguard Custom Painting is excellent!!! This is the second time we have hired them. Last year they painted our entire territorial style house repairing the tops of the parapet walls, exterior property walls, living room and 2 story stairwell. We loved them so much we had them come back to do more. Our neighbors were so impressed with their work they hired them to paint their entire house as well. The 2 Walters, father and son, are professional, timely, extremely well priced, efficient and a joy to work with. They have consistently gone above and beyond our expectations. Their crew is prompt, courteous and very efficient! Amazingly, if they see areas that need a little touch up they will just go ahead and do it even if it wasn't on the original work order and it doesn't show up on your bill. Can't say enough good things about this company.

It is seldom that I rave about services rendered. I'm about to rave now! It all began with an immediate response to my inquiry of what geographical area they service. Not only do they come way out my way, they offered to come out the next day to give an estimate. This is family owned business so Walter and his son Bruce came out. I can only say that Bruce is quite a sales person. He offered the exact service that I needed. We negotiated the contract price and they were ready to begin. In less than a week they appeared ready to do the job. The on site service was overwhelming. They had crews that worked quickly and professionally. In the past we've had crews that leave early saying "there's somewhere else I have to be. The projects dragged on forever. Not with Sunguard. The crews worked the first day until they could see no more. And then they came back the next day at 7:30 AM. All we could say was WOW!! We saw another very professional day. All work was completed as we wanted and Hugh (Walter's other so)n walked the property with to insure I was satisfied. They cleaned up the yard anything ship shape. I believe in family owned business. They care because it is their name on the line. While working here they exemplified why family owned business is the way to go. This is my second foray with Angies list and both times have been exemplary.

It could not have gone better. They do superior work and they help you with color selection, if needed. We used dunn-edwards paints which lasts a long time and looks very professional. They are very professional yet very personable, as well. We highly recommend them to others.

The crew was fantastic. They showed up exactly on time every day and were very respectful and kept a very clean worksite. They went way above and beyond what we had priced out but didn't charge for the many extras they did for me. Throughout the 3 days they were on-site, they would make recommendations on adding things to the job, such as repainting the 15' of metal fencing around the front of the house. They didn't charge a dime extra, and it improved the look 100%. I can't recommend these guys enough. They did a fantastic quality job. Value was A++.

They did a fantastic job repaired all stucco and painted the house. It really changes the appearance and we have had many compliments from the neighbors.

After the owners signed me on I never saw them again, just two Mexicans, one who spoke no English, and the other little. From the beginning I felt rushed. I had wanted the work done the following week but they insisted it had to be done that week. Overall, the paint job looks good except that I didn't want any on my sidewalk, and there is. My rose bushes in back are somewhat brutalized, fortunately they will be pruned next month. Most importantly, I had found my BBQ grill turned around backwards, I moved it and thought nothing of it until last night when I went to use it and it would not light. I called a repair man. It seems they disconnected it from wall and debris got in and was blocking the gas flow. This cost me $50 to repair. They also painted some brass plant hooks on my patio. When I pointed that out they just shrugged their shoulders and tried to convince me that it looked good! They only cleaned the paint off at my insistence. Maybe if the owners supervised there workers these sorts of things wouldn't happen.

Their price was very good. They don't even give you a quote; they tell you to get bids and that they would undercut all the bids. They did it in one day and I was shocked. It's a relatively big house. They did some minor touch-ups later, but it took them a little longer to come and do the touch-ups. We went back and forth quite a bit but they did eventually come and do it all. That's the only problem I have and it's relatively minor. The house looks terrific. I'm very pleased with what they did. They did everything I pointed out that I wanted done. I would recommend them to anybody.

Great Price, Great service, Great job. We spoke to them on Monday morning and they came out that same day for the quote. They were at our house at 6:30 AM the next morning and completed the job in one day. Excellent job!!

Overall, very happy with the service provided. I'd purchased an Angie's List deal for stucco repair ($300). Have a 6 yr old house (@ 2,100 sq ft), but the builder did a poor job on the stucco. In addition to the chunk of stucco we took out with our car, there were a lot of holes and damage to exterior of the home. Sunguard quoted me $3,000 for the job ($3300 including the Angie's list purchase) - that included stucco repair and paint (3 different colors and an upgraded paint that was good for sunny climates). When providing the quote, he walked the exterior of the home to show what they would be fixing, pointing out they would not step on alumawood patio and would take the extra steps to work around it. They didn't require any payment on the $3,000 quote up front - balance would be due in full after job was completed. He wanted me to be completely satisfied with the work they were doing. When it came time to pay using my credit card, he explained credit cards have a fee (of which I am aware). I'm sure all service providers prefer cash. However, no discussion as to how the balance was to be paid took place beforehand, and the paperwork signed didn't specify cash or credit. Just be sure to let them know when quoted if you plan to use a credit card so there's no question later. All of that being said, I would highly recommend this company and their crew to anyone. My parents will be needing to paint their house soon and would not hesitate to refer them to Sunguard. Spoke with the staff when they started the work - they were polite, answered my questions, and finished the job in one day. Not only did they do a great job on the paint and repairs -- they cleaned up after themselves - the place was spotless. I wouldn't hesitate to hire them again, if needed.

Super provider... finished the entire house (6,000 sq. feet, two floors) in 3 days, plus some stucco repair on the deck. They honored their first price even though it turned out to be a bigger job than they were originally thinking, and they pivoted to a different back yard fence color after assuming I wanted the body color of the house (but I really wanted the trim color). Very responsive and fair.

All the other reviewers are right. This outfit is professional, fast and priced great. I have a one-story white stucco house with tile roof and wood fascia and trim. Two boss men came out on a Friday to look at the house and discuss the job with me. They were friendly, knowledgeable, and highly focused on getting the job done promptly. We went over some extra work on "my" side of my shared CMU wall that had some pretty severe stucco deterioration, and agreed on a fair additional price for that extra work. The next day, Saturday, a small crew came, took care of the powerwashing and began the stucco repair work. Then Monday the big crew arrived (at 7 a.m. :)) and the entire job was finished by dark. They completed all the stucco patching and refinishing, expertly masked off everywhere needed to protect windows and hardware etc., and repainted as agreed. The house and wall look great. I originally decided to get the job done because of noticeable peeling and cracking paint on the wood trim, and because it had been years since its last repaint job; I hadn't realized how dull and faded the whole house looked until this was done. It looks bright and fresh. I highly recommend Suncoast, and would use them again for any painting job.

Punctual and responsive after I initially purchased $299 stucco repair service. After George and his brother (I forgot his name) but he was very knowledgeable came to the house they convinced me to apply the coupon toward a complete paint job. The house was in extremely poor condition. The wood trim was rotting and there were major cracks in the stucco. I was persuaded to get the paint job because it made sense and because the job included labor and supplies. I highly recommend Sunguard. The house is over 50 years old, but it looks brand new! They used high quality paint too. The job was completed in 2 days. The house is single story and around 1100 square feet. They also painted the car port . It really was a very high end, professional job. I am more than pleased and I highly recommend this company.

Sunguard Custom Painting did an A+++++job! Walter was right on with estimates. His prices are more than fair. It was impossible to turn away from such an incredible deal. The Sunguard crew were so nice, professional, friendly and the neatest group of painters we've ever encountered. They cleaned up everything, and even helped my husband put back outdoor furniture in its place. You could tell they are happy working for Sunguard. Quick and professional. They were thorough. The house looks great. The owner was prompt with an assessment and quote. The painters themselves also worked hard and were very meticulous. I appreciate the fact that they got the job done in a relative short amount of time. I would easily use them again and recommend them.

The crew always arrived on time and were very helpful and professional.

They where here at 7:00 or 7:30. They started at the front and work there way to the back of the house it went really smooth by the time you knew they where done. Cleaned up gave me the Extra paint and they left.

Walter and Walt Jr. came to the house to give us an appraisal. Due to the size of our house and additional work we requested, the cost was $400 higher than the advertised price on Angie's list. We agreed that my husband and I would contact them once we picked out our HOA approved color scheme and had it approved. Once the work was scheduled, the painters showed up promptly and performed the power washing and painting of the house exterior in less than 4 days. The painters were quick, responsive and neat. We are very happy with the colors and the workmanship and have recommended Sunguard to two of our neighbors.

The whole job would have only taken 3 days if we didn't get rain. The 2 man team did an amazing job at the prep work and painting of the house.

I paid $2500 for Angie's list deal. I read the reviews and was happy with the most recent experiences. During the estimate he said it will cost an EXTRA $1000, which INCLUDES the cost of the paint, which he will provide through his company discount. The last day when payment was collected, I am told my final balance is now $1600, $600 more than the $1000 upsell I was quoted in writing. I wrote a check for $1600 because they do not accept my credit card. My total cost was $4100 to paint the exterior of my 2850 sq ft house --- which doesn't feel as much of a deal as I thought it would. Neither myself, nor my husband were happy with the extra $600. I asked why the extra $600, and he said he bought more paint --- but wait, the paint is included in the $1000 upsell. ??? I wish I would've been alerted that I would incur more cost. He showed me a receipt for $600 for paint that was purchased the week before. I felt duped. The father offered me about $400 cash that he took out of his wallet. It felt like a bit of a con to me. He said we would split the difference because he wanted a good review. The entire situation seemed a bit odd. I took the $200 only because my gut told me I was taken advantage of. The coupon doesn't include paint, only labor cost, which I understood before I bought the coupon. The verbal upsell of $1000 before the work started, DID include the cost of the paint. It felt very dishonest to me. I would like to give a good review for the WORK that Sunguard did on my home: The workers were prompt, courteous. We are very happy with the paint work on the house, and the job is excellent. Great attention to detail. Walter was prompt and always returned my call immediately. They used a very good sherwin williams paint. Unfortunately because of this odd encounter of the cash exchange, and the extra $600 for paint that was supposed to be included in the $1000 upsell already, I will not be using the company again.

Walter was very good at explaining what was needed, and willing to negotiate a fair price. The workers arrived on time. Workers were very polite and friendly. Never complained about the heat. Answered many questions about the previous stucco/paint job. Very carefully covered or moved all furniture, rugs, etc., and very carefully put them back. Altogether, a great experience with this company!

I was impressed when I met Walter and his father and discussed color and how I wanted the painting to go. They really listened to me and also offered suggestions as we walked the house. Walter did an awesome job matching my color even though it was so faded out. The crew arrived and Walter introduced them. Watching them work the next couple days I can say I am truly impressed. They worked so hard and they were so meticulous about it. It isbeautiful and as a Realtor I will recommend them to clients as well as friends and neighbors. You could not find a better company than Sunguard Custom Painting to paint your home inside or out!! The owner, the crew, the quality of work can't be beat!

After agreeing to a contract, the home was power washed on a Thursday with painting scheduled to begin at 7:00AM the next day. As good as their word, the work began on Friday at 7:00AM. The crew worked quietly and effectively to accomplish their work. It looked to be a two person work crew who knew their job well. I had to answer the door once when they had to paint/open the front door and once more when they were done to inspect their work. The work was exceptional and I'm very happy with the company's work and would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone in search of a painting company.

They were great. They were very quick and they did a very, very nice job. All the lines were very straight. Overall, they were an A+.

He came out and he gave an estimate that was significantly over the price of the coupon. He wouldn't give written estimate. Instead, he insisted that I make the deal right then and there. Eventually, as I continued to talk with him, he turned his back like I wasn't even there and got into his truck and drove away.
