Sunguard Custom Painting

We contacted Walter with Sunguard Custom Painting to receive a quote for repainting the exterior of our home. Walter came out and spent a lot of time with us discussing the project. Our home had some more than minor stucco damage and had two structures, but the quote was more than fair and included all prep work, moisture block added to the paint, and repairs to the stucco and mouldings. The work was scheduled for about 6 weeks out (by my choice). In the meantime, Walter checked in with me about color choices and to update me on the schedule. When it came time to do the work, Walter and his team could not have been more professional, punctual, and thorough. The work was done with an eye for detail and the paint looks absolutely wonderful. Throughout the 3.5 day project, Walter kept in constant communication with us about their progress. We cannot more highly recommend Walter and his company for being excellent at what they do.

It went well. Two guys did an awesome job prepping, painting, and cleaning up.

Walter Johnston (owner) had his pressure wash crew come out on day 1. They totally pressure washed entire house including windows; day2 the masking crew arrived and masked off all areas that might be affected by paint i.e. windows, doors, artificial turf; day 3 painter arrived, painted entire 3,000 sq. ft. home including doors and window panes--we paid extra so he also painted back cement walls surrounding backyard; day 4 Walter and I inspected house and back walls. Perfect. We did pay an extra $300 to have our back and side walls done.

It went amazing! Anytime i hire a contractor to perform service in my place i am hesitant. But sunguard custom painting simply exceeded expectations. They were fast, courteous, and neat all of which i appreciated and needed while completing my project

They did a good job on painting the house and for that we give them high rating. But it is obvious to us now that they fast-talked us into a highly inflated price to re-seal the flat roof that had been installed about five years ago. Had we not been taken in by the "while we are up there we can do this now" spiel, we realize we should have contacted the roofer who installed the roof and let him guide our repair which may have been considerably less. Even if the original roofer would have charged us the same, the pressure to "do it today" was not appropriate or professional on the part of Sunguard. His charge of $3300 for painting seemed appropriate but the $3700 for the roof sealing was highly inflated.

I did paid $500 extra. Their customer service was fine. They can pay more attention to detail. The owner of the company was never here. They have done it quick. I would use them again.

Right from the beginning it was bad news. Them came in the beginning in June. They said they would be starting on a Monday. There were a lot of things throughout the job that needed corrections. They had paint outside the doors in the utility rooms, they moved everything back on electrical cords, they disconnected our cable and other wires and didn't plug it back in, walls were painted the wrong color, paint on the tile, and just one thing after the other. I am still finding things wrong. Touch ups are needed everywhere. The communication from the father and son to the guys actually doing the work was horrible. There were lots of overlaps throughout my home. There was paint on furniture. I have had to have them come out twice to fix the paint on the doors.

Walter and his team did a fantastic job. They were very professional and kept the area very clean. I highly recommend them and have already hired them to paint my pool deck.

It was fantastic. Probably to ask up front for them to a little more communicative. Probably their communication skills and when he came he said a lot of things I don't feel like really mattered in the end.

Sunguard's owner, Walter Johnston was very polite, punctual and extremely professional. He took special care to point out repair work that his worker were going to do for me that I had missed and he made fantastic suggestions that I would have never thought of. His workers were always on time and notified me of their presence, how long they would be there and what I could expect every step along the way. Additionally they took special care to prep the area so that clean up would be easy and thorough. Every day they cleaned up after themselves and notified me what time they would be back the next day. My house is a 2 story, 3300 square foot home and they prepped it, painted it and cleaned up in 2 days. I am thoroughly pleased with this company and I have asked then to come back to do even more work, this time on the interior of my home. I absolutely would recommend them and I know that Walter and his company will take good care of your needs as well. The last thing I want to say is that Sunguard's pricing kicked the competition to the mat. I am amazed at the quality and professionalism I received from Sunguard and I know others will benefit from the work they do.

Very well! Only one miscommunication during the re-paint and it was not an issue for either party.

Received an estimate from Sunguard over a month ago to do exterior painting, agreed to it, and was told the job would start the following week. No call or show, so followed up. He said he was backlogged from all the rain, and would call next week to schedule the job. No call came. Followed up yet again, and given the same spiel. The fourth and final follow up resulted in him saying it would be at least another month before he could start the job. Not impressed; moving on to another company.

It went really well. I purchased the Angie discount on a smaller home. I had to pay $4300 total which is a decent price, nothing amazing from checking with neighbors. But Walter upgraded to premium paint and added quite a bit of a moisture guard additive to the paint. So although the price was higher than I initially expected the value was very good based on the final result and the premium paint with additives. Definitely recommend them. Great experience.

I like their professionalism and cleanliness. They are excellent. I think there was an additional charge but I think it was for an upgrading paint or something that I actually agree to it and it was well worth it. I would absolutely use them in the future.

Walter came out and gave me an estimate, and told me my house would look like new. He was right. Carlos and Vladimir did the job in under two days using premium paint. They were hard working pros and very friendly. I would use them again.

All of the employees we encountered were very friendly and professional and took strong attention to detail to ensure we were fully satisfied with the work they completed. With a Tudor Style home you have rough accent beams as part of the style of the exterior. This means plenty of wood filling, sealing and detailed accent painting. We have had the home painted 2 other times by different folks and not only was THIS job done quickly but the details were spot-on. There was a significant amount of STUFF to move away from the house and they did it all. We upgraded the paint to DE-Evershield and Walter and George made sure we had touch-up paint as well. They are eager to please and a fair price was paid.

They were great! On time, did a fantastic job even offered other services like painting the fence.

This was a great experience. We received our offer, estimate, consult and the painting job all done in a timely manner. I would recommend this company.

I explained the situation to George, and he went out of his way to take care of us. He quoted the job, had the team there the next day to power wash the house and make repairs. They painted the next day, and the house looks great. I know that quick of a turn around may not be the norm, but despite the rush, the job was done right.
