Soundwerks - Scottsdale

The experience was great.  The work was done as scheduled, it seems to have been done correctly (everything works just fine so far) and the owner and technicians were pleasant folks to deal with.  The price was quite reasonable, as well. 
The only suggestion I have is that it would have been a good thing to vacuum up the shavings left over from drilling and the stripped wire insulation.  It's really no big deal, though, and took me only a minute or two to do it myself.
I used to use another shop in Scottsdale, Signature Audio.  The shop did good work, but is very, very expensive and the owner has quite the attitude. For example, just getting a return telephone call is difficult and when you do it's like the guy is doing you a favor.

Overall it went very well.  Some of the work took longer than they expected, but they were great to deal with and the work they completed was excellent.  We also had them install a wireless Bluetooth audio system, but we weren't really happy with the sound quality so they removed it at no cost and replaced it with a wired system.  Don and his team were great and we are really pleased with the results.  Ours was a small project compared to much of what they do, but we still felt like a priority to them, and not one time did they try to up-sell us anything.  We also received good, objective advice on our options. Highly recommended.

Soundwerks did a great job. They were on time, and the install took less time than they estimated. They were very helpful and professional. I would definitely use them again.

They were not sure they could remove the disc without damaging it, but they took their time and extracted the disc and with no defects to the CD.

Showed up on time and did an excellent job on time and for the price quoted. The sound is so much better than when we had the speakers on the floor and tables! Well done and we would def use them again!

They gave me an accurate estimate and stuck to it, seamlessly installed it and hooked it up to my car's stock steering wheel controls.  Excellent service all the way.

you may have noticed, but not even the dealership wants to work on your vehicle sound sylstem.  these folks not only fixed it on the spot, in 15 minutes no less.  reasonable.

I had been noticing that the sound of my car sound system was getting distorted, especially for tones in the range of the human voice.  The system was the original factory installation and the car is 9 years old.  I wanted to improve the sound, but given the age of the car, was hoping to avoid a huge investment. 
I had guessed that the problem was the speakers,  which were probably worn out and considered (briefly) buying speakers
and replacing them myself.  I visited some big box stores and discovered that the staff has very limited knowledge about the details of car speakers and their installation.  It did become clear that putting speakers into a car door can be tricky, since you need to remove the entire panel and avoid messing up the window mechanism, etc.  One look at a How-To website for my car convinced me that it was more effort that it was worth.   In the end, at the big box stores, it would have been entirely up to me to figure out what would need to be done.  The cost was also higher than I expected, especially if the big box stores do the work.  They will simply install what you tell them, they will not try do diagnose the problem and fix it.
I decided to try Don out and I am very pleased that I did.  He is friendly, helpful and professional.  The first thing he did was to come
out to the car to listen to the system and test it to be sure that I had pinpointed the right problem.  He pointed out that I was probably correct, but also suggested that the problem could have come from other factors and that he would look at all  possibilities and check with me before making a final call.  We also agreed upon a price trigger, in case the problem looked more involved that he anticipated.
In the end, the project went exactly as he explained.  I dropped it off in the morning, they checked out the problem, it was the speakers after all, they replaced them and it was done by the afternoon.  The new ones sound great.  They did  very clean work; it is impossible for me to see that work was done on the car.  It looks just like it did when I brought it in. 
In the end, I got much more personalized service than I would have had at a big store and I saved at least $75 .   I would easily go back again and recommend them to anyone.

I've used Soundwerks in the past and was very pleased with the previous stereo and alarm systems and installation. The advice on what to get was invaluable. Soundwerks helped me pick out the perfect systems for my vehicles and my budget. There were a few problems with the most recent stereo install. It took over a month before the stereo I ordered arrived. When the install was finally done, there were quite a few scratches and blemishes on my console and the fit is now a bit loose. The stereo didn't work with the manufacturers original steering wheel controls as promised, and the iPod/iPhone cable hadn't been installed. With a stereo with no CD or cassette, it had little value without the iPod connector. Soundwerks was able to install the correct adapter. The system sounds awesome! It works great with my iPhone and allows hands free phone calls. I will probably pull the dashboard parts to touch them up or replace them since I'm very particular about the appearance of my car.

I stopped by and talked to Don due to my reluctance to have an XM Radio system installed in my car by a local "big box" retail store. After talking to Don, and his showing me the difference between what he would do and what the big box retail store would do, I was convinced that paying a tiny bit more to have it done right was the right thing to do. I dropped my car off on a Saturday. Don did what he said he would do, when he said he would do it, and at a very fair price. I love the fact that my XM Radio works with the car's existing systems, and that I don't have some plastic gadget hanging off of the dashboard of my car.

The experience was great. The owner took personal interest in the job. The workers were courteous. I plan to do my second car at Soundwerks with the same setup.
