Tony did an estimate to clean stone floors and repair my grouts, however, he inserted a fine print saying BASES NOT INCLUDED so when the crew came to do the job, guess what: they did the minimum grout repair claiming not included . At the end of the day, they wanted another 750 to do the original Job they were hired for, for which I paid 1650. Anyway, they did a great cleaning job and I liked the minimum grout repair I was able to convince they to do. Needless to say I feel deceived giving Tony should have AT A MINIMUM explained to me what grout repair I needed and he was quoting less than I what I needed. After my complaint, Robert came back and did the touch up needed on the job they performed. Although I appreciate they touching up their work, it was such a nightmare to schedule with multiple cancellations. Overall, I still feel that I was overcharged and that they wasted a lot of my time. My lesson here is get a subscription to Angies List for these types of services - the reviews add an additional layer for a better evaluation of the provider. There is a reason these guys only had one review which was negative prior to my review.

Description of Work: I paid $420 to have the grout cleaned between my tiles in the kitchen, den and front hallway. The original price was $370 and they did a good job. But when they asked me to see the finished product they showed me two small spots in the grouting where there was a settlement crack. These cracks were about 8 inches and 3 inches respectively and were east and west of the same tile. They asked me if I would like them to repair those cracks and I said yes, otherwise they would be visible and negate the work they had done that afternoon. |They quoted me $75 to do the repairs which I described as a "ripoff", especially as they were now present and did not have to come on a special visit. After some haggling I agreed to pay $50. It took the 2 man crew, Robert & Edgar, all of 15 MINUTES to do the repairs. That equates to $200 an hour for labor and the tiny amount of caulking and paint color used. I spoke to Remus, the owner, the next day and conveyed my dissatisfaction at being "HOSED" by his two guys and asked that he consider some rebate of the $50 extra charge. As of today, a week later, July 19, I have heard nothing back from him and can only conclude he has no plan to refund any of the $50. From a customer relations point of view I believe that repair should have been done when they were cleaning the grout as part of the $370 fee or, at least, brought to my attention long before the job was finished. I was present in the home the entire time they were here. |Would I recommend Grout Doctor to friends and neighbors after this experience? The answer is an emphatic "NO" but if anyone chooses to use them, make sure they check your grouting and look for any cracks that need repair "BEFORE THEY START THE WORK AND INCLUDE IT IN THE PRICE YOU HAVE AGREED TO PAY". AND TRY AND AVOID HAVING ROBERT AND EDGAR DO THE WORK!
