I found Weaver through Home Depot. I noticed Home Depot had a sale on shutters, so I asked for an estimate. Home Depot uses Weaver as their shutter supplier. I had 3 estimates from other shutter companies, but choose Weaver shutters because their estimate was in-line with the others, and they had more custom options. The salesman, Mark, who came to my house was quite knowledgeable and gave recommendations for different shutter opening options. I chose a track door for my family room so that the door would be flush against the wall and would not open into the room. When you open a track door, you get all the light from the open side, but the other side is dark and almost serves as a wall for the room; this is what I needed for my family room. I chose bi-fold doors for my kitchen so that they can open and lie flat against the wall and not block any light. And for my master bedroom, I chose the basic arcadia style. The salesperson also recommended a 4-in louver vs. a 3-in louver because when the shutters are open, there are less louvers and therefore more visibility into the backyard. I was impressed with Weaver and chose them. Because I used Home Depot, I purchased the doors at the store on Jan 16. Home Depot required 100% down; which I paid, but in hindsight should have challenged this. The salesperson at Home Depot didn't know when I would hear from Weaver or how long it took to get the shutters, but said they use Weaver all the time with no complaints. I am having a lot of work done in my house and honestly did not have the energy to dispute this lack of info. So learn from me! After I paid for the shutters, I was expecting a call from Weaver within a week - this wasn't the case. 2 weeks went by with no call; I finally called Weaver to inquire about my order. The person who answered was able to find my order and said that it was in their system, but had not been worked on yet. I asked her about the timing I could expect and she said she didn't know. I told her that I was surprised that nobody had even processed the order, especially since I paid 100% already...she said that was my arrangement with Home Depot and Weaver doesn't get paid from Home Depot until the job is complete. So, basically - her response was "whatever" and that wasn't a very satisfying answer. On Feb 7, the salesperson came back to do final measurements. By this time, I had decided to take down the existing shutters and paint my kitchen, which my plan was to get this finished by the time the shutters were installed. I said I planned to have this complete by Feb 18. The salesperson said this timing was fine and made it seem like the shutters were not yet in the process for color selection, but he said he would like to come back to see the color and ensure that the measurements for the kitchen were still the same after I took the shutters down. In my mind, I assumed that this was normal and that it really just takes A LONG time to make custom shutters. I told him that the shutters would be down by Feb 10 and he could stop by to take a look. On February 18 or 19 (a week and a half later) the salesman came back to check the final measurements again. (we are now 1 month after I paid 100% down.) Another week went by with no word from Weaver, so I called the company back again. This time I spoke with a guy named Mike who works with the installation; I asked for the status. He said that they had a note that this job was on hold for some reason and that they had not yet started to build the shutters. I told him that this REALLY surprised me because I was ready for the shutters over a month ago; my painting should not have held up the job. I asked him how long it takes to build shutters and he said it only takes about a week and a half. So I said - START BUILDING THE SHUTTERS! They scheduled a time for the install and I finally got them installed yesterday (3/11/2011). The install is a big job and it took two guys from about 8am to 4pm to finish; they did a great job, they showed up on time, they were clean, respectful of my home, and the shutters look great. I definitely recommend Weaver for quality and competitive pricing. But I don't know why I had to wait so long to get these! So here are 2 lessons to learn from me: 1) Don't use Home Depot, just go directly to Weaver; I can't imagine that you save that much using Home Depot. 2) Don't let them drag their feet. The estimate process was smooth, the install process was smooth. For some reason, the salesperson just drug his feet. Because once they got my very firm message to take the job off hold and make the d*** shutters, everything went very well! I'm happy with the quality; it just would have been great to get these installed last month!

I called for the first two windows and the staff seemed friendly and professional. They scheduled an appointment quickly (I think it was within the next week). The staff who come to measure and explain options was professional and very helpful. I did change my mind after the order was placed and wanted to use 3 1/2 inch instead of 2 1/2 inch panels. The woman I talked to on the phone said it wasn't too late to change the order, but when they were finished and installed, I realized they used the 2 1/2 inch. They also made a mistake on the second window (forgot to add the divider) so they added the divider without any hesitation. On the second set of windows (I waited about six months to save up the money) they gave me a discount because of the errors they had made on the first two windows and wanted me to be completely satisfied with the company. About six months later, I received a coupon in the mail for 10% off and had the kitchen window done. I'm very happy with the shutters and the company. Even though they made a few mistakes, they were very happy to fix the problems and were very concerned about my satisfaction with the company.

They were so good for me, they even called the day before to let me know again when they were going to be here. Then he showed up on time, the price was a little higher but I was not aware of the average until after the job was done and I started asking around. I am very happy with the work and how the shutters look so I am happy that I went with them.

Very efficient. I made a call, and Brent came out four days later. He measured, provided an estimate. I accepted the estimate a week later and mailed the deposit. Four weeks later (he had said 6-8 weeks), the shutters were delivered and installed to my satisfaction. Only negative: A young helper was reclining on my bed as he watched the installer work. He later got up and did his special task.

MARK MURPHY, THE SALESMAN, WAS EXTREMELY KNOWLEDGEABLE ON HIS PRODUCT AND HELPFUL IN ASSISTING US TO SELECT THE PROPER STYLE AND COLOR. HE WAS NOT A HIGH PRESSURE SALESMAN. THEIR PRODUCT IS SO GOOD THAT IT SOLD ITSELF. THE INSTALLATION TECHNICIANS WERE PROMPT, POLITE AND EFFICIENT. THEY PATCHED ALL HOLES FROM THE PREVIOUS BLINDS. THE EVEN DISPOSED OF OUR OLD BLINDS, ELIMINATING THE NEED FOR A BULK TRASH PICK-UP. I WILL DEFINITELY USE THIS COMPANY AGAIN.

I WAS VERY PLEASED WITH THIS COMPANY. THEY CAME OUT AND MEASURED THE WINDOW AND GAVE ME A QUOTE WITHOUT CHARGE. I ORDERED THE SHUTTERS, AND IT WAS AT A VERY BUSY TIME OF YEAR. I NEEDED THEM INSTALLED, AND THEY RUSHED THE ORDER THROUGH AND GOT THEM TO ME IN TIME.
