Description of Work: Technician arrived right on time. The bearings in the fan motor in the refrigerator section of the sub zero were shot and had to be replaced. It's a fairly labor intensive exercise to fix it, but the repair was done promptly and efficiently. I would not hesitate to use these guys again.

It was GREAT! John was spectacular. He went above and beyond with his service and his recommendations. I really enjoyed his visit and learned quite a bit about new Sub Zero/Wolf products and things to do to maintain my current machines. I am glad that I found someone to service my equipment. I had a fantastic experience, for sure!

.I had learned from Angie's List that Tri City was the only factory-authorized servicer for Sub-zero. The fridge was in a condo I purchased almost 3 years ago. The previous owner was a college student - I suspect no maintenance had ever been done. The area around the fridge was quite warm. It turns out that the freezer fan was gone, and the sealed fridge system had a leak. Since the fridge was still under partial warranty, I said to go ahead with the repairs [$1065, with the warranty!]. In the course of trying to access the sealed system, Ron broke a hose that had become very brittle, due to the excessive heat. As Murphy would have it, it broke in such a way that there was no way to repair or replace it. I don't blame Tri City for this, but rather the former owner. Ron tried a number of times to have a Sub-zero tech suggest a repair, to no avail. instead, he helped negotiate a replacement, model-for-model. Since this is a built-in, I basically had no choice but to go with Sub-zero. It turned out that the replacement, including tax, delivery, and installation, was less than half what it would have cost me, had I bought a new one from an appliance store. So, while the repair never happened, I would still recommend Tri City.
Description of Work: The serviceman was going to check on the cause of two recurring error codes in my Sub-zero refrigerator-freezer. Due to circumstances, the fridge was not repairable; the serviceman, Ron, helped me negotiate a replacement with Sub-zero.

The inspection report on the house we bought noted that there were issues with the 25 year old refrigerator. It's a 25 year old SubZero fridge and we knew the ice maker did not work and that there were temperature variances within the freezer. Tri City is the only SubZero authorized dealer in the Phoenix area so we gave them a call to come out and give us an assessment. The service call was $95. The technician, Dave, was on time, friendly and knew the refrigerator well. He diagnosed the freezer side problem - the defroster timer - right off the bat. We didn't care about the ice maker. He checked the refrigerator side and that's where the bad news came in. It suffers from age related leakage of the refrigerant and would run $2,200 to repair. Considering its age, we decided not to have that repair made. We asked how much longer the refigerator side would hold up. He was open and honest about it and estimated 6 months to a year but it could fail to properly cool sooner. We decided to go ahead and replace the timer for the freezer defroster. He replaced the timer and manually defrosted the freezer. The freezer is now working as it should and we'll be replacing the refirgerator before the fridge side starts its slide to the warm side. The $2,200 price tag for the repair may seem high but this is an expensive built-in refrigerator and did last 25 years. We'll be replacing it with one from Sears - a little more in line with our budget!

Prompt and courteous responses from this company. They came out initially to diagnois the problem with my fridge, gave it a boost of something to keep it cold (no charge for that) until a part could be ordered. They returned with the part shortly after my initial call and fixed the problem. Mike the technician was very through, laid down material to protect my floor, gave me pointers for maintaining my Sub-Zero and removing scracthes and throughly explained the work that he was doing. Mike was an excellent technician and a pleasure to deal with. Will call Tri-City Appliance for any future applicance service. My only negative is that they do not accept American Express- seems logical that a company servicing Sub-Zero and Wolf should accept AMEX.

Our Wolf oven hadn't worked right from the time we bought our home. It took a long time to heat up and took almost twice as long to cook things as it was supposed to. About a year or so ago we had a technician come look at it through our home warranty. He told us Wolf ovens were like that, so we continued to live with it for another year. We finally got fed up with it and called Wolf customer service. They suggested Tri-City Appliance so we called and scheduled a service with them. Our technician arrived on time and in fact called ahead to tell us he was on his way. When he arrived, he was very polite and professional. He went to the oven, pushed a few buttons and within seconds, yes that's right seconds, he knew exactly what the problem was. Only one half of the heating element was working and it needed to be replaced. He had the part on his truck and within no time he had the old one out and the new one in. He also took exceptional care not to damage anything in the kitchen while he was working. He was awesome and we won't call anyone else in the future. Our oven works perfectly now thanks to Tri-City Appliance.

On day of service, I was given a 30 minute window for their arrival. Two employees arrived on time, clean, and professional. They explained why the ice maker was not working and that the water valve was not working appropriately. They then replaced the ice maker and the water valve. They cleaned up everything before they left. The ice maker and valve have worked well since the repair.

Overall, excellent. Tri City had information other service companies did not - the manufacturer had changed recommended settings for their new thermostats. Extremely professional and thorough.
Description of Work: They did a complete evaluation and check of my Sub-Zero refrigerator which, with a second new cold control, was not able to maintain proper temperature.

I had already diagnosed the mechanical malfunction and was able to provide the information they needed to bring the appropriate parts. The serviceman arrived on time as scheduled and was able to complete the job quickly. He checked the system and explained what to watch for in case there had been any related damage that wasn't yet apparent. Altogether helpful and professional.

Tri-City gave me a $650 refund for the money I had spent with the other company who fixed it originally. I didn't have to pay them anything to get the work done because they did it through the sub-zero warantee. They stood behind their product and their work. They were wonderful and fixed all my problems. They were very helpful and worked with us to get the refrigerator fixed right away. They put a sheet down in the kitchen to protect the floor, and were very polite.
Description of Work: They repaired my sub-zero refrigerator. A different company had tried to fix it unsuccessfully.

"Dave" came and was exceptional. He put a tarp down to protect my floor, and unfortunately, my refrigerator needed a major repair. Dang! But Dave did great work and explained things. The good thing is the frig works again! I guess it is $8000 to buy new, so I should feel lucky it only cost $550 (I don't feel too lucky though, hate repairs!!)
Description of Work: My sub-zero refrigerator was showing a temp of 44, when the gauge was set at 34. Not good! I called and they came the same day.
