Stark Contrast Landscaping

We employed them from June 2016 to September 2016 and initially everything was okay, but starting in September, they stopped coming for the agreed upon bi-weekly service. After that we had to prompt and goad them to get them to show up each time. Finally, on January 30, they said they came and sprayed but nothing died. We tried to get them to come back but as of February 15th they hadn't so we moved on.

They are our landscaper and they have done a good job. They come out every other week. To get complete A grading, they could be more responsive. I have been using them for a couple of years.

The entire process from start to finish was excellent! I called Stark Contrast, and spoke the owner Rory letting him know my situation with the yard. His crew was out a couple days later to do an overall clean up of the front and backyard. They were very easy to work with, affordable, knowledgeable, and left my yard lookin great. I will be using them for my regular maintenance moving forward, and recommend them highly!

Rory visited my property and gave me a very reasonable estimate to do an initial clean up and landscape maintenance. His team did a great job. They were extremely thorough, very friendly and attentive to the work I wanted to perform. They trimmed trees, removed a lot of weeds, trimmed over grown bushes, checked my irrigation system (I have no clue how to operate it and Rory did a great job explaining it to me), and even took care of the cactus that had fallen over in my front yard. Now I have Rory coming on a regular basis to keep up with the maintenance and they are doing a great job.

We had an annual contract for yard maintenance with a company named F&H Landscaping with expired in April. Yardwork continued every other week and we just got a bill from a company named Stark Contrast for three month's yard work. Since we travel extensively we have not actually seen anyone here but the yard is being kept up, minimally. No one called or contacted us about a change in companies... I read about it from reviews on Angie's list. I left a voicemail for Rory Stark but no reply. I also sent him a message via Angie's list but no reply yet. If F&H is out of business than they need to be removed from Angie's List. Very poor business practice to just hand off accounts to another company without telling anyone... on BOTH companies parts. And then send an invoice from a company we never heard of with no contact information that didn't even have our last name on the bill for work that was already done. Because of our travel schedules we need to talk to someone from Stark Contrast (preferably the owner) to continue a relationship with them. I will upgrade my rating for this company if/ when I hear from them and we resolve everything. 8/20/13 update: Still haven't heard from the owner, but two nice men knocked on the door Tuesday and asked what I needed done to the yard. I can only assume it was in response to the message I sent the company via Angie's List. We walked around and looked at things. They spent a fair amount of time working. Everything I asked for got done and the areas look nice. If this level of service keeps up, we will be pleased with Stark Contrast's work. Changing their ratings accordingly.

Rory Starks the owner came out with his crew to do the initial clean up. I was really pleased to see the owner and appreciated that he was there for the initial visit. He was very courteous and attentive to what I wanted. They did a great job!. There were a couple small items I wanted addressed that I had forgot to mention when Rory gave me the initial quote but he took care of them at no additional cost. I could tell that he really cares about his company. I was so pleased with the work that Rory and I agreed on a reasonable price for bi monthly maintenance. I look forward to using Stark Contrast on other landscape projects.
