Description of Work: LG Dryer that has had long standing problems, finally sounded like the thumps of shoes drying inside when soft clothes were drying. Roger (the owner?) anwered the phone, came quickly, diagnosed the problem, gave the estimate, acquired the parts and performed the repair. Couldn't be happier with his service, price, speed, and friendly manor.

Description of Work: -He informed my Husband & I that, after looking at the model # of the fridge we had just bought from Craig's list was NOT a year 2008, as was advertised, according to the model &, this fridge is over 20 yrs. old. Due to the expensive Ice Maker & water valve that was needed, plus tax & labor...the total amount was just very unwise for us to spend, on an over 20 yr. old Fridge. We opted not to have any repair done. Ralph (I believe that was our repairman's name) did not charge us for the trip, and we ssssoooo appreciated his honesty, truthfulness and quite frankly true Christian ethics.

Description of Work: He checked the dryer, replaced the control board and cleaned the lint out of my dryer. He put a thick pad on my counter, removed my built-in microwave and determined the magnatron tube was broken. He fixed the dryer that day and put the defective microwave back in so that I could still use the timer. He came back several days later and repaired the microwave as efficiently as the first time.

Description of Work: My, just slightly over 1 yr old, front-load LG Mdl. WM2487HRMA Washer got loud during spin cycle so I called NVAS. Spoke to Roger and he came out and gave me an estimate. Very pleasant and knowledgable man. I'm pretty sure he's the owner. You can always tell if they know what their doing. He took one listen and new that the main bearings had failed. That's sort of what I expected anyway so it really wasn't that big of a surprise. This LG gets very light usage so it really doesn't say much for LG products. We scheduled a pickup date and that was it. He showed up on the next date and time as discussed with helper and took the washer to his shop. He called me a couple days later, said it was fixed and then set up date to return it. Same deal, showed when he said he would reinstalled the washed, tested it again and that was it. Smooth, simple, professional, pleasant and efficient, what more can you ask for. It was the price he said it was and he gave me back the failed parts. NO SURPRISES and he didn't try to give a line of bull or sell me something I didn't need. The LG is working fine now and these guys will be my new appliance service company if anything else needs fixed. Because this washer was barely out of warranty I called LG and tried to get them to fix it. They were polite but no dice. I guess this is one of those times you wish you had the extended warranty. NVAS is great though and I would recommend them to anyone. Thanks Roger!

Description of Work: Call out for problem with washer. Technician found model was newer than any schematics he had available and was unable to complete inspection and make recommendation. Was not charged for service call due to lack of current info. Was a good experience even if he was unable to fix issue.

Description of Work: Our 27 year-old washing machine was screeching during the spin cycle and chunks of rust were found in the tub. Roger came and took the agitator out and revealed the very rusted inner workings of the agitator. He gave us a price to fix it but recommended it was probably time for a new machine.

Description of Work: Our initial service call was for the refrigerator. The refrigerator was warm and the freezer was normal. Within 5 minutes after arrival, Roger knew what was wrong. He manually defrosted the heater coil and ordered the replacement part. After that was taken care of, we asked him to look at our dishwasher. We had been told by two previous repairmen that we should buy a new one. After a few minutes, he found a bank of three wires that had shorted out. After the wire were fixed, it took a half hour or so, but he found a part that had stopped working because of the short. The dishwasher was also fixed. The $245.00 charge was for parts and labor to fix both appliances. We were very pleased with his experience, knowledge and capability. We will definitely call him again when the need arises.

Description of Work: Whirlpool washer stopped mid cycle and would not drain or spin. Ended up needing a new lid switch

Description of Work: Tenant advised me the dryer in my condo was taking too long to dry clothes, sometimes required 2 or 3 cycles to dry. Called North Valley and they made arrangements directly with my tenant for the service call. He inspected and tested the dryer for heat and determined it was fine, but the vents needed to be cleaned. He could not clean the vents because the clog was in the vents that go up to the roof, rather than downwards. Told tenant to complain to building manager to have vents cleaned out. The price he quoted me for the service call was all he charged me.

Description of Work: My 2002 Kenmore HE 3t washer stopped in the middle of a load, would not drain. Roger came out and installed a new drain pump.

Description of Work: Roger took care of my dishwasher. A large puddle on Friday was resolved ASAP with just some elbow grease to clear mineral deposits, and some great advice for keeping my dishwasher in top order.

Description of Work: The first time I had North Valley out to my home was to fix my Maytag dryer. I was having intermittent problems with the dryer not heating up, (would run but not heat). Thought it was the element, or dial. He showed up on time, was very pleasant and was able to confirm that the dryer (it was working that day) was not heating up to temperature. He then tested the incoming power and determined that the current coming in was not correct and showed me the readings. His recommendation was to get an electrician (which he was very apologetic about) to determine what the problem was. I did so, and he was correct. The problem was in the 240 wiring of the box. Within a week my refrigerator stopped making ice. I called North Valley again and they were, again, prompt, courteous and very professional. It turned out that the fan in the freezer had stopped running (one of the blades was stuck on something). Of course, all he did was touch it and it was back on. At that point he could have sold me a new fan, instead, he showed me how to remove the casing should it happen again. The fan price was about $90.00 + labor.
