First they went to the wrong house, and got upset with the homeowner there. Then they gave me another appointment a month later but didn’t show within window so I called. They set window back another 1 and 1/2 hour, didn’t come again. I called again and they set window back another hour, still did not show. No call at all even though I was promised they would call twice. I ended up taking off two days of work that I did not get paid for. They are very hard to get in touch with, 45 min & higher hold time every time I called, I ended up calling another repair co and they came on time, were communicative, and did great service. This shows what customer service should be like. I will NEVER call A & E ever again!

As I write this review, I am sitting and waiting for the technician from this sorry excuse for a repair company. This is the 4th scheduled trip for a simple ice-maker repair, and I was scheduled between 8am and 12pm. The technician calls me at 11:55 and says "I am going to be another hour to hour and a half--should I still come"? The story started when my ice-maker failed and the warranty company sent A and E. I scheduled half day off work, and the tech came out with the part. It took him longer than expected, and he seemed to be "modifying" the new part to make it fit. Within a week of him installing the ice-maker it started leaking and filling my freezer with water. I scheduled another appointment and the same tech called on his way and informed me that I would have to pay for this call since his record did not indicate a warranty. When I refreshed his memory on why he was coming, and mentioned that he put in the failing ice-maker, he began to be borderline rude, and he said he was not coming unless i pay for the call in advance. Again this was at almost noon after waiting 4 hours. Needless to say I told him to enjoy his lunch now that he is back on schedule after being unwilling to come to my house and call his company to straighten this out. i schedule a third call and request another technician, and he shows up and informs me that the ice-maker that the first tech installed was the incorrect part, and, that i will have to schedule yet another appt after a new part is shipped to me. That brings us to today where I am again waiting on another late A and E technician. The customer service is worthless, and i believe possibly foreign, since it is not easy to understand what they are saying. Unfortunately, they probably do all warranty work and the poor consumer does not have a say in who will be doing the repair. If you ever do have an opportunity to choose, DO NOT EVER use this incompetent company--you will regret it if you do.

This is the only authorized repair service for my Samsung fridge in Avondale AZ - according to samsung. First phone call to the 1800 number Samsung gave me, I was on hold over 20 min then hung up on. Saw a connection to sears on BBB, so chatted online with sears rep who couldn't confirm the connection or the Samsung authorization, quoted $75 to come out. Second call, hours later, very foreign rep didn't seem to understand, quoted $120 just to come out, really? Third call, today, using Angie's list number, quoted $75 service call, can come out in 5 days. Joined angies, saw reviews, will look elsewhere. $20 to Angie might be saving me a lot more.

My microwave died, and I was referred to this company. I called on Wednesday and they explained they were far away and had a busy schedule. Regardless we were able to schedule an appointment for Friday between 1-5, and they gave us a recorded telephone notice on Thursday. After rearranging our schedules to accommodate the appointment we waited until almost five. We called to see what was going on and they said they ran out of time for the day and they will come back next Tuesday between 7-11. Since then I have replaced the microwave at greater expense then the repair would have been.

Description of Work: Freezer was leaking water from ice maker compartment and the back of my freezer. The tech said bad icemaker and replaced it. Tech was very nice, punctual, and courteous. In less than a week the issue recurred. Tech made some adjustments and left. In less than a week again issue back. Tech came out made some adjustments and let me know if it happens again there would be another trip charge, because the issue was not the icemaker. Less than 1 week, again leaked. I called another repair company who hopefully has finally solved my problem.

Our Sears/Kenmore water heater began heating water to extreme temperature, so we called another Angie's List provider for service. They spent a lot of time on the telephone trying to locate parts information. After being transferred among eight different Sears parts people and being told our unit was not registered, they gave up the hunt. The morning I called Sears service. After trying to sell me a labor warranty for my water heater that was still under parts warranty, had a technician here in the afternoon. The A&E Service technician was polite but handed me an estimate for $175 to replace two parts under warranty (15 minutes labor). After my complaint, they reduced the bill to $123, and repaired the appliance. I have had this experience consistently with Sears.... pushing to sell an extended warranty on appliances and in the absence of warranty, charging exorbitant prices as if to punish.

Arrived 1/2 an hour after quoted 4-hour window. Total price to replace ice maker motor was $280, including a $170 labor charge for 30 mins of work. Repairman was not terribly friendly or professional. Price was way out of line.
