It went fantastic. I was completely pleased with the service, the price and responsiveness.

John was easy to reach on his cell phone and was able to come out on the day I requested as I was home from work. Arrived about 45 min after the time window he told me initially. I was ok with this and he got the whole job done in less than an hour. I was glad I didn't have to buy a whole new door.

John, owner, was very responsive, came quickly to assess the problem. He discovered the rollers were bad, replaced them immediately. He also serviced the door, adjusted the spring tension, badly out of balance. The door now acts reliably and smoothly. Repair took less than an hour, well done.

Owner stopped by the same day contacted to inspect site and provide written work order. New door was installed the next day and painted two days later, just as planned. Excellent job from start to finish.

The work was done very professionally and I am very happy with the result.

I must say the quality of work done was excellent, but the customer service could have been much better. He arrived an hour late, knowing I had an appointment to get to. He informed me it would take "about an hour". However, he left close to 3 hours later. Now don't take me wrong, I'm very pleased with the quality of the work so far, it's just I wished he could have been more accurate with his time quote, as well as perhaps call me if he was going to be late.

In a freak accident, our 2 car garage door came off it's tracks at 9pm on Tuesday night. My husband and I thought for sure it was destroyed. The tracks were bent and bowed, the wheels popped off and it looked like a disaster. Thirty minutes later, John arrived and not only indicated that he could fix it but he would do it that very evening. 2 hours later (AT 11:30PM) our garage was working like a charm. My husband even asked if we should replace our garage door opener and John said it worked fine and had alot of life left in it. Who does that?!?!?!? I wish John did everything household related. He would be my go to everything guy!

The garage door broke on a Saturday and being reluctant to just call anyone and remembering I had just joined Angie's list, went online after reading many reviews my dear friend and I decided on A-1 Advantage and after talking with John at length about what needed to be done decided on a complete new garage door. I was surprised to they would come over and install a new garage door. The gentleman arrived on time, priding himself on his work got right to work and diasselmbled the door.I was amazed how quickly it was done! Watching this man and how precise he was at putting this puzzle together was huge. Good to their promise A-1 Advantage completed their job in the amount of time specified. The paint matches perfectly and the ease of opening and closing is just right!

I called John for an estimate for what it would cost to have all of the services performed. I let him know I would do some research and give him a call back. John called mid-morning the next day to make sure I didn't have any further questions. He clarified a couple of things, and was really great about explaining the different options available, and gave me the skinny on what each thing meant. I called around and got a couple of estimates. John by far provided the best customer service, and had the best price. I don't think I could have asked for much more! Oh that's right, John was able to schedule me for the very next morning, I guess I could have after all. Ken arrived within the time frame John had given me, I wasn't home for the start of the installation, but John called to let me know when Ken had arrived. Upon my arrival Ken had the old door out, had finished the framing, and was getting all of the insides going. He quickly recognized me as the home owner, and stopped what he was doing to introduce himself and let me know what was going on. Ken was very informative and an all around nice guy who knows what he is doing, and takes pride in his workmanship. When Ken was finished with everything he took time to show me how to ensure the door has a long life, all of the safety features, as well as other special features I had no idea about. Tomorrow John will be out to paint the garage door, and I could not be happier. My experience with John, Ken, and A1 Advantage as a whole was smooth, and enjoyable. I will definitely use them in the future if the occasion arises, and would not think twice about recommending them, they have my vote.

Great experience! John was honest and open, he answered all my questions with out any type of rush for sale. He gave me a quote for what I wanted over the phone. I called back 2 weeks later after some research, the price was the best around and his package included everything (no hidden costs). He remembered me and had documented the quote and package we talked about before. I called in the afternoon and he had someone out there the next morning. He stated a 9-10am start and I asked for earlier if possible, he said he would try and they showed up at 830am. Ken was very professional and honest, he completed the work earlier then stated and even did some additional wire management (at no additional cost). I have an 8' door which I'm not sure if I stated and they needed different springs to complete the job. They got the new parts and kept with the stated quote with no additional charge. The spring on our garage door broke making the automatic garage door opener non-functioning. We researched Angie's List for help with our problem and called two service providers. A-1 Advantage returned our call in less than 15 minutes; they committed to a two-hour window of time for them to come to our home and evaluate the problem. Their service technician arrived within the promised time frame; he was friendly and professional. He installed two new springs - each with a lifetime warranty, and we found the pricing to be fair and reasonable. Our problem was resolved within 4 hours from the time we placed the call to the time the technican pulled out of our driveway. We would definitely use them again.

We wanted to convert our carport into a garage. When I visited Angie's list, I carefully reviewed and contacted several garage door contractors. I interupted John at dinner because I didn't notice how late it was, yet he answered right away and said he'd come over the next morning to give me an estimate. He was the only one of the five i called who could install the frame as well as the garage. With every other garage contractor i called, i would have had to contract with 2 contractors: the garage door contractor and the carpenter contractor. He not only saved me money and effort, but was willing to do it the very next day. They showed up and were in all ways prompt, puctual, professional and polite. He and his workmen, which included a nationally licensed garage door installer, were extremely skilled and I now have classy Clopay door, a Liftmaster Elite series( 3/4hp.) door opener with two car remotes and a keypadded entry. It was the best offer I had and is absolutely beautiful. We've had so many compliments on how much it has enhanced our home. I would recommend A-1 Advantage to anyone. As a matter of fact i already have. They are the best company that I have ever used from Angie's List. Thanks A-Advantage. You are the best!

One of our two car garage doors spring broke and our garage door would not open. I called in the am, spoke with John and he was able to come right out to check out the problem. As my doors and openers are over ten years old, out dated and slightly damaged I had him give me a quote on new doors. His quote was less than a quote from three years ago (yes, thats how long I have wanted new doors) but it included new openers, remotes and a new keypad along with the same doors I had priced before. He had an extra spring (although not the correct strength) on his truck and was able to temporally fix my door until my new doors come in. My brother was also here at the time of his service call and mentioned his garage door was not opening or closing properly. It worked out that John stopped by my brother's home on the way back and adjusted his door also and for the first time since the door was installed a couple years ago it is working great. The original installer did not balance the door properly when it was installed. Because I ordered new doors from John my cost for the temp repair was nothing and my brother's was $160.00. I am looking forward to getting prettier doors put on in three weeks!

They were able to get the job done when I was not at home, which was a real plus. They were very quick and did a decent job. My only things that could have been improved were the wiring was not strung through the ceiling, but stapled to the ceiling and walls. The access to the attic was in the garage and this could have been conducted relatively easily. The other thing is that I am a short person and they put the garage door opener at about 6 feet so it is not convenient to open and close the garage. However, overall they were very nice to work with and I would use them again.

Excellent customer service provided by John & Michael. They were able to come out and perform the work on the same day that I called. Will recommend A-1 Advantage to others.

Our garage door was making a squealing noise when it was raised and I was concerned because I saw several strands of metal wire beginning to poke trough where the door is hinged. ( I used this company previously to make different repair on the garage door.; the service on the previous repair was stellar.). My husband called A-1 Advantage at approximately 3:30 p.m. yesterday afternoon, he spoke with the owner, told him the cable on one side of the door was beginning to shred. The owner told us he'd call us back in 10 minutes, he had to check which of his employees was closest to us, he thought he could have someone over to replace the cables by 5 p.m.; Although we had to call him back around 5 p.m. to see what was going on, he had someone out by 7 pm. His technician, Ken Rowell, replaced 1 set of cables and1 set of rollers, adjusted the door springs and lubricated the door. The rollers he installed carry a lifetime parts warranty. He also recommended a lubricating spray we could get at any hardware store to keep the door operating smoothly. The service perfomed was exellent; he didn't gouge me on price; and Ken was very polite and professional. I would use thes people again in a hot minute! And NO, I didn't look for them on Angie's List, I signed in to submit a recommendation for the comnay and was plesantly surprised to see they were already on here with a great rating.

Job went perfect. My install was scheduled for the next day. They showed up on time got the job done in the time he said it would take. It could not have gone any better. One thing I thought set A-1 apart was that John had called me the next day just to make sure everything was up to my liking. I had one very small issue that was a concern to me. They came out that day and fixed the "problem." Thanks A-1 Great Job!

On my A-! list for life. As a Realtor, clients look to me for referrals when something goes wrong in their home. A-! Advantage will be my "go to" company for garage doors, openers and service. This is my my first time using Angie's List and I could not have picked a better time to join. My garage door spring broke today at 5:30 this morning. Fortunately, the spring broke after the car was in the garage as it is another hot day in Phoenix. I called A-1 Advantage at 8:55 am and spoke to JKen. He asked me how soon I needed the door fixed and I asked by 5 pm (today is a Saturday). He said he would be at my house by 11:00 am. He arrived at 10:45 and immediately diagnosed my problem. He recommended replace not only the spring broken but also the other spring ( I have a double car door). He said chances were they were the same age and had the same amount of usage. He also imspected rest of the door, tracking and the door motor. He suggested replacing the tracking wheels, which had dry rotted because of the dry heat. With in 1/2 hour he had replaced both springs, all of the tracking wheels and lubricated all of the tracking. Ken was very pleasant and extremely knowledgable. It was also nice to talk to a fellow East coast native! This company and Ken are A+++++. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED ! ! ! !

A-1 Advantage did an excellent job fixing my garage doors. The spring broke on one of my doors so I could not get my car out of the garage. A-1 Advantage arrived about two hours after I called and had the new door springs installed, doors lubed, adjusted, etc within about an hour and a quarter.

I contacted A-1 Advantage early in the morning, expecting to get an answering machine, but a living, breathing person answered. I explained my problem and after asking a few questions the representative gave me his recommendation. The company was offering a discount on a quality garage door opener but he told me about some less expensive options as well. I was able to get an appointment the same day and was given a two hour window during which the service technician would arrive. Our service technician, Ken, arrived within that two hour window. Ken was knowledgeable, skilled and very pleasant in spite of the fact he was working in a hot garage on a day that was well over 100 degrees. It was obvious that Ken knew his job and within a relatively short period of time we were the proud owners of an excellent new garage door opener. Ken took the time to thoroughly explain the workings of the door opener and even linked the remote in my car to the garage door opener. He left the garage in perfect order and as he left he asked again if we had any further questions. I highly recommend this company.

Very good response time. Technician was courteous and thorough. In and out in 3 hours driving from Tempe to San Tan Valley.
