I read the previous review and it made me laugh, it's true, Dr. Lieber rarely (if ever) looks at you, he is always staring at his computer. I've been seeing Dr. James Lieber for approx. 2 years now, maybe a little less. I was with my previous doctor for over 15 years, sadly he retired. I am young and in decent health, I don't go to the doctor often but have recently have been having major abdominal pains. I went to Dr. Lieber December 2, 2012 and had an ultrasound, they were supposed to call me with follow ups and referrals and guess what today February 12, 2013, I got a call back, that's right 2 months later. Christ I could be dead by now. In the mean time, I got the results of my ultrasound and it came back, "unremarkable", yet I was still in pain. Also I had been calling his office to inquire as to the referals, etc. they always told me the referrals person was busy and to leave a message. I think I called 5 times and they just got back to me 2 months later. Really? The person who finally got back with me apologized and said they just learnt there referral person wasn't doing her job, sounds to me Dr. Lieber wasn't doing his job.
Another problem I had with their office; back in Feb 2012, I fell down the stairs in my home, I didn't want to go to the hospital, I knew they would just refer me to my primary care who would then refer me a few specialists. I called Dr. Liebers office and said I needed an emergency appt. she said he didn't have an opening for 2 weeks, WHAT? I kept calling back and asking if there was a cancellation, finally I got an appt. the next day and let him know I didn't appreciate being told for an emergency I couldn't get an appt. for 2 weeks, he apologized for his office and said that they should have talked to him.
Dr. James Lieber is a nice enough person but does lack a bedside manner, he never looks at you, and he's always in a hurry, not what I'd call a people person. You get the impression from him that he really doesn't enjoy his work, it's just a job. His office staff... they are rude, unfriendly, just horrible, they don't care about their patients, it's just a job to them, I cannot imagine who hired these people not one of them have any business dealing with the public.
If you have health problems and need a serious doctor and professional staff, or like me are just looking for a good doctor to continue seeing for the rest of your life, please do not waste your time at this office.
He never does anything but sit with his computer in his lap, ignores half of what I told him and will focus on a singular problem to address. I tell him I get nauseous, he gives me antacids even though I tell him that my stomach is not what makes me nauseous.I get constant headaches, never once has he ever looked in to what causes them. My neck pain is intolerable and my backpain almost as much. He's never checked me for anything, just sits there with his computer. I've been knocked out three times in my life he has never even suggested that I have someone look at that as possibly being a cause for my headaches.I'm sorry but I could go on ranting forever, what I have written here in just the tip of the iceberg but I think you'll get the point by now.I've never seen such a hands-off approach in my life.I am now out of my Statin medication, pain meds and meds for my nerves which are shot. I will soon be out of several other meds I wonder what happens after I die from lack of treatment? Thanks for listening!
