Everything seemed fine until a couple of weeks after it was installed, when once again it stopped working. I called Chris and told him that I thought the part was defective. He came back to my house, took my oven apart, left parts all over my kitchen and left after telling me that he would get the part replaced. I waited several days without any response from Chris. I called and was told that he was still waiting on the part. This went on for a couple of weeks. After waiting over 2 weeks, I called Chris again and told him that I really needed my oven fixed. He finally came back to my house, did some "testing" and said that the part he installed was fine and I had another problem with my oven. I watched the test Chris did which showed that the part was receiving power and obviously (to me) should be working. I think that Chris put a used part on my oven and charged me for a new one. He denied that and said the part was new. When he brought it to my house, I noticed that it was NOT in a box, and he had no invoice to show how much it costs. He kept saying that there was nothing wrong with the part, it had no warranty, and it would cost him another $100.00 for another part to prove to me that the problem was not the ignitor he installed. I finally told him to order the part, and if it didn't fix the problem, I would pay for it. He told me that he would and left my house again with pieces of my oven all over the kitchen. I kept contacting Chris for a total of about a month and a half from the time I originally called him. After being lied to for all this time, I finally gave up and called someone else. He came and fixed my oven, and I paid him $175.31. I called Chris to let him know what I had done and told him I thought he owed me a refund. He kept saying that the new ignitor was going to stop working too since there was another problem with my oven, but said he would refund my money. He finally stopped taking my calls, so I decided to wait to make sure the new part wasn't going to quit before posting a negative review of my experience. It has now been almost 6 months, and my oven is still working. So I just wanted to let anyone else considering Chris for a project know what to expect. I have told everyone I know about him and advised them NOT to use him. I just hope this review will save others from the expense (believe me, the $143.00 I lost put me in a real bind) and headaches I went through.
Description of Work: Replaced the ignitor on my gas oven.
